I asked for insolence by Guerlian for Christmas, after trying some on in Boots. I don't usually wear perfume, but I was impressed with the dark, sexy smell of this, which is very different to the sweet, synthetic smell of many perfumes. The perfume according to Guerlian: Guerlian state the 'concept' for this perfume as being 'Free, Daring, Unpredictable, Radiant'. Hilary Swank is the face of Guerlian, apparrently embodying the concept. They claim the perfume has an 'Olfactory Spiral' of Sparkling Violets, Rays of Iris and Glints of Red Berries. Packaging: this perfume comes in a beautiful, intresting bottle, with the Guerlian signature on ... Read the complete review

This fragrance by Guerlain is Fruity but soft. Playful, uplifting, warm & deep. Opens with sweet raspberry notes, lemon-cake-like citrusy trace. Continues with almond blossom notes, sweet & pure jasmine, patchouli. Also with notes of tonka beans, powdery vanilla. It sounds like a overpowering combination but I can assure you that is not the case with this fragrance. I first smelt this fragrance on someone I worked with, the scent was absolutely beautiful. Everytime this lady walked past me I could smell it as strongly as before and I fell in love....It is stunning, strong but not too much, it is so feminine young and sexy - deep but not too ... This is another one of my dinky bargain 5ml minatures that I picked up in the Boots sale after Christmas. The bottle is so sweet - the perfume is contained within a semi-sphere and is a fab rosy pink colour - I love it when perfumes are delicately coloured - it just shows that an extra little bit of thought has been taken when designing and makes it feel even more of a treat. The first impression of this perfume is I admit rather odd - Guerlain call it surprising, which is probably a better way to describe it - but it just smells a bit of a mismatch and quite a sharp scent. When applied to my skin and warmed up a bit the scent develops ... Read the complete review

I can honestly say I have never before purchased a Guerlain perfume until I smelled Insolence. They've never appealed to me, perhaps because both my elderly aunt and grandmother were both big fans and their scent, although memorable for me from childhood, was not one I wanted to replicate on myself. Come Christmas 2007 and I am in Boots, desperately searching for a present for my best friend, frantically searching for a scent that stood out, that captivated and wasn't just another sickly sweet clone that has become the norm in young perfume. I sprayed Insolence onto the card and can't say I was really expecting anything other than the above, so boy was I ... Read the complete review

I picked this perfume up initially because I really liked the design of the bottle. I hadn't really heard much about this perfume before I saw it but it was launched in 2006 and so it isn't exactly that new. The brand Guerlain are not one that I know too much about and I definitely have not used any of their fragrances before and so I was intrigued to see what the smell would be like. The bottle gives off the idea that it would have a very feminine and fresh scent and I hoped that it was. PACKAGING The bottle to this is what attracted my attention as it is a semi circle shape with a lid that is a glass flower and it has a purple hue through out. It ... Read the complete review
