Advantages: Kind to the skin, efficient and refreshing. Nicely designed
Disadvantages: A pressurised container that hates you. This is 'the best a man can get (in life?)' allegedly
You know how it is; you buy a shaving item of some brand/type, and not wanting to think hard or dilly dally much in a feminine Boots, you just plump for any recommended same brand matching accessories. Atleast I do, also in my own weird domesticated weak-male-thinking way I like seeing Gillette products lined up in a little row in the bathroom. They whisper "man lives here"..Their design is quite blue/silvery space-age.
I'm one of those sensitive people...So the Cool Wave range by Gillette is what's suitable for other guys (and girls) like me. 195g of shaving gel and 100ml of after-shave gel are what you can pick up for about a tenner together.
The (same) smell of the products is really quite good (dunno what the name is though), as most male toiletry scents could be used to kill people, especially in copious amounts. Gone are the days when our elder males were forced to convert their cheeks into hard sandpaper.
The shaving gel which comes in a spray can has quite a volatile release system; if you're not careful you could make a mess, so take note. The after-shave is just a squeeze-out system. Both products perform their uses well as you'd expect (to aid shaving and nourish and moisturize the skin afterwards), and both are very mild on the skin, I only feel positive effects and the freshness and coolness does last a while. The shaving gel (which sprays out greeny and turns white) notes that advanced lubricants and aloe are in there to make shaving great, aswell as comfortable as refreshing.
I use these on my neck with a Mach3 razor, as recommended and I find it makes the act of shaving less of a curse. And I'd rather shave and have a deep voice and dual-functioning genitalia than be a smoothy Joe Pasquale. Though for one day that might be a novelty, but only one day!
It's said that Gillette is 'The Best A Man Can Get'; which is pretty sad if the best thing a man can get in life is
shaving products, but still their stuff's really good. *Mental note: must stop reviewing toiletries*
