Givenchy Organza is a perfume made by Givenchy. You will probably have seen it, with its tall unique bottle and its fancy lid, this perfume is a bit of a classic.
I must point out that I only have a miniature bottle of this, which I received as part of a gift set of miniatures a while back.
~ Price ~
Givenchy Organza is available at Boots, Debenhams, House of Fraser and most other department stores. It is also available online at Cheapsmells.com.
It comes in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml eau de parfum bottles.
The 30ml bottle is available on Cheapsmells.com costs £29.45 (recommended retail price £39.50).
The 50ml bottle is available on Cheapsmells.com for £39.95 (RRP £56.50).
The 100ml bottle is available on Cheapsmells.com for £56.95 (RRP £79.00).
~ Bottle ~
The perfume comes in a tall glass bottle which curves on one side so that from the bottom of the bottle it appears to be a semi-circle shape, but then on the flat side of the bottle a ridged hourglass shape sticks out, making the bottle an odd shape.
The lid of the bottle is a gold colour and features a large curl on one side and a small curl at the other side and has a rounded shape in the middle. From the side it reminds me of a sleigh, the rounded shape in the middle being Santa's sack! It is a really nice lid and I think it makes the bottle interesting and helps it to stand out.
~ Scent ~
The scent is rather floral. I find it quite heavy, but very feminine. It seems to settle a bit to a more subtle powdery scent.
Fragrantica.com says, 'Organza is a magical mix of classical sensuality, delicacy and warmth, a hymn to eternal beauty possessed by every woman. An attractive bottle designed by Serge Manseau is the embodiment of virtues of this fragrance, which is oriental-floral, warm and sweet. It is composed of intoxicating notes of opulent white flowers: gardenia, tuberose and jasmine. The combination is incredibly exciting; soft vanilla in the base tames the voluptuous luxuriance of the floral heart.'
As mine is a miniature I have hardly used it at all as I tend to keep miniatures for occasions when I don't have space to carry a larger perfume, which tends to be on nights out, when I carry a smaller handbag or a clutch bag.
I would say Organza is more of a daytime scent rather than for nights out or special occasions and fortunately I have enough other miniatures not to have had to use this one on nights out.
I think this perfume is suitable for women of all ages. I am in my 20's and I really like this and could imagine my sisters, mother and grandmother would all appreciate this one. It is floral, but inoffensive.
I have found it to be long-lasting and overall I am really pleased with this perfume.
~ Overall ~
Overall, I think this is a pleasant, floral perfume. It has a nice bottle and a nicer lid. I would consider buying a larger bottle of this perfume, but for the moment there are other perfumes higher up my 'want list'.
I would recommend this perfume for yourself or it would make a great gift, especially as it is a scent that I think women of all ages would find appealing!
This perfume by Organza by Givenchy is a real classic perfume and since 1996 on the market, but still very popular. It is still regularly in the top ten best-selling fragrances. The perfume has a pleasant, delicate smell that was created by a combination of extracts of soft vanilla with honeysuckle, jasmine, gardenia, ylang-ylang and nutmeg. According to the house Givenchy Organza it is the perfect perfume for the independent, elegant woman. Givenchy has the bottle completely attuned to the smell. And in itself is a beautiful piece of art. The fragrance has flowery fragrance note.
The bottle is made of thick clear glass. The front looks like a glass sculpture there is an attractive ribbed classic hourglass figure on the bottle. This gives the bottle appearance of beauty, sensuality and warmth. The vial is closed with an ornate gold-colored cap. It is a true piece of art. When you buy the perfume is packaged in a neat cardboard box gold you find the same information as on the bottle. The perfume is available in a bottle of 30, 50, and 100ml.
The eau de parfum is red / brown. The smell is floral with woody and spicy undertones. You can notice the smell, but is not heavy. It reminds me of the scents of an exotic botanical forest.
It's a lovely eau de parfum, which I certainly have a preference for. It has a floral, spicy and woody, subtle scent that sitcks sure for one hour or eight. You need very little need for the whole day to smell nice. Also, the scent is not overwhelming and also excellent for daytime wear. Do you like light floral scent, this is definitely one you should try.
