Advantages: The gorgeous smell

*Introduction*

I was first bought this fragrance two Christmases ago by my boyfriend's parents. I am 'supposedly' a hard person to buy a gift for so he suggested to them this perfume as earlier in the year I had been given a few free samples and fallen in love with it.

*The Claim*

Very Irresistible Givenchy is an aromatic floral fragrance. Spontaneous, daring and sensual, it pays homage to the brands historic culture and reflects the irresistible woman who has a certain 'je-ne-sais-quoi'.

*About the Product (What The Brand Has To Say)*

Pink from top to bottom, Very Irresistible Givenchy's floral notes centre around a plethora of roses from a multiplicity of origins and notes. Its central floral harmony is made up of five rose notes: daring peony, spontaneous fantasia, intense passion rose, sensual emotion rose and elegant centrifolia rose. Following this is the aromatic notes of the fragrance: an innovative harmony of Star Anise with a pinch of Verbena leaves. Star Anise, with its fragrance of fennel or sun-baked grass, provides a delicate touch of contrast, while verbena leaves illuminate the overall freshness and naturalness.

Liv Tyler, with her totally modern yet timeless look is the face of Very Irresistible Givenchy. The fragrance emphasises Liv's attitude: an irresistible charm coupled with elegance and femininity.

I understand that this sounds expensive but believe me this perfume is gorgeous. Truly sensational. I think that it is complete value for money and that if you buy it either for yourself or as a gift (if you're a generous boyfriend/husband/parent) then you will not regret it.

This perfume can be purchased from a number of different places including Debenhams, Boots, The Perfume Shop and House of Fraser. It is also available to buy online from www.boots.com, a favourite shop of mine that is very reliable.

*My Opinion*

The packaging: Sophisticated and elegant are two words that I would use when describing the packaging of this product. It comes in a very bright, cerise pink box which, if you are anything like me, you will through away pretty much straight away. What is important is the style and packaging of the bottle of this perfume because unlike some product where packaging doesn't matter, this perfume is long-lasting and will be sitting on your desk for a fair few months.

The bottle shape is quite peculiar. It is triangle at the base and the body of the body twists as it goes up. It's actually pretty cool. I have the 50ml bottle and it stands quite tall so put it towards the back of your dressing table or you might find yourself knocking it over quite a bit. I learnt the hard way.

The colour of the glass is a tinted pink colour. It is a gorgeous, deep pink at bottom of the bottle and the colour gets lighter towards the top. I think the colouring is fantastic and clever as it is girly due to the pink yet sophisticated and classy because of the design. The tinting is a perfect shade so that you can still see how much of the perfume is left in the bottle. At the top of this bottle, there is a silver coloured metal strip that circles the top. On this strip, the product name 'Givenchy Very Irresistible' is written. It is things like this that make the bottle stand out from others.

A round of applause goes to the design team on this one. The product looks elegant, sophisticated and chic. It looks Very Irresistible! Although I must admit I was not a fan of the lid. It is a clear hard plastic but it will only click onto the bottle one way. I quickly got fed up of the fiddling about I had to do with this and threw the lid away.

The smell: Floral, girly and summery. These are three adjectives that I would use to describe this gorgeous perfume. It is a light perfume that lingers nicely throughout the day, oozing a feminine scent. If you like the smell of roses, this perfume will suit you down to the ground as I believe this is the most prominent smell.

The light, summery smell makes me think that it is perfect for wear during the day although it may not have the impact that you desire for wear in the evening on a night out. It is also the ideal perfume to wear to work. This is because it is not overpowering or in your face yet one which is noticeable.

How many squirts of the perfume are required? I suggest that only 2 or 3 sprays are necessary. The smell is not overpowering after this amount but you can smell its stunning aroma perfectly.

Staying power: When sprayed, Givenchy Very Irresistible Eau de Toilette lasts a very long time. With some of the perfumes that I wear, the smell has disappeared within a few hours. This is definitely not the case with Very Irresistible. When I spray this on in the morning, the smell is still lingering softly throughout the day. You may have to reapply if going out in the evening or alternatively spray more initially.

Longevity of the product: The size of the bottle that I own is the 50ml. It is difficult to say how long it lasts as I alternate the perfumes that I use on a regular basis to prevent me from getting bored of just one. Like I said earlier, I was given this perfume two Christmases ago and I would estimate that if I had used it on a daily basis it would last approximately 8 or 9 months. I still have a tiny bit left now and I have used it a lot.

*Would I Recommend This Perfume?*

There is absolutely no question in my mind that I would recommend this perfume. It is my favourite at the moment for wear during the day. It isn't overpowering so those of your who dislikes perfume that makes the room smell will be satisfied with this.

I think it is a perfume that will suit all ages as I love it and am 21 yet it is also my aunties favourite and she is in her fifties.

*Overall*

Perfume is quite a difficult product to review, but I hope that I have made clear that this is one of the best around. If you are looking for a fresh, floral scent that is perfect for the day due to its lack of overpowering smell then BINGO, you've found it in this. It has a gorgeous feminine smell that is in my opinion completely and utterly value for money.

Givenchy Very Irresistible Eau de Toilette is the perfect gift for the special lady in your life so keep it in mind for the Christmas present that you'll be buying in the next few months.
