This fragrance ended up in my hands when I was recovering from a rough patch in my life. My close friend brought it me to make me feel better and I think she went by the title of the perfume.
This bottle is a 3D version of a triangle and tri means three so it's making me hint at what three things it represents. It has three tones of pink with the darkest at the bottom and it fades into lighter pink in the middle and fades to clear when it reaches the top. The liquid itself is clear.
-How it smells-
When the top is off and the smell lingers to your nose. You can smell the scent of flowers- mainly roses, with a slight musky smell of vintage. So I believe it can be used for morning, evening or night time use.
When it's applied to skin the scent lasts for around a couple of hours.
-Where to buy-
Your can buy this product from Boots and costs £34.50 for 30ml and £47.50 for 50ml. When you uy from Boots you can earn 4 points per £1 spent and each point is worth 1p.
I personally dont think its work it's money so I would rather wait until its on offer.
This product was made in France.
This is a review of Givenchy Very Irresistible eau de toilette, a perfume I received very happily for Christmas. It's not one I would have automatically picked for myself as it is advertised as a Rose fragrance, but I was assured that it was indeed very nice as they had tested it in the department store before buying.
This product is visually represented by Liv Tyler in the advertisements. She strikes me as a good figurehead for this fragrance which is described as 'seductive and feminine'. Givenchy are the makers of this fragrance and they are combining fashion, and the glamorous days of cinema in this French inspired eau de toilette.
What's in it?
Delicately fresh Anise forms the opening notes, middle notes are centrifola rose and peony rose which is 'warm and comfortable' so you can see by the ingredients it is bordering on a classical fragrance.
The bottle is tall and elegant with a slightly larger base so it balances well . It has a silver collar at the top and looks very elegant. In addition to the pink box, the glass bottle has a pink blush throughout it (going lighter toward the top) which is very cute. I hate throwing away perfume boxes as they are lovely but impractical to keep your perfume in if you intend to use on a regular basis.
This fragrance takes me back to the mid nineties, it reminds me of those nights getting ready to go out and sharing other people's (mum's) perfumes sneakily! It does not smell like a 'modern' perfume to me.
This is not a fragrance for youngsters, and it's not something I would usually enjoy wearing but sometimes it is nice to have a change from my usual tendency towards jasmine based perfumes! This is not a perfume I choose for every day wear but as it's still 'new' to me I feel special when I do put it on.
This is quite a premium perfume, as I was writing this review I had to look up the price (although it's not nice to do that with a present!). A 75 ml bottle (like I have) retails at £45.54. I realise that you can shop around but a 75ml bottle is quite a generous size. On Amazon you can buy a 30 ml bottle for £39.75 so it's much better value to go for the big size.
I love the name of this perfume, 'Very Irresistible' - it does make it seem mysterious and alluring. Its ingredients of rose should not put you off, it's not the elderly lady perfume although it is an adult and mature scent. This fragrance is very fresh and gives you a boost when you spritz it on.
So the best way of figuring out how good I think a perfume is is to ask myself would I rebuy again when this one runs out? My 75ml bottle is going to last ages so I have plenty of time to think this one out. I think I would maybe have a break from it but it is quite likely that I would return to this perfume again in the future.
Every time I saw the advertisement with the beautiful Liv Tiler, I told myself I was to buy it next time I needed a new perfume. Unfortunately, I either forgot or prefered to try other new fragrances and it was only a couple of weeks ago I bouhnt it for the first time in my life. First of all, before writing a review on this product, I would like to say that the fragrance corresponds 100% to its"title" and to its name: it IS irresistable and one more time, Givenchy preved to be one of the best perefume creators ... I do love this fragrance, it original and glamourous design and of course, it has becomeone of my favourites...
Why do I like it?
1. Fragrance: very floral with a light touch of lemon and spicy scents. Rather strong but as long as you keep wearing it, it becomes lighter and less strong. Very sexy, very feminine, very sensual and can be worn all day long; it is one of those perfumes that can be good to be worn at work and at the same time they are suitable to be worn at a soirée or at a dinner party. Abslutely chic, class, attracts attention.
