I had this given to me by my best mate she was clearing out her perfume collectiion and asked if I wanted this. She tells me she bought it from B and M bargains costing just £2.99. A bargain I say so much so how stylish looking the bottle is.
Bottle of perfume~
Comes in a clear square glass bottle of which is shaped like a wedge. There is a little silver stands that it sits in. Letting is in silver writting saying how to look good naked. We all know Gok and his t.v. show. Sorting out ladies wardrobes when they look frumpy and still have a dress from the 1980's lol.
I love perfume and have rather a large collection of late. There is much more variety to choose from these days. There wasn't much to speak of when I was growing up. This is a oriental style perfume with hinks of floral and citrus notes added. This perfume looks lovely on any ladies dressing room. I use this for day time wear as it is only a light fragrance. It lasts for a couple of hours after applied.
how to look good naked ....
i would rename this purfume how to smell good naked.
for a cheap range purfume this smells nice, i got this for xmas and i wouldnt say its a bad smaell or a fantastic smell i say its AVRANGE/GOOD.
it all depends on the person really, what smells good to one smells horrid to another person
when testing purfumes never test them on card i wil explane below.
put it on card it just smells lovley.
everyones skin is diffrent and if you test on skin you can smell the real smell of the purfume, as certain fragrences suit certain people
i really hope this helps, i would recommend this purfume, and would probley buy it again for friends for xmas or buy byself another one as a spare, i really like the bottle too and it comes with a stand too. :) smile
Anyone who reads my reviews, knows that I love perfume. I am so unloyal when it comes to perfumes. I love to try different scents and not stick to one in particular. I do tend to spend quite alot of money on perfume as it is a particular weakness of mine.
I was in B and M bargains a few months ago and as I went through the checkout I was asked by the cashier if I was intrested in purchasing a bottle of perfume for £1.99. I said no as I immediatly assumed that a perfume with that price tag may smell more like cats pee that dior. However, as I looked at the bottle, I instantly recognised the packaging as Gok whan's fragrance, How to look good naked.
I hadn' t actually smelt the scent before. But I had been drawn to the modern and quirky packaging as I had browsed through my argos catalogue. The very same perfume was retailing at £10 in this argos book, so I knew I was blagging a bargain. Never one to sniff at a bargain, I bought two bottles on the spot. This was a bit of a gamble as I didn't have a clue what the scent smelt like.
The packaging is very different and nothing like anything else on the market. The glass bottle is transparent although the colour of the scent has a violet tint. The bottle is of an odd shape and can not stand without the silver based arch which the purfume slots into. I truly believe that this purfume packaging is truly inspirational. It is modern and contemporary and looks excellent on my dressing table.
The scent itself is not so impressive. In my opinion, it is a day time perfume. It makes no lasting impression, which is disappointing considering the great packaging. The initial scent when this perfume is sprayed is very spicy and oriental. It has quite masculine conotations. It also has a strong woody overtone which continues to make this seem more like an aftershave than a perfume. This perfume lacks sparkle and femininty. If you are a girly girl like me then this scent will not float your boat what so ever.
I do think that this scent is trying to hard to be modern and different. But unfortunately, I don't feel this works. I think that although it is deep and spicy, it allows itself to become quite cheap smelling. It also has no staying power. The initial spray is very overpowering, but within ten minutes the scent had settled to nothing more than a faint hint of a fragrance. Within half an hour of spraying, I can not detect this perfume at all.
Apart from spicy notes and woody hints of scent, There is also a gentle hint of lemon which becomes much more evident as the other ingredients die down. It is this lemon smell that has the most staying power. But again, this reminds me of a aftershave or showergel. It is clean and fresh but certainly not sexy or alluring.
One other thing that I found disappointing, was the quality of the vapouriser. It did not squirt the perfume, but allowed it to dribble out and make it difficult to apply the appropriate amount. Within a couple of uses of this perfume the actual squirter on the bottle came off and therefore made the perfume in the bottle unobtainable. Which is really annoying and wasteful.
