“ Brand: Giorgio Armani / Type: Fragrance / Concentration: Eau de Parfum / Gender: for women „
The packaging on this perfume is rather in your face in design, it is a rather bright scarlet colour from top to bottom and rather than comming in a box instead it comes in a foil wrapper which is the same colour with some white lettering, it is an unusual and innovative design and one that I quite like. The red bottle is quite small and it is an ideal product for your handbag if you get the 30ml size which will I got for £18 so it is not too expensive, it has a red rubber button on the top and pressing this produces a fine spray of fragrance. The only downside is that the only way you have of knowing how much is left is by the feel of the weight of the bottle as you cannot see inside of it.
It has a fruity smell to it, supposedly this comes from blackcurrent and cranberries and there is also white musk, sandalwood and lillies in it as well in addition to other scents. It has a nice light feel to it which is why despite the name of Night She I tend to wear it more as a daytime scent rather than in the evenings. It has a decent amount of strength and I have been well pleased with how well it lasts throughout the day.
It is not a spray that you would want to apply with a heavy hand as it is strong having said that it is not one that clouds a whole room when you walk into it, instead it provides a nice balance between blending in to your skin and still projecting a nice fruity aroma.
I like the design as it is a little funky and great for carrying around as you get no real risk of leakage and it would need a fair bit of pressure for an accidental squirt to take place. Certainly one worth looking out for.
Still trying to get through the last of my perfume collection, I can't help but want to go on a perfume shopping spree! I have never had a favourite brand of perfume because the market now is so huge. But Armani has to be one of the most famous brands in the fragrance and fashion industry. So is no surprise that when it comes to Armani perfume, it is more of a piece of art then a fragrance. But would you expect anything else from the design house of Giorgio Armani?
** Perfume Packaging **
I think that the people at Armani have a perfect grasp of what sleek and sophisticated really means and how to portray that perfectly in their perfumes. The packaging for 'Night She' is a perfectly small, smooth and sleek metal bottle, which seems to be scratch and mark resistant. Perfect for carrying around in your bag. It really is a simple design. The cylinder shape bottle is a block of bright cherry red. I believe the red is extremely symbolic for this perfume. Creating an intense, passionate design, matched with the 'night' name. Well, passion and night-time. I'm sure you can make the equation for yourself. A sexy design which is classic yet modern.
The bottle comes wrapped in a cherry red packet like foil film, reminding me of a packet of sweets. Minimalist yet unique, Armani know how to grab attention. It really is a different concept to a box. If you are someone who likes to keep your perfumes boxed, this definitely wont go down with you. But for the minimalist people, this is a great concept.
The only downside to this bottle is that it is completely blocked with colour, so you can not see how much of the perfume is left inside. You can obviously get the gist of the idea by feeling how heavy the bottle is and giving it a little shake, so hardly a downfall. On the plus side, the rubber button which you have to press down firmly is rather interesting. It can take a second to hit the right spot and the spray comes out extremely thick and wet so my advice is to spray quick and not to far away from the body.
Sleek and stylish.
** The Heart Notes **
The heart scents (otherwise known as the middle notes) are what makes up the main body of the perfume and is usually what catches the most attention and appeal. The heart notes are most apparent within an hour of wearing the perfume and generally last throughout the life of the perfume on the skin. So when people ask 'oh what's that smell?' it's usually these notes that they can sense.
Blackcurrant, cranberry, peony, sandalwood, magnolia, orchid and white musk.
The notes mix well together to create and overall floral scent with a hint of powdery sweetness. It is a deep and heavy perfume, but still stays light enough to be feminine. The deep floral scent is very seductive and is a definite night-time or winter fragrance.
** Wearing the Fragrance **
This fragrance has a warm and deep smell to it which fits in perfectly with winter months or nights and evenings. The heavy spray burst out of the bottle with a sharp floral scent with a slight sweet edge. It has an immediate slight smell of back current which sounds odd, but in fact it smells extremely alluring. The aroma comes out heavy so one or two sprays really is enough. The notes work together perfectly so that the floral attributes such as the magnolia and orchid don't become overbearing and consuming. Instead it blends perfectly with the few fruity scents and settles itself down slightly with the white musk.
