This is one of my favourite fragrances and I have been using it for the past four or five years. It's a great fragrance that is suitable for any occasion, be it every day usage or a particular special occasion. It's been around for 15 years which really speaks volumes about how successful it is.
For a 50ml bottle, you're looking at £30 and it's about £40 for a 100ml bottle although you can definitely get better prices if you shop online though and, as with most things, I'd recommend buying in bulk for the best prices!
The box and bottle are very stylish. The bottle itself is made of a thick glass with the word 'Boss' protruding from it and the transparent nature of the bottle allows you to see the dull yellow/gold colour of the aftershave as well as how much is remaining. The plastic lid is easily removed and the spray mechanism is easily durable enough to last the life of the bottle (the lid/spraying mechanisms from a couple of my other aftershave bottles have broken). The spray itself is a lot more powerful than the majority of other brands and I really like that. What this means is that in just a couple of sprays you can cover a large area of your body/neck/face so there is no need to crazy when spraying it on!
If you look to buy this product online, it is described as "A fresh, fruity spice fragrance from Hugo Boss. With notes of citrus fruits and apple spiced up with cinnamon, geranium and a hint of clove. The warm masculine base coming from olivewood, vetiver, sandalwood and cedar." If you can work out what that smells like, you're a better person than me! In my opinion, it's an exceptional smell. The apple makes up the top note and the main body of the fragrance contains a warm cinnamon fragrance among other lighter notes. I would recommend giving it a try next time you are in Boots/fragrance shops. The fragrance is a very long lasting flavour - circa 8 hours on your skin.
One downside, I'm starting to smell it on a lot more people these days meaning if you're after a unique smell, this isn't the one.
I first smelt this fragrance wandering through Boots, I had no idea what it was or who it was for but I loved the musky smell, I found out the product was Boss Bottled and it was a man's fragrance. My Husband is pretty good and trusts me to buy him new aftershaves as when it comes to scents for him we have very similar tastes, scents for me however is a totally different matter.
Usually my husband has cheapish aftershaves such as CKone so when I look this product up and found out the cost I was a little taken aback but decided to watch out for any offers on it as I knew I wanted to buy him it for Christmas. A 50ml bottle will set you back £37 and a 100ml bottle costs £48 so as you can see it is really much better value to buy the bigger bottle. I was lucky as myself my Mam and my Sister went on a shopping trip to Metro Centre not long before Christmas and Boots had this on offer so I managed to buy the 100ml bottle for £32.
I think the bottle is attractive, it is made of quite thick glass which allows you to see the aftershave inside which is a slightly yellowy colour but not too yellow so that it looks like wee. The bottle is very simple and only has the word boss embossed upwards on the bottle in a bubble type font which is smooth to run your hand over. The top of the bottle is curved like shoulders and has a silver cap on it and the bottle is house in a silvery grey box.
When I gave this to my husband he loved it so I made a good choice, he loved it so much he went through the bottle within about 8 weeks which is really not necessary as the fragrance is strong and lasts really well. The fragrance smells musky yet spicy at the same time, from the website it has top notes of apple and citrus fruits, warmer notes of geranium, cinnamon and cloves and base notes of sandalwood, cedarwood, amber and musk.
I am planning on buying my husband this again this year as I really love the scent, the fragrance is strong yet not overpowering and the smell literally lasts for days on clothing which makes my wash basket smell great. I like how manly this smells and it is honestly the only fragrance that I have ever smelt in passing and absolutely had to follow up and buy.
I receive Hugo Boss fragrances for my birthdays and Christmas presents at my request. I find them too expensive to buy for myself as it's not like buying a can of lynx. Boss bottled is one of Hugo Boss's long running range and not one of their limited edition fragrances that they seem to bring out every year.
I like the eau de toilette as I find it a nice spray action where I can aim it for the areas I require. Once sprayed it releases just the right amount compared with cheaper eau de toilettes that can leave it running down your neck. The scent calms down after the intial spray in smell and lasts a few hours however if I am going out during the evening I need to reapply from the morning spray for the evening.
