The Hugo Boss BOSS Orange Eau de Toilette is available from GBP 30.00. The scent is available as 30 ml, 50 ml and 75 ml Eau de Toilette with an accompanying perfumed body care line.
The Eau de Toilette was launched in 2009.
The Eau de Toilette comes in an orange-coloured flacon. The flacon combines elements of metal and glass. On the flacon is a silver imprint. The flacon contains 30 ml.
The Eau de Toilette is described as follows. "BOSS Orange Woman is a warm, complex and inviting fragrance that combines the uniquely liberating notes of crispy apple and white florals with a vanilla and sandalwood heart. They fuse to create a relaxed, unique scent you can wear with passion."
The Eau de Toilette is a fresh fragrance with a woody, oriental scent. The fruity scent of red apple can be perceived. A flowery scent that reminds of orange blossom can be noticed. Followed by the scent of sandalwood and vanilla. The main accords are white floral and vanilla. The scent is pleasant and the intensity is soft.
The top note is sweet apple. The middle note is made up of white flowers and orange blossom. Followed by the base notes sandalwood, olive wood and vanilla.
The Eau de Toilette is long-lasting. The longevity is moderate.
I can recommend the Hugo Boss BOSS Orange Eau de Toilette, as the scent is long-lasting and the scent is not too intensive. The main accords are white floral and vanilla. The scent of orange blossom and vanille can be noticed.
Hugo Boss EDT For Women (50ml)
I first saw this fragrance in Barcelona airport back in 2009 and I was given this perfume as a present a couple of years later. It is my first Hugo Boss fragrance. I believe the adverts at the time has sienna miller in them.
- About the product
I have the 50ml eau de toilette version of this fragrance but it does comes in a small size and also as an eau de parfum. The bottle is gorgeous, in my opinion, it is a long tall bottle with silver sides and the front/back are made of a see through orange plastic - it looks quite simple and modern. The spray for this bottle is quite good, it sprays a good amount (maybe a little too much) but it is a even spray.
- Notes and scent overall
The fragrance has top notes (the notes in the fragrance that you can smell first) of red apples as stated on fragrance websites but in my opinion the red apple notes are not very strong at all when sprayed initially. The fragrance initially for me smells really musky, generic but I do get some hints of a red apple scent although without knowing that red apples were the top notes I wouldn't have said that there was apple in the fragrance. When sprayed the fragrance is strong, musky and a bit astringent but the astringent, almost overwhelming scent disperses fairly quickly leaving a generic musky slightly sweet scent.
The middle or heart notes of this fragrance are said to be that of African orange flower and white flowers and I do smell that. The overriding musky notes do give way to some sweet floral scents in the fragrance and I do prefer the more floral notes to the musk that comes through (even though at this point in the fragrance there are no musky notes noted). The scent initially is quite sophisticated and not very sweet or girly which is usually the type of perfume I go for.
The heart/middle notes then develop into the base/end notes which include, sandalwood, olive tree and vanilla. I find the perfume overall to be quite musky, it is definitely an autumnal or winter perfume in my opinion and then there is more musky notes. I don't know what olive tree is supposed to smell like and I personally don't really smell too much vanilla in the perfume at any point as to me vanilla is a warm, cosy, soothing scent and that is not detectable in the fragrance.
Overall, in terms of the scent, I do like it and I wear it only in the colder months as during the summer I think it would be very cloying, heavy and too musky but that is just my preference. I really liked this fragrance a couple of years ago but for me now it has been become very boring, too musky and too heavy. If you like musky perfumes with some floral notes then I would suggest this fragrance but it is a little heavy.
The initial strength of this perfume is really quite strong so I thought that it would last for a long time. The fragrance is strong for a good couple of hours and after about four hours it starts to fade and become a lot more subtle. After five hours the scent is only really noticeable if you conscious try and smell it on your skin or clothing, it is really subtle now. The fragrance lasts on me for a maximum of about 5/6 hours which isn't great in my opinion especially compared to some of my other perfumes which last a lot longer. Overall, very strong initially but is fades rather quickly and the scent changes only slightly though out that time, becoming musky, then more floral and then back to being quite musky.
- Price and availability
I was given this fragrance as a gift, in a set with the body lotion and body wash a few years ago. You can buy the fragrance on its own from numerous online retailers such as Fragrance Direct (30ml) for £23.95. You can buy the 30ml edt gift set from Debenhams and the edp version is available online too.
*Bottle design is simple and modern and the spray is very good
*I loved the scent a few years ago and it is a nice musky, floral scent overall
*Available in numerous sizes and as a gift set and it is not too expensive, in my opinion
*The scent is a bit too musky, heavy and initially quite overwhelming for me personally now
*The bottle (mine is now empty) is quite heavy so it is not great for traveling with
*The longvevity is not amazing in my opinion - for me the scent only lasts for a maximum of 6 hours - although this may differ from person to person
Thank you for reading my review
Boss Orange is a perfume by Hugo Boss which first came out in 2009.
