Advantages: beautiful feminine perfume

Disadvantages: to me, none. might be too sweet for some though.

Baby is my absolute favourite of the five Harajuku Lovers fragrances brought out by Gwen Stefani this year. Each perfume bottle cost about £20, though you can now buy smaller versions.

The doll that tops the perfume bottle is wearing a polka dot red and white dress, her nails are red, and her hair is a mass of black bubbles with green bows in it.

Some of my friends have been disappointed that on removing the bottle from the box the actual amount of fragrance you get seems quite stingy, but mine has lasted well, and I think the cute quirky design of the bottle makes up for the loss in volume.

The perfume has a powdery musk scent. It is fresh, clean and soft with top notes of freesia, bergamot, white rose, heart notes of orange flower, tiare flower and jasmine petals and base notes of white musk, soft woods, heliotrope, vanilla and violet.

When I first spray it on my skin Baby smells exactly like Fairy washing up liquid to me, which I found a bit disconcerting the first time, now I love it! Then when it settles down and reacts with your skin, which takes 20 minutes or so, it smells more like baby powder, and later still as it starts to fade it reminds me of sophisticated musky vintage scents. I actually like all three of those scents (yes, even Fairy liquid!) so its fab for me, though even if you like the powdery, vintagey smells you may not appreciate that it doesn't last long, and to be fair it doesn't have much staying power, it needs reapplying often.

I adore it though, it is my favourite scent purchase so far this year. I would recommend to it to girly girls everywhere!

Summary: The best Harajuku scent of the bunch!