After a few minutes the fragrance settles down a lot and becomes very powdery and soft. Still fruity and floral but with a deep sweetness to it. This is what makes it a night fragrance. There is nothing spicy about the smell but it still remains an intense warm aroma. Almost giving the imagery of a hot soothing black current drink.
In my opinion the scent on the skin doesn't last very long at all. It really is a subtle scent which lasts for an hour or so. On closer inspection, you can still smell the perfume on the skin but it is barely noticeable. So unless you are planning to get up close and personal with someone on your night out, this won't attract any attention. This is a shame as the scent is very pleasant and it would be an advantage to have it slightly longer lasting. However, understated the sent maybe it still lives up to expectations of a night-time perfume and has a great charming character to it. Deep, slightly woody, floral and sensual, but with a light fruity touch.
** Price, Availability & Other Products **
As with most perfumes the price varies depending on where you got and what size you get. I would always advice you to look online as there are so many perfume retailers now. I bought mine for £30.00 for 50ml from The Perfume Shop. The usual places such as Boots etc have it on sale for around the same price. The price is about average, however because it isn't long lasting you might find yourself spraying it through-out the day meaning you can get through the perfume quite quickly. But if you just use it for special occasions then the perfume will do the price justice.
Armani also do this scent for men. Which comes in a sleek black bottle. They also produce Armani SHE. Which is a different colour bottle. Confusing but completely different in colour and scent.
** Recommendation **
Third in the Armani series, She Night is overall a warm, soft, woody fragrance which captivates the senses, all be it for a short time. It smells rich and smooth, and the bottle represents the aroma perfectly. It really is a classy perfume and it won't disappoint any one who buys it.
It starts of sharp but gently fades into a musky scent so it isn't overpowering. Because of its overall subtle scent once it has calmed down, it can be worn through out the day as a basic perfume. However, in my opinion, it comes into its own when sprayed just before going out for the night, or for a special occasion which requires a hint of charisma and seductiveness. In my opinion it's called Night for a reason!
Recommended as a soft but deep floral fragrance with a hint of berry to tantalise the senses. Not long lasting but still charming and with its contemporary, sleek and sophisticated bottle, it really is a winner.
Thank you for reading!
I first tested this item at a local department store.I wasn't too eager to try it out at first, as I was slightely put off by the simplicity of the bottle. However, after testing it,theres no doubt , the fragrance was simply divine!
There were mild top notes of musk in there.Throughout the day the fragrance became more floral.Surprisingly, even the following day I could smell the fragrance on my wrist, which is great as some fragrances have a tendency to wear off pretty quickly (which makes one question a products quality) This fragrance constantly changed, which, one may say made it stand out from other 'same old' fragrances.I'm assuming that is has a variety of notes.Friends have told me its very fruity, and so I am assuming it may have hints of fruity notes in there too.
At the time I purchased it ,which was shortly after testing the product,it cost me about £22.00 for a 30ml bottle.Which, considering the brand name and the pleasant fragrance is very good value.
The one let down for me is the actual bottle. As it is a plain red bottle, which resembles somewhat an air freshener. If one judges a fragrance by whats inside(and I think that would be most of us) then this is a must have everyday and evening wear scent. However is you like your bottle to look good on your dressing table, then maybe it isn't to every womans taste.
Overall,I will give this fragrance 4 stars.
For those of you that read some of my earlier reviews, I went through lets call it a phase, of reviewing perfume and aftershave on mass. In fact I reviewed both mine and Mr Lools' entire perfume and aftershave collection. When I got through the entire collection I felt almost a sense of sadness and irrational panic that I needed a new perfume to review. Rational thought did however prevail and I found other items around the house to write about. However my mum has just returned from a short break (New York in fact the lucky devil) and brought me back some perfume gifts so not only was I excited I had new scents in the collection I can also write reviews about them! Thank you Mother Lools! One of these was Armani She -Night.
The range of Armani She perfumes have quite unusual packaging and all are the same design apart from the colour scheme. Armani She Night is a block colour of bright scarlet red and very distinctive.
The outer packaging reminds me of a chocolate wrapper type packaging. A red foil sealed wrapper which you tear to open and reveal the perfume bottle. The outer wrapper is a glossy red colour which matches the glossy red perfume bottle.