The top notes of apple, citrus accords and fruity are close to their Hugo scent, I can make out a slight fruity smell but I would not say these smells are overwhelming. The heart notes are geranium, cinnamon cloves which surprises me as I do not like cinnamon and would not wear if it were noticable so if you do not like either do not let this put you off buying. The base notes are sandalwood vetiver cedarwood and olivewood. I am a big fan of sandalwood and cedarwood scents so these are what attracted me to the fragrance and are the notes I can most recognise.
A scent I would recommend to friends and I have personally worn for years and still does not feel dated.
Again as I have never brought I had to look up prices and available sizes online.
30 ml £22.99
50 ml £31.99
100 ml £40.99
200 ml £56.99
Hugo Boss - Boss Bottled is one of the newer aftershaves in my collection of fragrances at the moment. The whole design and feel of the product gives me the sense of a very classic and stylish aftershave. The bottle itself is simple and quite plain, but leaves a good impression on the wearer. The box has the words 'BOSS' in huge lettering followed by 'Hugo Boss'. The 100ml bottle comes in at around £32 which is quite reasonable, and it is clear to see that there are no gimmicks to be seen here. A lot of the aftershave market is now diluted with 'famous' individuals trying to cash in and it is debatable as to how much input they have into the fragrance. With Boss Bottled there is none of that, and the classic design is topped off with a silver stopper.
The fragrance follows on from the image of the product, with a fresh citrus and apple aroma. It is no surprise to see base notes of sandalwood, but the amber and musk give a very masculine finish. At the heart of the fragrance the cinnamon is quite noticable. For me, though, all these words mean nothing to someone looking to make a decision on a product - very much like wine tasting notes! For those looking for a clearer indication of this scent I would say it is of a very masculine scent, and that it isn't designed for any particular 'type' of male - it makes a good staple aftershave for all occassions.
I have owned a few Boss aftershaves and each one surprises me with its simplicity. Although Boss have had some wierd and wonderful bottle designs in the past, Boss Bottled is a lot less fussy and would make a great gift for any man.
This stuff smells great. I was bought it from an ex a few years ago and ive been re buying it ever since. it has a great smell and i believe ryan reynolds is advertising it, who doesnt wanna be like that guy.
if your buying it for yourself of for a partner i would stongly advise you do. if you can i'd get the larger bottles because its so easy to go through a full bottle in a few months using it every day.
This is definitely one of my favourites and depending where you shop around, relitively cheap online, i got mine from fragerence direct online and for 125ml was around £30, which is very cheap. i also got the body was with it aswel, that also smells the same.
The look of the bottle and packaging is pretty standard, plain glass bottle with "boss" on the side, but very masculine looking to match the scent.
This is an after shave that comes in a clear slinky bottle and cap that unvales a spray which you will be able to wear with confidence. It is lovely but quite a delicate smell that some might find a little too femnine. It is certainly not a manly smell that you expect from other brands but that is one of the appeals to the opposite sex in my opinion.
It is a quite an appealing smell that requires just a few sprays to have the desired effect. It is a stylish fragrance but has very much lighter scents which you can smell straight away but does not linger around you. Almost like its clothes it seems to suggest assurity but without the arrogance to keep coming back to tell you its still their. Those of you that want a strong masculine smell should steer clear of this one. Perhaps would suit those people who are more into other products like this such as Joop.
It is refreshing and something that reminds me of the summer months. It does not wear that well over a long period of time though. For me I don't want to be using a fragrance all the time but in order to maintain the effect I feel it necessary to continullay applying this during the course of a day or night. Now it is around £18 for a bottle of 50ml which is pretty standard in terms of price however with so many varieties of after shaves out there for me this does not quite live upto the billing of some of the others. It is not distinguisable between this and some of the retail stores on brands of eau de toilletes. If it was cheaper then it could be worth it but Hugo Boss are not likely to start marketing themselves at the cheaper end of the market. I was given a bottle of an own retail brand which when I looked it up was just £12. I liked it more than Hugo Boss so that should help to make your own mind up.
Overall I would keep away from this one. There is nothing majorly wrong with it and it is pleasent enough it is just beaten by the stiff competion out there. There are better and so spend your hard earned cash somewhere else.
I got some of the hugo boss bottled in small gift sets from boots where they do a multi pack with 5 fragrances in. I had two packs and they both had hugo boss bottled in them. Makes a great set for gift if you get this in it.