2. I would like to say that the fragrance is pretty good lasting and used once a day in the morning , it lasts all day long. I would find it useful to notice that it loses a bit of its inicial intensity, but doesn't disappear quickly and and stays remakable quite a time ...
3. Quality = price: it may seem rather expensive at first glance, however taking into account that it lasts basicly all day long, it is worthy of the money paid for it.
Summary: one of the best perfumes I have ever tried in my life.
Absolutely, really very irresistable and long lasting
Anyone who has read my perfume reviews will probably have noted that, for the most part, they are all budget buys - I don't think I have ever spent more than around £17 on a perfume for myself, and in fact my favourite perfume, the one I wear most, only cost me £4 from Primark. I do have a few more expensive perfumes though - mostly birthday or Christmas presents - amongst them this one, which I believe my mum gave me a couple of years ago.
The bottle is very simple and understated . Its almost a solid rectangular column in shape, apart from at the bottom where one side flares out slightly to one side. For some reason it makes me think of someone turning slowly in a long elegant dress - it's a sort of swishing king of angle. There is a pink colour to the bottle, darker at the bottom and becoming lighter as it rises, eventually becoming clear at the top, where the bottle neck is decorated with a silver band bearing the 'Givenchy' name and the name of the perfume embossed into it . The sprayer part is also silver in clear.
I feel that this is probably the perfume I am going to struggle hardest to describe scent wise . Let me explain why. Whilst I have a fair enough nose to be able to distinguish between, for example, a rose and a geranium in terms of smell, my nose is not accurate or trained enough to be able to tell you what kind of rose specifically I am smelling. I've only really taken to wearing perfume in the last 3 years, so my nostrils are stil getting used to the whole smell thing. So, this perfume, containing as it does a blend of 5 different rose scents (Centifolia Rose, Peony Rose, Fantasia Rose, Passion Rose, Emotion Rose) , is a bit of a bugger on my poor nose.
Upon first spraying, roses is exactly what I get as the main fragrance. In fact, for about ten minutes, roses is pretty much all I get. It's pretty strong, and a sort of 'moist' smell if that makes sense, almost as if I'm smelling a fresh cut flower just after the rain. It's very heady and strong too!
Giving the scent a little time to develop, a hint of star anise begins to creep through - and not before time. The rose scent was lovely enough, but I found it just a touch too overpowering on it's own for me, and the little hint of eastern spice gives the scent an added dimension, making it richer and sweeter.
However, before long, the scent becomes even more overpoweringly rose scented. As I mentioned already, I really can't tell one rose from another. I failed to really pick up on any other scents at all .
The perfume overall has a really strong and heady floral scent - better suited to evening wear rather than day wear. It is very powerful and sensual, and has that kind of moist scent to it, so it really does smell like fresh roses rather than anything artificial. Despite me not being able to identify the rose types individually, there is definitely some kind of layering to the scents development that perhaps a better trained nose would be able to pick out, and this is far from a simple scent . I also think there is a certain formality to the scent, and that it would be best suited to evening wear on special or romantic occasions, rather than casual wear.
You only need a couple of squirts to get a nice strong scent , however I don't find the scent particularly long lasting, probably only a few hours. Given that this perfume isn't cheap, (you're likely to pay £40 upwards for a 75ml bottle) that is something of a disappointment.
I do like this - but I find that my bottle is still almost full, as I don't really have many occasions where I feel a perfume like this, so headily floral, would be suited. Plus I think my main preference is towards fruity florals or oriental scents, and this just doesn't fit my personality. It's always worth remembering that scent reacts differently to different skin types though - a friend of mine stole a couple of squirts, and I felt it smelt much nicer on her than it did on me!
4 stars - a heady and sensual scent, just not one I often wear!
I absolutely love shopping in Boots just before Christmas. Their 3 for 2 deals are amazing most of the time and I can usually pick up most of my make-up and cosmetics for the rest of the year during that sale but this year me and my mom decided to buy something a little bit different in the sales - perfume. Boots had 3 or 4 sets that had loads of sample sized bottles in them and then we halved them between us - I must have saved about £40! Anyway one of the bottles I got in the set was this 'Givenchy Very Irresistible' which I have to say I was quite looking forward to trying. Simply because before using this I dont think Id actually used a Givenchy brand perfume before so I was interested to see if the brand lived up the hype - everyone seems to love Givenchy and their perfumes - so I wondered whether I would as well.