I would not recommend anyone to purchase this perfume. It's packaging is misleading as you are led to believe that it is going to offer a sumptuous and feminine scent which is original and quirky. But it's scent is so disappointing. It has no staying power and what it does offer is too masculine and spicy to be taken seriously as a perfume. I am suprised by Gok Whan's attempt to produce this perfume as he always seems to be so in tune with the needs of women. I have to say, i think he is way of the mark with this scent. And this maybe why it is selling for £1.99 in cheapy stores.
My name is Foxy and I'm a perfume-a-holic. There I finally said it lol! In my bedroom at home I have absolutely loads of them. However I have been away from home now for over a month and am missing my precious collection. I only bought a couple of perfumes to my mates as I only though I was originally staying with her for a week or so but the one's I brought with me are running low and I got terribly bored without a large range to choose from.
As I'm staying in Hull at the moment I have become acquainted with a shop called Boyes that really is like bargain city and incredibly popular here. Not having one in my home town of Coventry I absolutely love this shop and spend rather alot of time and money in there! The other day knowing I was looking for a new and interesting fragrance I spotted this costing a mere £2.99! Knowing who Gok is and knowing the show this was born from 'How to look good naked' I couldn't resist taking a sniff and liking it loads purchased it pleased with what a real bargain I had just got!
Now this is available to purchase in Argos for £9.99 at the moment and I have been looking on line for prices for you and the only size I have seen this available in is the size I got this in which is a large 75ml bottle and if you look around it can cost anything from £12.50 (Fragrance Direct) to £18.99 so the best place in my opinion to start your quest is indeed in Argos unless of course you stumble upon it as I did. Other items are also available in this range to purchase as well and I know that at Christmas Boots stocked a lot of products from this range such as the shower gel which is about £8.00 a bottle and shimmering body oil which is around £10.00. Other places to look out for these products include Amazon and Littlewoods!
The perfume bottle comes in a clear plastic outer square box and with a little lilac stand to stand it in. The stand is the only way that this bottle will stand as it is thin to the bottom and sort of oblong shape once the square lid pops on the top of it. Pull that lid off which has a lilac plastic square piece in it for decoration and you get a silver press button sprayer to the top of the bottle. On the plastic outer casing and on the front you are told 'Treat yourself girlfriend' and on the back of it, it says Eau De Toilette smells absolutely gorgeous. Come on girls... you'll feel fantastic wearing just the fragrance.... and nothing else! On the front of the bottle it simply says in silver and lilac lettering 'How to look good naked eau de toilette'. The packaging of this is lovely and chunky. The shape of the bottle and the stand look really classy and I like the way this has silver and lilac lettering on it and that theme creates the overall colourscheme of the product and the perfume inside is a nice transparent lilac colour too. It's all very stylish and expensive looking and not like a bottle I've seen before let alone owned! However it is made from glass and being chunky it all isn't light!
The Eau De Toilette Itself:
This is a delightful little number and I don't know what I expected really. I mean only paying £2.99 for my bottle I guess I expected it to smell pleasant enough (I mean I did sniff it first of course!) but I guess I didn't think it would retain that initial fragrance for long...and for once I was wrong about something cos it quite simply does lol!
This, you only need a couple of squirts of. It has a lovely smell of delicate and sweetened rose (white) which is sensual and girly and not one bit harsh or too floral. Then it has undertones of green leaves giving it depth and a slight twist to the initial aroma. So you think you have a floral fragranced perfume but you also get something very fresh and clean smelling.
Once on the skin this stays lightly fragrancing you all day long. Once sprayed on you can't feel it and if it ingrains into your clothes it simply washes out even on very low temperatures of course.
This is a truly classic smelling fragrance. Really suitable for any women of any age to wear and any time of day. This is a charmer as it's a really nice feel good scent that can be used all the time. I like the way it lingers on the skin but it really isn't an in your face fragrance and it is simply elegant.
This is the sort of scent I'd feel confident in buying any woman, even if I didn't know her perfume taste cos in my opinion it's a really safe option. Sure I have my favourite scents that are really me but this is suitable any time I wear it and every time I do I come to appreciate it a bit more.
I love this scent and everything about it. It's pretty and delicate but pungent enough and I'm going back to Boyes to stock up on this before people read this review and run off to buy the shop out lol.
Recommended highly from me, particularly with Mothers day coming up too!