This perfume was another of my gifts this christmas and it is one I have bought before as it is a favourite of mine, not only is the bottle elegant and stylish but the perfume inside is excellent and to my taste in pafum's.
It retails at around £27 to £32 depending on where you buy it from and is available online at sites like cheapsmells.com and strawberry.net.
The packaging is very nice and comes it in a gold box with the name written in bold lettering, it looks expensive and makes a good gift to give to people or to recieve.
The perfume bottle itself is a nice sleek glass bottle with a spray dispenser, you only need a little spray for the scent to be applied neatly onto the wrists. I usually spray once on one wrist and rub it onto the other so as to make sure it's not plastered on and overpowering. The top on this looks metalic gold and has a unique design that sets the bottle off nicely for that stylish look.
This is a very subtle eau de parfum and has a lasting scent, that lingers on the skin.
This eau de parfum has got lots of tones to make the scent of it flowery and has top tones of peony and gardinia which are very nice flowers and you can smell this as soon as it hits the skin, this tone develops into a nice subtle flowery scent during the day you can smell little wafts of it as your going about your business.
The middle tones of honeysuckle really enhances the scent to give it extra flowery tones this isn't overpowering but nice and luxurious.
The base tones of nutmeg and vanilla and amber give it that lingering scent as amber lasts ages and so does the vanilla.
I really love this eau de parfum and was happy to recieve it as a present and when the bottle is empty I will be buying it again.
Organza, Eau de Parfum, by Givenchy was first available in 1997. This would have been around the time when I first purchased this fragrance. It was yet another of my duty free buys. I tested it first, in the duty free shop and then walked around the airport, smelling my wrist from time to time, to see if the smell lasted and remained pleasant. I was impressed and so eventually returned to purchase some.
I would say that this fragrance is definitely most suited to evening wear. It is a lovely aroma for all females but probably not so much for the very youngest perfume wearers. It would smell nice on all ages but I feel that the typical teen would probably prefer a lighter fragrance.
I thought of this perfume as being a floral smell but I would say rather one of more exotic type flowers. I consider that it has quite a strong smell but still remains subtle and warm. It lasts well and I don't think the fragrance changes very much over wearing for some hours but still it does become even nicer after half an hour, perhaps, than when first applied.
It is quite sophisticated and I do feel good when I spray Organza, sparingly, when I'm going out for an evening.
The top notes are of sap and honeysuckle.
Middle notes are of tuberose, gardenia and ylang-ylang.
The base notes are of nutmeg, amber, iris, vanilla, gardenia and woods.
When I first purchased this, I admit to being 'bought' by the bottle design, as well as by the perfume. The glass bottle is tall and slim, being smooth on one side and ridged on the other and I believe the shape mimics a feminine shape adorned in evening wear. The gold lid is ornate with interesting curves and coils. It looks good on dressing table and when given in the gold box it truly makes a special gift.
This fragrance is sold in various sizes, including 30 ml, 50 ml and 100 ml bottles. Organza is available in eau de parfum or eau de toilette.
Prices vary greatly with perfumes nowadays with many outlets offering bargains. It is available form many places, one being :
www.theperfumestore.co.uk who sell the eau de toilette with prices ranging from £23.99 to £39.99, depending on container size.
Boots sell the 30ml eau de parfum for £37.00.
Reason For Using:
Well I was actually given this Givenchy Organza perfume by my Mum as she had received it as a Birthday present and said she was put of it as she did not really like the sweetish scent it has to it. I had never tried Organza before myself, but my Mum let me have a little spray of it first to see what my opinion was of it and when I give it a sniff and told her that I thought it was quite nice, she told me I could keep it to use for myself. I find it is always nice to be given perfume as a gift, because apart from using the lovely scent to wear, I also really love collecting the unique bottles that many of the different perfumes come in and thought this little bottle that the Organza perfume came in looked very expensive, was quite stylish also, so thought it would be a lovely little addition to add to my perfume collection and was very pleased to have received it.