The perfume bottle t is a bright red cylinder about 2cm wide and 9cm high. On the top of the cylinder is a rubber button which when you press down quite firmly sprays perfume out of the nozzle on the side of the bottle. The perfume bottle is not the most appealing bottle to put on display however it is fantastic to carry around in a handbag as its light, compact and the spray nozzle means it will not leak out into your bag. This is very practical and the modern design looks trendy for a portable perfume. However the metal cylinder does get scratched, making it less appealing to put out on a dressing table.
Another small issue with the bottle is that you can't see the liquid inside of the bottle, so you do not know how much is left. You have to guess by the age old art of shaking the perfume bottle slightly to gauge how much liquid is left inside.
This was a present so I didn't actually pay for the perfume, therefore this section will be pretty brief. I did look in Boots and the perfume was available at the following prices: £20 for 30ml, £32 for 50ml and £59 for 100ml.
In comparison to other perfumes from Armani and other brands such as Gucci, Armani are very good value. The scent is quite a light and fresh fragrance but still does not require you to spray the perfume lots, therefore the bottle should last quite a while.
The description of the Armani Night perfume :
Top Notes include Blackcurrant, Cranberries, Bergamot, Hawthorn Petals,
Middle Notes Ambrette, Purple Peony, Lily of the Valley, Magnolia, Freesia, Violet, Heliotrope, Iris,
Bass Notes- Sandalwood, Myrrh, Patchouli, and White Musk.
From the description of the perfume you would imagine this to be quite a floral perfume but surprisingly the perfume is very fresh and sweet. The blackcurrant and cranberries give the perfume a fruity scent which overall is soft, clean and very fresh.
When initially sprayed the scent does appear quite strong on the skin and extremely fruity and sweet, but after a minute or so the scent calms down. You can smell the scent on the skin or when up close to someone wearing it but not so much so that when you walk into a room everyone can smell the perfume before they see you. I would say two sprays are enough to last all day. The perfume does fade as the day goes on, but 8 hours later you can still smell the perfume on the skin.
An absolutely brilliant perfume for those that like fresh but sweet perfumes. Although this is Armani She "Night" I do not feel that you would be restricted to wearing this for night time occasions or special events only. It is suitable for these type of occasions but because it is quite a light and fresh fragrance it could be worn during the day for work..... the trick is just not to spray too much. The perfume makes a great present to buy for someone as its not an over powering scent therefore not offensive and would suit a variety of tastes in perfume. Five out of five fragrance but overall taking into account the design of the bottle four out of five !

I discovered this perfume whilst wandering aimlessly at Gatwick in the duty free section. It was quite new at the time I think but has now been in my perfume collection for about six years. Emporio Armani Night She is the third of the Emporio series and has a black version for men. I think this has now been discontinued but Amazon has it for £38.50 for the 100ml bottle and I am sure it's on ebay too.
There isn't much to say about the packaging for this perfume because it's just not particuarly exciting. It's a cherry red colour and comes in a cylindrical tube. There is no lid or spray nozzle at the top. Instead there is a soft area on top of the tube hat you push on to get ther perfume out. This means it is very safe to carry around in a hand-bag and I don't think you need worry about breaking or smashing it which can be a worry with some perfumes. On the downsize I have noticed it gets scratched quite easily as mine has marks both at the bottom and particularly in a ring around the hole. As the top layer has flaked off in places it makes it look a little nasty so I don't think it's the best packaging I've seen.
The top notes of this are blackcurrant, cranberry, hawthorne and bergamot. The middle notes are muguet, peony, magnolia and freesia and the base notes are sandalwood, teak, myrtyle, white musk and patchouli. I think the overall tone of the fragrance is to my the berry notes as there is a real fruit hint there. However, this isn't one of those overbearing florals that smell like an air freshner. It's quite soft, gentle and definitely feminine. It's a very good evening perfume but not to the extent that I feel silly wearing it during the day so I use it throughout the day. In terms of lasting power I would say it's quite good as it lasts quite a few hours on the skin and you can still smell that gently scent on your wrist in the afternoon.
So I do like this a lot. It may not be my favourite perfume and the packaging leaves a little to be desired but this is a perfume that would sit well in most womens' fragrance wardrobes I feel as I think it would have universal appeal.