I like the small clear glass bottle with the silver lid. I think the bottle is a good shape and it stands up ok and is not easy to knock over. The lid on mine is a pull off push on lid. I think thats fine, it works and I have had no spills from the bottle.
The hugo boss name runs down the side of my bottle and stands proud of the glass. I like the way it looks, its gives a very masculine look that matches the eau de toilette.
When I first dab some of this on from my bottle there is no spray on mine its a splash and I get a tangy aroma with some alcohol. This goes very quick and drys off very fast as well.
The apple sharpness I get from this is not around for long and it gets very deep and musky in a few minutes. I like this one a lot. It is a very male aroma, it gives me a confident feeling when I have this on and I would recommend it for men in their 20s, 30s and 40s because its a great aroma for that age group.
I think this is an active aroma for men on the go. Perhaps a sporty type who wants a more refined aroma than the cheap deo smells some mens fragrance gives. This hugo boss gets a bit flowery but really warm and spicy and thats why its so great. Its not a female aroma at all but ladies do like this on men.
There is a fruity tang in this like apple with citrus but that goes after the alcohol bit dries away. It leaves a great spiced bit on me and I detect it has a smell of cloves about it. I think it makes a great winter fragrance because of that. Its warm and easy to wear and after a few hours its very sensual and soft.
I would recommend this one because its great. It will suit a lot of blokes who want a classy manly aroma for winter. A 30ml bottle of this can be about £20 maybe £25 and I think for the money its a great buy.
Hugo Boss is known for its clothes and shoes but also more and more for their fragrances. They got some great fragrances and really stand out from the other brands. This Hugo Boss Bottled Night - Eau de Toilette is one of my favourites.
The fragrance has a pure seduction oriented composition, aromatic top notes combined with a rich, woody base. This fragrance is the essence of a hardwood species that is the Louro amarelo tree. This tree grows in the Amazon region of Brazil and is also used for flooring. It gives the smell a richer woody base. Also are there extracts of musk notes, birch leaves, cardamom, lavender, and the African violet.
The color of the eau de toilette is transparent and it looks like water. If you spray it is quite sharp and has a lemony smell, after about a minute, the warm scents emerge. What remains is a warm spicy and woody fragrance with a refreshing accent. I really like the scent and it's no too strong.
Hugo Boss Bottled Night comes in a simple bottle, which looks similar as the bottle of Boss Bottled, only this has black colored glass bottle. On the front is in big letters Boss as well as in a smaller font and in white, Hugo Boss. The bottle has a black plastic cap that hides the sprayer. I like the bottle because of its beautiful simplicity. The eau de toilette is available in a vial of 40 ml and 100ml.
I think Hugo Boss didn't disappoint at all with this fragrance and think it was a wonderful warm scent but still fresh. I do think it stands out from other fragrances and maybe that's because of the Louro amarelo tree. Whatever it is, it helps and makes it one of my favorites to have.
This is by far the best smelling thing i have ever used, i own alot of aftershaves and since ive had this no other one has been used.
They just simply do not compair to this. Ive never had a complaint about it, only every compliments and people ask what it is, where its from etc.
This is the perfect smell to a night out, when youre close to some one they get this smell and like it.
Its a pleasure to smell.
Its a great price too, i managed to get a large bottle from duty free for around £35, no doubt it can be bought cheaper online which is an even bigger benefit.
The bottle itself oozes class and from the second you put it on it smells amazing, theres no waiting around for the smell to go away.
Its not musky either, its a real pleasent smell, really hard to describe.
- Smells great
- Looks great
- Great price
- When you use it one, you will not use your other ones.
Hugo Boss: Boss Bottled, Eau de Toilette
This is one of my husband's favourite scents and one of my favourite fragrances to smell on him. He is now on his second bottle of this, both bought by me as either a birthday or Christmas present. Personally, I think this fragrance makes a great gift, I always find it hard to buy for the man in my life and this is one thing that is always appreciated.
It's a fresh smelling warm scent, it is masculine but it isn't over powering. When it is first sprayed it does take a minute or two to settle, with that first spay it can be slightly too strong but it does calm down into a manly, modern and slightly musky scent, which makes me think my husband is even more yummy than normal. My husband tends to wear this fragrance in the colder months, preferring something that little bit lighter and less musky for the summer time.