--- Price and Availability ---
This normally costs £49 for 75 ml, £39 for 50 ml or £29 for 30 ml in Boots. A gift set containing a fairly large 50 ml bottle of this perfume is currently on the "better than half price Christmas star gift" offer at Boots, so as this set was only £29.50 (for the perfume, 2 x 50 ml body lotion, a compact mirror and a bag) instead of £60 I decided to get one for myself and treat my sister too. This is a great price for the perfume and is a short offer only, finishing Thurs 11 Oct but you can also often get this perfume slightly reduced at the likes of The Perfume Shop or The Fragrance Shop or online.
--- Packaging ---
The perfume comes in a tall thin bottle which has a bumpy orange glass front and smooth silver sides. Boss Hugo Boss is engraved on the side in quite small letters. I like the orange colour as it is quite subtle and not an in your face shade. It looks really fresh and warm to me, making me think of sunshine. When I gave my sister her gift set today she said she liked the bottle and thought it looked stylish, so it should be one most people would be happy to have out on display.
--- Scent ---
According to BaseNotes.com the notes are as follows:
Top notes: apple, bergamot and cinnamon
Middle notes: white peach, plum, orange flower
Base notes: Olive wood, sandal wood, vanilla
On first spraying this perfume I am hit with a burst of fruit, but there is also a slight alcohol scent there for me for the first second or two, making it smell a little artificial. However, for me this is gone pretty much straight away so it doesn't really cause a problem for me. The top notes smell very fresh and clean, but in a warm and inviting way rather than a cold clinical way. It is quite sweet. I think the apple gives it some crispness but the cinnamon gives it a bit of spice and makes it seem more full bodied. It is not really what I expected as I don't think it smells of orange when I first spray!
After I have been wearing it for a while it mellows a bit and I get more of a light floral vibe from it. This is really nice, still clean and fresh and in my opinion really inoffensive. I can't imagine anyone really taking a massive dislike to this. I'm sure some might find it a bit boring as it is not really the most unusual, but I doubt many could really call it unpleasant. Personally I think this kind of floral fruity clean scent definitely has its place as a great go to perfume for general daily wear, and I really enjoy the scent.
As it dries down further it develops quite a prominent creamy vanilla note. This is sweet and warm, but not too cloying as there is still some of that fruit there and a bit of spice and woodiness. I really love how this smells when it has been worn for a few hours as it is just a lovely relaxed and feminine scent.
This scent is an eau de toilette rather than an eau de parfum, meaning it is not as concentrated and strong. Before I got it I did have some concerns that it might not last long and may fade too quickly. However, when I sprayed the tester from Boots it did seem to last for hours so I went back to get it the next day. Now I have been wearing it the last couple of days and it does last very well, much better than expected. I sprayed it this morning at about 11 before I went out and now it's past midnight and I can still smell it on my wrists. The sillage is also good and people can smell it without coming right up to sniff the wrists! My sister noticed it when I came to her house and said she liked it without me having mentioned anything about it, which was good because I then gave her her bottle!
Overall this is a nice scent which is fairly safe and neutral, but still not quite what I expected as it does not just smell of orange. It is a great daytime scent for anyone wanting something clean, fresh, fruity and those who like a strong vanilla base. I would recommend it.
Hugo Boss originally started as a clothing brand. He started the clothing company in Germany in1923. What many may not know is that he even designed the uniforms of the German army during the two world war. Only much later in the 60's, the brand has evolved and started to make jewelry and perfume. Today it is a brand that has great reputation around the world.
The cardboard box is rectangular and white in color with all salmon pink / orange dots. Along the edges is a silver-colored rim. With orange letters is on one side of the box the Hugo Boss logo printed. It has a simple yet beautiful and confident.
The bottle is also rectangular. The color of the glass bottle is like the name says orange but you can still see through it. The bottle has the shape of 6 diamonds that are stacked on top. Just like the box the bottle also has a silver at the edges aligned. The only difference is that the silver lines here are much wider. This all looks good and really gives a feminine appearance.
When I use the perfume I smell like a slightly sweet odor. The first thing that comes to mind is the smell of citrus and vanilla. I must say it's very good. Especially since I personally really love sweet scents. It makes me think of summer and those long cozy evenings. When I use the fragrance in the morning it will stay with me during the day.
I find it a very nice fragrance from Boss. This perfume is just for every day. Whether you're at home, at work or on holiday. He is not too strong but certainly excites your senses and those of the people around you. The price the bottles I find very reasonable at least not extremely expensive for around £35. The perfume evaporates slowly and that is definitely a plus for an eau de toilet.
Review of Hugo Boss Orange Eau de Toilette Spray.
I received a Hugo Boss Orange gift set for Christmas 2011 and have been enjoying sampling the contents. The set comprised of a 50ml bottle of Eau de Toilette (EDT) fragrance, a 50ml tube of shower gel and a tube of 50ml body lotion. This review concentrates on the EDT.
Hugo Boss Orange EDT is presented in a beautiful bottle, made of chunky glass with a deeply ridged design. The lid is a silvery grey colour and the actual perfume is a peachy orange colour. The spray mechanism is a little on the generous side and I have had to adjust the pressure I use when applying this EDT!