Price: 30ml bottle - Around £25
Stockists: Amazon, The Perfume Shop, Superdrug, Boots, Bodycare etc...
Other Info: Also available in 50 & 100ml bottles - those are obviously more expensive!! This scent is described as 'sensual & feminine' by Givenchy.

As I mentioned I have the small sample sized bottle of this but the design is exactly the same as the proper bottle just much smaller. This perfume comes in a small glass bottle that is sort of prism shaped with lots of jutting edges - thankfully though the bottle is totally flat so its easy to display this on your dressing table. The bottle starts off at the bottom a bright pink which fades all the way up until the top is more or less clear - but even through the colour the bottle is transparent so you can see exactly how much you have left to use, which in my case isnt very much hehe. At the top of the bottle [the one I own anyway] is a small plastic lid which can be pulled off and then you dab the bottle onto your skin to transfer the perfume - if you have the full sized bottle it probably has a small spray nozzle on the top rather than the design I own. The bottle design is very simple in colour and overall shape but I think thats lovely - it looks effortlessy classy and stylish without being to OTT - so it seems to fit in with the brand name well.

Im pretty rubbish when it comes to describing the individual notes in a fragrance so I did have a little peek around the bet to find this lst - thanks to BaseNotes I found the notes in this perfume are:
Top Notes: Cassia, Anise & Lemon Verbena.
Middle Notes: Peony, Magnolia & Rose
Base Notes: Amber, Musk & Vanilla
Judging by those ingredients alone I would assume that this is a very floral perfume with a heavier more average base. But while that assumption is sort of right this perfume has much more to offer than just smelling like flowers!
When I first smelt this I was actually shocked by how fruity it smells when you first apply it. I still have no idea where those fruity notes come from because none of the notes jump out at me - I guess it must the Lemon Verbana as I have no idea what that actually smells like! The fruity notes do die down pretty quickly but stay present throughout wearing - just not as strong as the floral ones. The Magnolia and Rose are definitely the strongest of all the notes throughout wearing this which gives the perfume its floral edge which wouldnt normally be something Id enjoy. I dont like floral perfumes that much but I really like this one because the floral notes all compliment each other well without one being stronger than the other and they make the scent overall beautiful and a very pleasant one for me to wear.
The bottom scents of Vanilla, Amber & Musk are really noticable towards the end with the vanilla being the one I picked out first and the one most people will be able to smell quite strongly when this has died right down. This is a gorgeous fragrance that only gets better the longer you have this on your skin - it warms right up and that makes the scent stronger and much nicer in my opinion. It really is a gorgeous, feminine and sensual fragrance.

The staying power for this perfume is amazing in my opinion. I apply this first thing in the morning before work and it is still strong and noticable enough at the end of my shift - at least 6 hours - so thats brilliant in my opinion. You wont have to keep applying this all the time which will make your bottle last much longer.
I would recommend this perfume for 20's and upwards as I think it might be a little heavy for teenagers below that age. Having said that Im only 19 and I wear this all the time so its definitely a matter of taste with this perfume.
Day Or Night? Summer Or Winter?:
I personally wear this one all the time regardless of season or time of day BUT Id say it would probably be more suited for afternoon/night wear but in any season. Its heavy yet the floral notes help it remain light.
I 100% recommend this to everyone even if this would be your usual brand or type of perfume as it certainly wouldnt be mine! As with all perfumes though I recommend testing it out first to make sure this suits you and your skin.
Thanks For Reading.

Givenchy Very Irresistible was a perfume I received a sample of in a Boots gift set a couple of years ago. Described as "the world's first aromatic floral", it is supposedly "spontaneous, daring and sensual". The perfume comes in an attractive tall, angular, twisted bottle that is pink on the bottom but fades out to become clear towards the top. It is handy that it is easy to see how much perfume you have left.