A Little About Givenchy Perfume:
Givenchy perfume was founded in 1957 by the Frenchman Hubert de Givenchy after he branched out of fashion design and into the beauty industry. He used to design a lot of Audrey Hepburn's (the famous actress) clothes and it was a combination of this French elegance with American glamour that give him the idea to create his first perfume called L'Interdit. Hubert de Givenchy dedicated his first perfume to his stylish friend Audrey Hepburn and over the years he designed and created many more great scents also.
The Givenchy Organza Eau de Perfume Spray was launched into the market in 1996 and although it has been around for a while now, it was the first time that I had ever heard or smelt it before myself until a few months ago. The Organza perfume is actually classed as a casual 'yet' romantic fragrance, but I would personally not agree with the casual wearing of it and would say it really is more of an evening fragrance to me as it is a stronger smelling perfume indeed. It certainly would be suited to a variety of emotions though, expressed through a number of the different blends that this unique fragrance contains. It really could be described as a more oriental floral fragrance in my opinion. I would personally say that this fragrance comes across as quite strong when first ever smelling it, but it does change a lot when you wear it for a few hours. Orangza might not suit some peoples tastes though.
The Gift Box:
Well the gift box that the Givenchy Organza perfume comes in is very expensive looking to me on first ever seeing it. It is a beautiful metallic gold gift box that really is very well designed and thought out. It has the words "Organza" clearly printed onto the front of the box in striking black lettering and around the sides of the gift box in red, gold and black are lovely little scroll motifs that really set the whole design of the gift box off. The red and black colours really do stand out against the gold background and compliment it all very well indeed. The size of the perfume bottle (mine is 30ml) is printed onto the gift box also and the makers name "Givenchy" can be found on the front of it also. Overall this is a lovely gift box that would be very nice to give to friends as a gift in and one that I was very happy to have received myself.
The Perfume Bottle:
The Organza Perfume bottle is really very elegant looking indeed. Apparently it was designed to resemble a Greek Goddess, although it does not look at all like a person to me. It is a very long, slim and quite sophisticated looking bottle. It really is very unique in design and looks impressive also. The bottle is made of clear glass which is handy to see the amount of perfume that you actually have got left inside it. Designed into the front of the glass bottle is what appears to me as the outline of a women's dress. It starts at the bottom of the bottle and beautifully curves right up onto the neck of it. The dress design is etched with thin lines which takes away the plainness of the glass and makes it really stand out. On the back of the perfume bottle are the words Organza, Givenchy Paris, Eau De Parfume and the size of the bottle all nicely etched onto the glass.
The lid (or stopper really) is what I personally think sets the whole design of the Organza perfume off. It is only made of a thick plastic material, but it is finished in a metallic gold colour and really stands out. The lid is round in shape and has a Scroll design rolled up at one side of it and a smaller one rolled outwards at the other. This really makes the bottle look very elegant, is rich looking in my opinion and to me, the lid is what certainly sets the whole perfume bottle off and really catches your eye.
The lid of the Organza perfume just pulls off from the top of the bottle. It does not screw on or off it either. It just sort of pops on and off the neck of the bottle quite easily. It is quite tightly secured though when in place and does not leak out any of the perfume that's inside the bottle when it is held upside down or when I carry it around in my handbag with me. There is also no spray pump with this perfume. Once you pop off the lid, it is just an open perfume bottle, although the neck is quite short on it and the little hole where the perfume comes out of is quite small. I just tip the bottle up onto my wrist when I am applying it and it just lets out a tiny bit of perfume each time, that I rub into my skin with my other wrist.
Overall it really is a very well designed, quite stylish and a very eye-catching perfume bottle in my opinion. It really does look very expensive to me and looks extremely well displayed on the glass shelf in my bedroom. The perfume bottle also lets out the perfect amount of fragrance each time onto my wrist and really does not overpower you with too much fragrance at all which is good as it saves wasting any of it also.
