Advantages: Nice fragrance, long lasting
Disadvantages: Not too strong
Santa was very kind to me this year, and as part of his delivery, he brought me a gift set of Hugo Boss Orange.
It is available in three different sizes, 30ml which retails at around £29, 50ml with a RRP of around £39 and 75ml for around£49. I was lucky enough to receive a 50 ml bottle as part of a gift set which also contained 2 x 50ml bottles of body lotion, came in a nice little evening bag with a compact mirror too. The RRP of this is £61 but I do know that for the last two Christmas's it was one of Boots better than half price offers running up to Christmas so it worked out as an excellent bargain. Whenever I buy perfume (or ask Santa to buy one), I always try and get a gift set as they seem to work out better value for money, plus, if you get some body lotion, you can get that all over fragrance.
The fragrance is quite fruity which is what initially attracted me to the perfume, the notes are as follows:
Top notes: apple, bergamot and cinnamon
Middle notes: white peach, plum, orange flower
Base notes: Olive wood, sandal wood, vanilla
Upon first spraying, the fruit elements are quite dominant, after an hour or so, the fruit fragrance does subside slightly and there is a slight floral aspect present but the main aroma if vanilla which I love. The floral aspect isn't too overpowering which I like as I am not too keen on floral smells. I find that the fragrance has good staying power, I always spray my perfume just before I put my coat on to leave for work and I find with this fragrance, at the end of the working day when I put my coat back on, I can still smell it on my coat. Having said that, this perfume is not as strong as I would like it to be, especially if I wanted to wear it for a night out so I think I will use this one for day wear only.
The bottle is quite simple yet stylish in its design, it is tall and slim, to the front and back the bottle is quite bumpy and down the sides, it has silver (not real) plates displaying the name Hugo Boss. The bottle and perfume has a slight orange tint to it too, but not so much that it looks cheap or nasty.
Overall, I would recommend this fragrance, it has great staying power and whilst not my favourite, I will definitely be re-purchasing, especially if on offer again next year. I would give the product 4 out of 5 stars.
Thanks for reading.
Summary: A nice everyday perfume