The perfume contains rose notes as well as star anise and verbena leaf. Mandarin and peach are also present. The perfume is very light, fresh, floral and pleasant. It is sweet but not overpowering, although it may be too sweet for some.
I think this perfume would suit anyone of any age, although I imagine it appealing more to those in their mid twenties or above, rather than teenagers. It is light enough for daytime, grown up enough for work and complex enough for night, although I tend to wear the companion perfume, Very Irresistible Sensual, at night. Having said that, although I do like this perfume I don't know if it is all that distinctive. If I smelled it on someone else I don't think I would recognise it for the perfume it is. For this reason, although it's a nice perfume, I've only given it three stars.
Givenchy Very Irresistible costs £33.50 for 30ml and £44.50 for 50ml according to the Boots website, but is widely available at perfume retailers.
This is a nice perfume. I like to try lots of different perfumes so I don't think I would buy it again but it is nice fragrance.
I paid about £30.00 for this which I think is about average for a good quality perfume. The bottle is one of the things that attracted me most to this perfume as it is a shocking pink that really stands out and the bottle is a very sleek shape that is easy to hold as it is curved.
The smell of this perfume is floral and feminine and I think it is really more of a day perfume than a night perfume as it is very soft and sweet and fresh but not very strong. One thing that lets this perfume down is that it doesn't last for very long. Once I put it on I only noticed it for about an hour before it seemed to wear off so in that respect it is not as good value for money as other perfumes as you do need to apply it more often. Although it is a good perfume if you don't want something too heavy and overpowering.
I received a bottle of this perfume as a gift and was a bit wary to be honest - I hadn't heard anything about or even tested this fragrance, so I was a little dubious about whether it would suit me or not.
When I opened the slightly alarming shocking pink packaging, I was impressed by the bottle. It is a vaguely triangular shape (ie it has three "corners" to the bottle) but somehow twists upwards which looks very elegant on my dressing table. It is the same shocking pink as the box at the base of the bottle, which becomes clearer at the top. It is a very heavy duty plastic, which is cool and tactile to touch - all in all a very clever bit of design.
The fragrance itself is quite sweet when first applied, and at first I thought it was going to be a bit too overly girlie for me. However, when the scent settles, a more sensual undertone comes through and makes for a fragrance that is much more special.
The main fragrance at the heart of this perfume is roses - but don't think old lady's hanky smell, this is a truly modern fragrance. Mixed in to the fragrance is a hint of star anise and patchouli for a bit of warmth.
This is a really fab fragrance - light enough to wear during the day, but sensual enough to make me feel very feminine and elegant - truly is very irresistible.
As you can tell, I have been really pleased with this fragrance, and I think it would suit most people, although I guess the sweetness may be a little too much for some.
As I received my bottle as a gift so I don't know how much it cost, but having checked a few websites - Boots, Amazon etc it seems to be around £30 for 30ml. Now that seems like quite a lot to me, but if any more lovely friends were to buy me another bottle, I would be very happy to receive it! Alternatively, I will look out for a reduced price gift set after Christmas and buy myself a treat.
I bought this perfume by Givenchy on holiday last month after trying a tester in the shop, and it is now one of my favourite perfumes! I have loads of different perfumes but I still buy loads on holiday because they are a lot cheaper, and they last ages anyway.
Very irresistible by Givenchy attracted me with its bright pink packaging. The bottle inside is very sleek and is also pink, darker pink at the bottom and lighter as it gets to the top. This perfume looks very feminine and cute, and it is very lightweight, so great to carry the whole bottle with you in your hand bag.
The scent is very light, not heavy at all, and this perfume lasts the whole day without any need at all to top it up. I always get compliments on how nice this perfume is, even later on in the day people still notice it, which just shows how good this perfume is. You only need one or two sprays too, and the scent lingers for ages. I can never smell it on myself after about two hours, but others do still notice it.
It smells very fresh and floral, without being sickly or too sweet. It isn't too strong, and it can be worn at any time of the day or night. It also looks great on my dressing table, as the bottle is very sophisticated and looks really expensive even though it isn't. I cant remember what I paid on holiday in euros for mine, but after looking on boots you can get a 30ml bottle for £33.50, which is actually a bit more expensive than others I like but it is definitely worth the money.