The Givenchy Organza Perfume really is quite unique in my opinion. It is an amber coloured perfume, which is easy to see inside the bottle. When first taking a sniff of it from the bottle, it really does come across as quite strong a scent and a little bit sweet smelling to me because of the Honeysuckle and gardenia notes it contains. Certainly do not go with your first impressions of it though, as the whole scent of this fragrance really does change a lot when you wear it and the sweetness does die down a lot when you apply it to your skin.
Well Organza really reminds me of the Coco Chanel perfume a lot, but not just as strong a fragrance or as overpowering as it really. It is quite strong though when you first apply it to your skin and some people may be really put of by this, but it does quickly soften down to a more oriental, flowery and quite powdery scent. It does at first have a little bit of a peppery spice coming through it, on taking a deeper sniff of it, but after you let it settle down and smell it again after around fifteen minutes, a more vanilla type of aroma starts to make it's way through it also, I find.
Organza really is a very different fragrance indeed and when smelling it from a distant or just catching a whiff of it from your skin it does smell of a powdery vanilla aroma and yet when you take a closer sniff of your skin, the fragrance almost changes into a completely different smelling floral one. It really is like wearing two fragrances at once. The fragrance does remain strong smelling though. Even after an hour or so it can be smelt from your skin at a distance. It is not overpowering really, but I honestly would not class this perfume as a casual wearing one at all. This is an evening fragrance to me. A romantic and a very sophisticated one also.
There is more notes included in this Organza fragrance, but I found it hard to find them all. I did include the main ones though above.
Well after a few hours of wearing Organza the perfume really dies down and the flower notes of the Honeysuckle and gardenia that are included fade down, to a sweeter, woody and more amber fragrance comes through instead. This perfume might then be too sweet for some people, but to me it really is very nice wearing it at this stage. After around six hours you then smell the fresher base notes of the nutmeg and the vanilla scent. It then really becomes a much lighter and powdery smelling fragrance to me.
Organza really is a very unique scent. It will come across as a very strong fragrance on first applying it to your skin, but I really think you need to give it a chance to settle down. The result of the blends in this fragrance really make it a very feminine one indeed. It really is a well balanced perfume and is a pleasure to wear it as it really comes across to me as a very sophisticated perfume. It starts off as a warm floral explosion really that is great for Summer wearing of it and finishes off as a lighter, fresh and quite romantic spicy fragrance that I personally love.
I really do only wear this fragrance on special occasion though as it is strong and will be smelt from afar. Wearing this perfume to work or during the daytime might overpower people around you so I honestly do not agree with the term that Givenchy have given to it of "Casual wear" This fragrance will get you noticed and will get you compliments on wearing it also. My husband likes this fragrance as he always compliments on this lovely aroma when I have it on.
Organza from Givenchy really is a strong and very long lasting fragrance indeed. I find when I apply this perfume when I am going out in the evenings, that it really can be smelt from my skin the next morning and that is without taking a whiff of it on my wrist or from my clothes. You really will smell the fragrance the next day if you do not wash it off. It will last very well and is certainly one of the most long lasting fragrances that I have ever used before. This really makes it a very good perfume though as a lot of the newer and more modern perfumes really do fade right of your skin in just a few hours of wearing them. If it's a stronger, long lasting perfume you are after, then Organza certainly would be a great choice for you.
My Overall Opinion Of Organza:
Well the Organza perfume really is a very rich and different type of fragrance that I find you will either love a lot or absolutely hate. It might not be suited either to the younger teenaged girls, as this is a lot stronger than the more modern celebrity perfumes that are around. It certainly is worth checking out though as it really makes a great evening wearing fragrance indeed and is one to wear out for meals or on special occasions for a smouldering seduction I find.
Organza, in my opinion, really is beautifully and sophisticatedly styled. It is femininity in full bloom when wearing it. It really is an elegant blend of floral, oriental and woody notes that work very well in creating this very likable and unique perfumed fragrance. It really will create a statement for strong and assured women and make you feel very sophisticated indeed. It is a perfume that I am actually pleased that I came across as it would not of been one I would ever have chosen for myself. I really do like wearing this fragrance a lot and it certainly makes me feel good when I do. I have worn it a few times and I am sure this 30ml bottle that I received will last a year or so, but when it is finished I certainly will not hesitate in buying another bottle of it.
