Every year when we go on holiday, we always visit the Duty Free section. Mainly because my wife used to work there, and has a thing for perfume. Over the years she has got me more interested in them aswell. Last year was no exception as we went to Mauritius. My wife had purchased her perfume at Heathrow, but at the time, I really was not to interested as I just wanted to get to the gate.
We got to Dubai on the stop over and went into the duty free there. I felt I should get something since she did. Only problem with Dubai is that they rarely have discounted perfume sales.
I spent a good 15 minutes looking around the mens section. Really too long in my book. I think I felt rushed aswell. There are many brands that I like and having visit the Armani shelf, I tried Diamonds. Now, maybe it was because I was jet lagged, but over other brands, I picked Diamonds.
So the Eau de Toilette:
With main notes of Bergamot, Citrus, Szechwan Pepper and slight notes of Cedar, Cocoa Bean.
Difficult to describe the smell. When you initially apply it, it smells up market and smells abit like Armani Code. It has a floral smell with a hint of Strawberries more so than cocoa.
Pretty simple to look at. Rectangle in shape, and not that really well thought out. Not what you look at the likes of Diesel or Paco Rabanne.
Not good at all. Very poor. About 4hrs max and by then it has completely gone. By 2hrs only you will be able to smell it on your collar.
So the verdict. I feel cheated to be honest. You want to be able to wear something that stands out, lasts a while and this just does not do that. It was a rushed decision to purchase it and I regret it. You want to wear something which people may comment on, and I have had nothing and I think that's because it has worn itself out before I even get out the door. For Armani, its disappointing. Stick with Armani Code.