The fragrance is commonly described as sensuous and I don't often agree when a scent is described as this, but I can completely understand people's descriptions of this one. I am smelling it now and it does have a certain sensuousness to the scent, it really is rather a pleasant smell. This is well suited for the men the in our lives who like to make a little bit of an effort and want to smell gorgeous.
I would think this fragrance is more suited to men under their forties (or maybe that is because that is the market range that I am used to smelling this on). You can really smell the fruity tones but it is in no way a floral fragrance and the base note of the musk is beautifully evident.
For those that are interested in the specifics of the smell I have listed the notes below.
Top notes; Grapefruit, green apple, bergamot and mint
Middle or hear notes; Jasmine, geranium, lavender and patchouli
Base notes; Musk, pine needle and sandalwood
Furthermore, this scent has a brilliant longevity, when sprayed in the morning I can still smell it on my husband much later that night. It also comes in a very simple and plain bottle that would be a bit disappointing in a women's brand, but I think it works perfectly for men like my husband who aren't keen on anything too fussy or decorative.
The price of a 50ml bottle is usually around £35 but it can sometimes be found cheaper online. A 50 ml bottle last just under a year in our household. As with most fragrances they are a costly purchase but well worth the price if you want a yummy smelling man on your arm. In my opinion this is a great scent.
--My overall opinion--
I am going to award this four out of five stars. It really is a nice scent for a man and a nice fragrance to smell on a man. I really like this fragrance and I will no doubt buy my husband another bottle when this one finishes. Overall, we both like this fragrance and I would happily recommend it to men and to women to buy as a gift.
HUGO BOSS-------BOSS AFTERSHAVE
Boss by Hugo Boss is one of my favourite smells from this designer (from a girly point of view!) Boss comes in a lovely little round, quite squat shaped bottle, I think it looks quite old fashioned for a modern designer but I still like it. Its made of thick glass and had BOSS down the front in raised glass. The lid is a simple pull off lid with a spray button underneath, these are both in grey. The spray button dispenses the aftershave in a fine mist meaning you do not end up wearing too much at a time. The actual liquid is very pale, and the overall appearance is very masculine. The box is the same colour as the lid and has Boss Hugo Boss written on the front, quite simple and plain but again stylish at the same time.
A 50ml bottle costs £32.00, but as with most fragrances you can get it quite a bit cheaper at
online shops, you just need to shop around a little bit, the cost tends to depend on where you purchase it.
Boss is described as "fruity and apple fresh". There is also cinnamon and cloves, cedar wood and sandlewood in the ingredients. The only thing I can personally identify is the cinnamon and cloves, I don't think I would describe this aftershave as fruity or apple fresh, it definatly has a more of a spicy warm aroma I am unable to detect even the slightest hint of apple. It always reminds me of nights out at Christmas time.
In my opinion Boss is a younger persons fragrance, I definatly couldn't imagine my dad wearing it, however that is just my opinion, some older men may like this fragrance. Boss is a long lasting fragrance too, although my fiancée only wears it in the evening I can still smell it on him and his clothes the next day, it is certainly economical as you do not need to apply much at a time.
I would recommend Boss by Hugo Boss. Its an excellent product and in my opinion good value for money
Lovely warm fragrance
Hugo Boss Boss Bottled is a fragrance that I love on guys but quite a lot of men wear it. My first boyfriend wore it, I have many male friends who favour it. In fact I believe Hugo Boss is how I got chatting to my second boyfriend!
I like my girly perfumes to look nice, when it comes to guy's aftershave I'm not too fussed as I'm not likely to be looking at the bottle. However, the Boss Bottled Bottle (what a mouthful) is really nice, I think the style is quite classic. The bottle is made from clear glass and is a cylindrical shape, the word BOSS is the embossed on the bottle and the words Hugo Boss printed below. The bottle has a nice silver lid which easily clips on and off. The look of this bottle of fragrance is very sleek, stylish and quite classical.
'Confident and contemporary: clean lines make BOSS Bottled an iconic classic. Combining elegance and style, it was designed with the modern man in mind. Vibrant with fresh and sensuous notes, the fragrance exudes distinction, sophistication and pure joie de vivre.'
Balancing with a fresh and fruity top note, the warm, spicy-floral heart is dominated by geraniums and seasoned with just a dab of clove. The base note is decidedly male, a vibrating harmony of sandalwood, cedar and vetiver.
