Advantages: smells nice, comes in a nice bottle, long lasting, large target audience
Disadvantages: not my first choice
Givenchy Organza is a perfume made by Givenchy. You will probably have seen it, with its tall unique bottle and its fancy lid, this perfume is a bit of a classic.
I must point out that I only have a miniature bottle of this, which I received as part of a gift set of miniatures a while back.
~ Price ~
Givenchy Organza is available at Boots, Debenhams, House of Fraser and most other department stores. It is also available online at Cheapsmells.com.
It comes in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml eau de parfum bottles.
The 30ml bottle is available on Cheapsmells.com costs £29.45 (recommended retail price £39.50).
The 50ml bottle is available on Cheapsmells.com for £39.95 (RRP £56.50).
The 100ml bottle is available on Cheapsmells.com for £56.95 (RRP £79.00).
~ Bottle ~
The perfume comes in a tall glass bottle which curves on one side so that from the bottom of the bottle it appears to be a semi-circle shape, but then on the flat side of the bottle a ridged hourglass shape sticks out, making the bottle an odd shape.
The lid of the bottle is a gold colour and features a large curl on one side and a small curl at the other side and has a rounded shape in the middle. From the side it reminds me of a sleigh, the rounded shape in the middle being Santa's sack! It is a really nice lid and I think it makes the bottle interesting and helps it to stand out.
~ Scent ~
The scent is rather floral. I find it quite heavy, but very feminine. It seems to settle a bit to a more subtle powdery scent.
Fragrantica.com says, 'Organza is a magical mix of classical sensuality, delicacy and warmth, a hymn to eternal beauty possessed by every woman. An attractive bottle designed by Serge Manseau is the embodiment of virtues of this fragrance, which is oriental-floral, warm and sweet. It is composed of intoxicating notes of opulent white flowers: gardenia, tuberose and jasmine. The combination is incredibly exciting; soft vanilla in the base tames the voluptuous luxuriance of the floral heart.'
As mine is a miniature I have hardly used it at all as I tend to keep miniatures for occasions when I don't have space to carry a larger perfume, which tends to be on nights out, when I carry a smaller handbag or a clutch bag.
I would say Organza is more of a daytime scent rather than for nights out or special occasions and fortunately I have enough other miniatures not to have had to use this one on nights out.
I think this perfume is suitable for women of all ages. I am in my 20's and I really like this and could imagine my sisters, mother and grandmother would all appreciate this one. It is floral, but inoffensive.
I have found it to be long-lasting and overall I am really pleased with this perfume.
~ Overall ~
Overall, I think this is a pleasant, floral perfume. It has a nice bottle and a nicer lid. I would consider buying a larger bottle of this perfume, but for the moment there are other perfumes higher up my 'want list'.
I would recommend this perfume for yourself or it would make a great gift, especially as it is a scent that I think women of all ages would find appealing!
Summary: A classic!
