I asked for insolence by Guerlian for Christmas, after trying some on in Boots. I don't usually wear perfume, but I was impressed with the dark, sexy smell of this, which is very different to the sweet, synthetic smell of many perfumes. The perfume according to Guerlian: Guerlian state the 'concept' for this perfume as being 'Free, Daring, Unpredictable, Radiant'. I came across Insolence by Guerlain from a sponsorship advert on ITV, the advert was on before after the show and twice during each set of advert breaks on each hour long episode of the programme series. After being brainwashed I thought I have to know what this fragrance smells like. I went off in search and found it in The Fragrance Shop. I got the tester and immediately fell in love with Insolence. It was so fresh and deep. I couldn't quite figure out what the scents were that I could pick out, every time I smelt it I seemed to pick out a different feel, it was sickly sweet and strong but at the same time slightly spicy. I can honestly say I have never before purchased a Guerlain perfume until I smelled Insolence. They've never appealed to me, perhaps because both my elderly aunt and grandmother were both big fans and their scent, although memorable for me from childhood, was not one I wanted to replicate on myself. Come Christmas 2007 and I am in Boots, desperately searching for a present for my best friend, frantically searching for a scent that stood out, that captivated and wasn't just another sickly sweet clone that has become the norm in young perfume. Wow what can I say?! This is my all time favorite perfume! I smelt it on a friend and borrowed it on a night out. I woke up in the morning and I still could smell the sweet aroma of this fabulous perfume! The scent reminds me of those Parma Violet sweets you used to get at school, combined with a dark sexy smell. It's quite an unusual aroma. I have had numerous compliments from people (mostly men!) telling me I smell fantastic! I simply love it!
