**Introduction**
I had really liked this fragrance for a few years but had not actually owned a bottle yet until this weekend, I was back in my hometown of Taunton visiting a friend for the weekend and whilst in town I spotted an offer in The Perfume Shop, It was £22.50 for a 40ml bottle of eau de toilette and 50ml of the shower gel and as I had been put off by the price before I decided to take the plunge and buy the Hugo Boss Man gift set. I had run out of my Diesel Only The Brave and only have small samples of other fragrances so was looking for a new fragrance anyway. Hugo Boss Man is one of the most popular fragrances and was released in 1995.
**Hugo Boss Man**
This is one of the most recognisable fragrance bottles having been designed on an army water flask and the fragrance itself is extremely well known and is also a hit for the ladies as well as with the men who wear it. The fragrance normally ranges between £25 and £50 for the various sizes which are as follows, 40ml, 100ml and 150ml and you can buy Gift Sets in all these sizes. This is one of my favourite fragrances and is one of the most versatile on the market as it's scent suits a wide range of occasions. So what does it smell like and what do I really like about the fragrance to set it apart from the competition.
**The Scent**
The fragrance opens with the lovely Top Notes of Green Apple, Grapefruit and Basil. These combine to give a fruity scent which has a hint of herb. They combine well to suck you in with the overall scent which is instantly likeable and progresses superbly. The scent actually moves into the Heart notes fairly quickly.
The fragrance gets a slight kick with the lovely aromatic heart notes of sage and jasmine which takes the herbal feel to the next level with a slight spice to it as well which compliments the scent well. You get the subtle yet noticeable change from the fruity top notes to the more spicy heart notes.
We end the fragrance with the Base notes of fir balsam, cedarwood and patchouli. These combine to give the most memorable part of the fragrance which is woody and continues the herbal tone as well to give a very distinctive and slightly musky scent which impresses.
**Suitability**
This fragrance is really fresh and works well for many different settings, it's light enough for everyday use maybe at work or on a night out as it will impress those around you who catch a whiff of it. It is a quality fragrance so you don't need to spray all that much for it to have an effect and for the fragrance to be suitably fragrant. I would recommend the fragrance for males between the ages of 18 and 45 so quite a big age range there which is another plus point over rivals. This fragrance smells lovely, lasts well and you can find some good deals if you look around. If you haven't tried this one yet then give it a go and if you like this then check out the other products in the range.
Summary: Great fragrance.