I would have to highly recommend the Organza fragrance because I do really like it. It really is not a scent for girly girls though. It is a scent for sensuous women! It honestly will not appeal to everyone though because of the sweetness and strength of it's fragrance, but you really cannot judge this perfume though on first impressions of smelling it. You do need to wear it for half an hour or so and then decide if you like this fragrance or not because it really does change in scent a lot from when you first apply it to your skin. It is a beautiful long-lasting perfume that is ideal for those special occasions and for making you feel fresh and good about yourself. Organza is a classic. It has a touch of mystery with it, but it also is a timeless and elegant fragrance that will certainly get you many compliments. Well I love it and it certainly is one to test out for yourself.
Organza can be purchased online at the moment for around:
£33.00 ~ 30ml.
£43.00 ~ 100ml.
These prices do tend to vary a lot though I find, so do shop around on different sites. Look out for special offers and deals on it also. The Organza fragrance is also available in a body lotion and a shower gel.
Organza by Givency.......if i had to decribe it in one word, i would have to say 'delicious!'
It is a lovely fragrance, quite sweet and slightly spicy, however some might say it is a bit on the strong side.
I agree it is quite strong, however in my opinion that is a good thing as when i spray myself in the morning - the fragrance is still there hours later, unlike some other perfumes which can fade much faster. Also, when i wear this perfume, i do get a lot of positive comments from work colleagues.
I tend to wear this perfume mostly in the winter, and and night time - as it is rather musky and sexy!
Aswell as enjoying the fragrance, i also think that the packaging is stylish - the bottle looks good on the dressing table!
What else can i say, except I love this perfume!!
any perfume by givency has always been a firm fvourite of mine, i loe the subtle yet warm scent of this perfume. ialways am on he look out during xmas as organza have great gift sets. also the bottle tempted me the first time as i love elegant looking bottles of perfume. organza is always my 1st choice when going out or a celebrattion or dinner at home wth my husband. most perfumes irritate my skin but i found organza is so gentle on my skin as well as going a long way. the price is usually up to 30 pounds a bottle and if you purchase from boots the chemist you can earn enough points for your next bottle of organza. personally i love a good quality perfume and organza is what i would call affordable quality and a scent that is seductive and leaves you feeling all warm and glowy each time you get a whiff .
If you are looking for that special perfume, then look no further. It’s made by Givenchy and its full name is Organza Indecense, it comes in a striking black and gold box with blue and gold writing. The glass bottle is a very feminine shape with a lovely scroll like top, which is gold; it is the type of bottle that you could display on your dressing table. It is an Eau De Parfum spray the smell to me is very arousing, it’s very sweet, but spicy, you don’t need too much as it could be very over powering. It is strong and will last all day. I have had a few comments on it by work mates. Even the male staff has asked me what perfume I am wearing, so I can only think that it does attract the men. Good news for some of you girls out there. You could wear this for day or evening time; it comes in three sizes that I know of a miniature size of 5ml which costs around £4.00 but is not a spray. Then there is the 30ml size spray costing £42.00 and lastly the 50ml spray, which I am not sure about the price, but I, would of thought it would be about £55.00.It is available at most large stores and some chemists. For those of you that might like to know the ingredients, they are Alcohol, Aqua, octyl methoxcin-namate butyl, salicylate and benzophenone, as I know some people can be allergic to some perfumes. It is expensive and I would not probably buy it myself, just ask my husband very nicely.(Lol).I just love the aroma from this fabulous perfume as it makes me feel great. I have now added this to one of my favorites and if you like staying power in a perfume then this is the one I can recommend. Thanks for reading Cindystar
Launched in 1996, this floral, oriental, woody fragrance combines the freshness of sap, honeysuckle and rosewood with the voluptuousness of gardenias, poppies and tuberoses and the intensity and timelessness of amber and nutmeg.