This fragrance is quite distinctive, I would describe it as smelling quite manly and not too girly like some recent men's fragrances I can definitely pick up the spicy floral and clove notes, when the fragrance is first sprayed it does smell quite spicy. I would say the fragrance appears to last quite a while and settles as quite a peppery smell but not too overpowering. I really like this fragrance as it is a very masculine fragrance and I find it quite sexy on a guy.
There are other products in the Hugo Boss Boss Bottled range such as a shower gel, deodorant stick, deodorant spray, after shave and after shave balm.
A 30ml bottle is available from a lot of discount perfume retailers such as Cheap-Perfume for around £18 I think this is good value for a classic male fragrance.
Its been quite weird reviewing a man's fragrance but I do know quite a lot about it and surely guys care what we think about how they smell. I love this fragrance and think of it as quite manly and sexy.
Hugo Boss - A trendy icon?
Being a fan of the Hugo Boss brand, I should have tried this scent sooner. After all it has been around since the 80s.
These days, it's possible to pick up a bottle of Hugo Boss at a wide range of prices (sometimes the 100ml bottles are cheaper than the 75ml bottles!).
It is quite a timeless fragrance, and people do seem to recognise it whenever I'm wearing it.
The clear glass bottle is fairly unassuming, rather like a Boss suit - It looks good, but doesn't have to scream "HUGO BOSS!" to get your attention.
The fragrance is a bit of a mixture for me: Partly tangy, quite fresh, but sweet. It's a bit too big a contrast between these different elements for me.
It really hits you with the first spray - but then the sweetness prevails. I'd say that it makes a good day time fragrance, but for me at least, not very good for evening wear.
Having tried Hugo Boss, I doubt that I would buy another bottle - though it does attract favourable comments, so maybe I'm concentrating too much on myself, rather than other peoples' opinions.
This is such a good aftershave! Good size bottle and very cheap compared to other Eau de Toilette. Whenever I am wearing it people often say they like it and it's their favourite smell. Many girls seem to like it too. It doesn't irritate my skin like other Eau de Toilettes do as I have sensitive skin. The bottle is simple but effective with the boss logo slightly raised. It is also quite easy to put on as it comes in spray form, splash on and also as aftershave balms. The smell also lasts for a long time which is always good and saves you money. I first got bought it as a christmas present a few years ago and now it is the only Eau de Toilette that I buy. You also dont need to put much on as the smell is quite strong, this saves you more money again. I would recommend this to all guys and even girls. It's an old smell but is still extremely popular.
Hugo Boss is a name which for me is one that always evokes images of class, high powered people and money so when my parents picked up a bottle of this Boss Bottled as an xmas gift for me a few years back I did not know what to make of it and if it was too posh for me so after a few years and the bottle still being sat in my collection what is the truth behind this?
Boss Bottled is a fragrance which is designed to be simple, classic and perfectly suited the the Boss man with the box and bottle designed to evoke the feel of elegance and give an idea of the fragrance within.
The fragrance itself is best described as an oriental fragrance with a huge depth of scents throughout.
The scent starts off with tones including apple and citrus fruits which give way gradually to sweeter, warmer notes of geranium, cinnamon and cloves before the reaching the very base tones of sandalwood, vetiver, cedarwood, olivewood, amber and musk to create am extremely masculine fragrance.
The fragrance itself is not one that is a favourite for me with the scent being nice enough but simply not something that stands out in the crowd. The fragrance does not last long when I apply it and this somewhat disappointed me as it was a minimum I expected. Overall the fragrance is nice enough but nothing more than that for me.
Hugo Boss / Boss Bottled EDT; For Him is an oriental fougere fragrance / Its fresh top notes include apple and citrus fruits / In the heart, sweeter, warmer notes of geranium, cinnamon and cloves / In the base notes, dry spicy scents of sandalwood, vetiver, cedarwood, olivewood, amber and musk create a distinctly masculine dry down / Boss Bottled is the encapsulation of Boss in a fragrance / Top Notes:; Apple and citrus fruits / Mid Notes:; Geranium, cinnamon and cloves / Base Notes:; sandalwood, vetiver, cedarwood, olivewood, amber and musk.