I highly recommend this fragrance by Givenchy, it is fresh and is suitable for women of all ages, and lasts ages too! I will definitely be trying more fragrances from Givenchy in the future.
I absolutely adore this perfume, especially in summer, due to its warm, floral fragrance which is fresh as well as being slightly woody and seductive. I initially got this perfume in miniature form as part of a Givenchy gift set. Since then, I have bought this perfume time and time again, because of its unique and fresh scent which I cannot get enough of.
** The Perfume **
Very Irresistible is a fresh and vibrant scent which is mainly composed of rose notes. Star anise and verbena leaf are also present in a subtle form. The fragrance also has quite a zesty, fresh element to it created through the notes of mandarin and peach. This perfume is certainly economical as one spray first thing in the morning will last all day. I absolutely adore the unique, fresh and zesty scent of this perfume. I think that Very Irresistible is ideal for those summer months as well as daily wear all year round. I do not think this fragrance has a specific age for which it would be suited for, but perhaps the quirky design of the bottle, the pink colourings and the youthful scent suggest that it is aimed for the younger generation. However, I think this fragrance has such a fresh and vibrant smell, that it will appeal to all ages, especially for summer wear.
** The Packaging **
Very Irresistible comes in a pink, almost shimmery cuboid shaped box which truly reflects the vibrance of the scent inside. The glass perfume bottle has a pinkish tone to it and the bottle itself is twisted into quite a unique distorted shape. I like the fact that, although the bottle has some colour to it, you can easily see the perfume and how much you have left.
** The Price **
Very Irresistible is available from:
Next 30ml - £34.00
House of Fraser 30ml - £33.50
The Perfume Shop 30ml - £32.99
May be available cheaper online.
This is a gorgeous fragrance which is very vibrant and perfect for those summer months. I think this fragrance would suit any one of any age.
Got myself a testsample of this perfume last week, and because I never used this perfume brand it was a usefull sample to try!
**About Givenchy** Hubert de Givenchy was born in 1928 and is known for its stylish and classic fashion. He was on top of the Givenchy company from 1956 to 1995. Audrey Hepburn and Jacky Kennedy were so called Givenchy women and they wore many of Givenchy's designs. In 1988 Givenchy sold his company to Louis Vuitton, for financial reasons. Givenchy stayed head of design untill his retirement in 1995. He always worked in a white lab coat. Givenchy collections are available for women and men.
**Givenchy fragrances** Nowadays Givenchy has a nice collection of eau de colognes and eau de toilettes in their range of products. With names like PI, Hot couture and very irresisteble, Givenchy has an attractive range of fragrances to choose from.
**Givenchy very irresistible**This fragrance was introduced in 2005 and comes in a nice pink glass bottle with a silver spray button. The scent of this perfume is best described as sweet, flowery and elegant. I like the sweet smell, but it is not my favorite smell for the simple reason it is a bit too sweet for my taste. A major advantage of this perfume is the fact that it doesn't evaporates that quickly so just spray it once a day and you'll be good to go all day long. The smallest bottle will cost you around 60 pounds.
Nice perfume, nice scent, but expensive as well
Givenchy is a world known fashion and beauty brand founded by Hubert de Givenchy and launched in 1952.
Givenchy Very Irresistable EDT is one of many Givenchy female scents. It is infused with a blend of 5 roses and star anise to complete the scent by giving it a sense of modernity and freshness.
Givenchy released this perfume in 2003 and the promotion campaign was fronted by the beautiful Liv Tyler.
Givenchy state that this EDT has the "Givenchy Twist" as it combines French elegance and American spontaneity.
The EDT comes in a tall, glass bottle. The bottle has 3 side panels twisted around the base which is in the shape of a triangle. The glass has been tainted an intense pink at the bottom and slowly adapts lighter and lighter til the top of the bottle is only a hint of pink. There is then a silver band around the top of the bottle with Givenchy Very Irresistable engraved onto it. The lid is a curved triangle and quite chunky and houses the spray which is a standard, silver effect spray.

