Sometimes the oldies are the best !
Amongst the vast range of fragrances that are at every perfumery counter in the land, there's one perfume that I have loved since my early twenties that I still love - it's Red by Giorgio Beverly Hills.
They say that your sense of smell evokes powerful memories, and perhaps that is part of my passion for it - I wore it when I met someone special , way back then...................but that's a whole other storyline.
Red is a strong, intense perfume with top notes of Cherry Blossom, Osmanthus, Hyacinth, Ylang Ylang and Cardamom.
Mid notes are, Carnation, Rose be Mai, gardenia, jasmine and Bulgarian Rose and bottom notes are Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Patchouli and Moss.
It's the sort of perfume that leaves a fragrance in the air when the wearer has left the room! Someone who can wear this perfume needs to be confident enough to accept complements!
Red is available as an Eau de Toilette, not perfume and is often for sale as a gift set, usually with a body lotion, but occasionally a shower gel.
It's really inexpensive, I don't want to use the word cheap as that would lessen its appeal, but you can buy a bottle of EDT in Semi Chem. from £9.99 at the moment.
There is also a men's version of Red, though I haven't found anyone who wears it.
Overall, a "blast from the past" perfume, but still very wearable and is wonderfully strong.
Wear this with a red outfit and you are ready to tackle whatever life throws at you !
Launched in 1989, Red for Women is an elegant, woody, mossy fragrance that contains over 600 ingredients including ylang-ylang, orange blossom, peach, amber, may rose, musk, carnation, vanilla, marigold, patchouli and oak moss.