I was lucky enough to receive a partially used bottle of Givenchy Irresistable from my sister who was having a clear out. I am not normally one for floral scents though I cannot resist a freebie especiially if it is perfume or cosmetic related so I was happy!
I have always been drawn to this perfume when visiting stores such as House of Fraser and Debenhams though never had enough cash on me to buy it.
The bottle is very feminine and rather sexy. It certainly isn't one you would be ashamed to have sitting on your dresser or bring out to spray at work. The pink shades are perfect and compliment each other fantastically without making the bottle look cheap. The twist is lovely and makes a welcome change from plain shaped bottles and the little silver band around the top makes it look even more special.
The lid is quite chunky and seems to make the sprayer look bigger than it is. The spray is simple to use as with most perfumes and it is easy to push down to dispense a spray.
Like I said before, floral isn't my thing. I am usually a sweet sort of perfume girl but this fragrance suprised me.
Spraying the perfume onto my wrist, I am met with a extremely strong rose scent which after a few minutes calms down to become sweet and rather sensual. It is quite a fresh scent though and would be best suited to day time use with something more sexy for night time use. Givenchy also sell other variants of this perfume for different occasions which is well worth looking into.
I only sprayed once on my wrist and rubbed and a light spray on my neck. The perfume sprays out evenly and has a cool touch on the skin. I did not need to top up my perfume during the day as the scent is quite strong and stays evident on the skin for many hours. To me this is a sign of quality and some cheap perfumes just cannot live up to this.
Overall this perfume suprised me. I expected it to be overly floral and just not for me but despite first impressions when it was sprayed and was too strong, it does calm down. The lasting smell is sweet and sensual and perfect for any age.
I will use up my bottle of Givenchy Very Irresistable but unless I can pick this up super cheap, it won't be one I will be buying myself. I do gladly except gifts though!
Thanks for reading
Givenchy-Very Irresistable Eau de Toilette is one of my favourite perfumes. Compared to some of the other leading brands which I also purchase, this perfume is extremely well priced. I would advise you to buy the 75ml or 100ml bottles though as the price difference of the small bottles isn't actually that much. The fragrance is extremely fruity and lasts for a long time. With this perfume you don't actually need to apply much and the smell can still be smelt for hours. The bottle is well presented and perfect for girls and women who like a nice floral fragrance. The Eau de Parfum by Givenchy, which comes in a red bottle is a more popular seller (I was informed of this by Boots the chemist, Superdrug and also at duty free at the airport), but if you like a fruity and subtle fragrance then this one would be more ideal for you. The smell leaves you wanting to smell more. I would recommend this fragrance as an evening fragrance more than a daytime one-I can also recommend the summer fragrance which they do, in a similar bottle with an added hint of orange to the bottle.
Very Irrisistible by Givenchy. I was first bought this eau de toilette by my mum and dad as a present. They bought it in America before it was out over here. It is a lovely fresh light fragrance and not to sickly sweet like so many of them are. My boyfriend has since bought me all the other versions of this eau de toilette for various birthdays and christmas presents. They usually bring out a summer version every year and these are always lovely. The most recent version in a red bottle with diamantes on is a more musky wintery scent, and although it is really nice for some reason it makes my asthma and allergies act up - I haven't experienced this with any of givenchys other perfumes though. In short a light simple everyday fragrance more suitable for women aged 20 to 50. And it looks good on the dressing table too!
I bought this perfume whilst on holiday, I like sweet smells but the usual perfume I wanted was too expensive so I went for this after the sales lady sprayed some onto the test paper.
I got the large bottle, a body creme and a small handy sized bottle. The small bottle is perfect for my handbag and doesn't spray too much so it's lasting a while.
The smell is a sweet smell but not too sickly, it's nice for day and night however don't spray too much as it can be a bit overwhelming during the day. The cap of the bottle can be a bit fiddly and mine doesn't stay on very well (in my handbag), you have to make sure you get the cap the right way for it to 'click'. The bottle however is nice and attractive and the box I got my set in is also nice so I now keep odds and ends in it.