The whole gift set was very attractively presented, so nice that it felt a bit of a pity to spoil it by opening it!
This fragrance is a decidedly 'young' scent in my opinion, it is light, fresh and fruity, with slightly deeper woody undertones.
The initial top note of Hugo Boss Orange is distinctly fruity one dominated by sweet apple. The heart notes are white flowers and orange blossom, whilst the more intense base notes are of sandalwood, olive wood and vanilla.
I find it lasts for around 4-5 hours on my skin which is just about acceptable for an EDT, although of course this will vary from user to user as perfumes react differently the individual users skin type.
As mentioned, this product was received as a gift, so I am unsure of the price paid or where it was purchased. A quick web search conducted today brought up a price of £30.95 for this gift set on www.fragrancedirect.co.uk
The website also offers the EDT at £21.95 for a 30ml bottle and £39.95 for the 75ml size.
Hugo Boss fragrances are widely available both online and in High Street stores.
My Thoughts and Conclusion
In my opinion this fragrance is a pleasant one, it can almost be described as refreshing. It is an uncomplicated scent and one that I quite like, in my opinion, it is an everyday fragrance with a really uplifting feel to it. I must admit that I was a little disappointed in the fragrance at first, as I had assumed given the name, it would be more orangey. I feel it would be a good choice as a summer scent as the fruity, floral notes are reminiscent of a summers day.
I think the fragrance is a little expensive for what it is, it could have lasted a little longer. although that said, it may well have more staying power on someone else.
I particularly like the fact that my gift set had shower gel and body lotion too, as it is nice to be able to layer your scent.
Hugo Boss Orange is a lovely everyday fragrance and one I would recommend to others.
I am awarding this EDT a 4* rating
Thank you for reading

I still remember the first time I ever smelt this perfume, the week before my wedding and i fell in love! I have always been quite fussy when buying perfumes but this one is perfect for me, its fun, flirty and transports me to warm summer nights sat having a nice glass of wine with friends.
The best way I can describe the actual fragrance is that it is fruity with warm floral undertones and where as some perfumes you can either box into a "daytime fragrance" or "night time fragrance", I personally think that this is perfect for both. It is not too heavy to wear in the day, nor is it too light to spray on for a girls night out or candle lit meal.
The only thing that I can fault it on is that it seems to wear off after just a couple of hours, but then again, that is the same with most "Eau de Toilettes". Even so, this is still my favourite perfume of all time and if I am going out for the day, I just pop it in my bag to top up when it does begin to fade. I also use the shower gel and body lotion that are infused with the fragrance, just make it last that little bit longer.
I would highly recommend "Hugo Boss Orange" for any woman looking to treat herself, or a partner, friend, or relative looking to put a smile on a loved ones face.
Okay, I was initially attracted to this perfume for the cool adverts with Sienna Miller (my idol), so I think that I convinced myself I liked the scent more than I actually did. Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely, clean fresh perfume, but for me it definitely is not strong enough of a smell. I found that the scent did not last long at all, and for the price it is a very weak perfume. Nor do I like those over whelming sprays that make you smell like a bowl of cheap popuri, but when I spend more money on a 'designer' perfume, i'd like to be able to smell it still after a couple of hours of wear. To conclude, the perfume makes a great gift (looks very attractive), but if buying for yourself then maybe shop around a bit more for something a little more value for money!
I managed to miss the recent hot spell in this country as I was away on holiday however this was no big deal as it was really hot where I was and the beach was a whole lot nicer than anything Northampton could offer. With the warmer weather thoughts turn to a more summery set of smells and Hugo Boss Orange is a perfectly good scent. With a name like Orange you would expect a fruity bouquet and with this scent you will not be disappointed. Also given the price tag of £35 for a 50ml bottle it will not break the bank and while it is a mid priced scent you do get a top quality product.
I'm not a big fan of the bottle design, it is a bit rectangular and rather substantial, not attractive rather it is a bit chunky with some rough edges and a thrown togethr style that does not really work for me.
The Orange blossom gives it the citrus smell that is fruity and quite lively, in addition there is bergamot and apple notes in it as well as sandalwood and vanilla. It is quite a sweet smelling scent and one that does need a little time to settle down on your skin. For me this is very much a day scent and it has a good amount of staying power and will last the day easily enough.
It is certainly a fragrance I would recommend and is ideal for the summer days and nights ahead. One to look out for and well worth a try.
The fragrance reviews are one of my favourite categories as I consider my nose to be "in training " when it comes to perfume. I think I was ambitious with my first try outs of Chanel No5 and Ysatis but Hugo Boss Orange had some good reviews so this was my noses next victim!
I am lucky to be able to frequently visit Gibraltar which is VAT free and caters to lots of cruise ships whose passengers descend on Main Street .This 1 mile long pedestrianised street has at least 8 perfume/cosmetic shops with knowledgable staff to help you with information and encourage you to buy their lovely products . It is in fact , fragrance heaven.
Hugo Boss Orange was displayed in the window of one of my favourite shops "Star of India" along with Hugo Boss Sunset. The assistant sprayed my wrists with "Orange" and the lovely crisp (and I thought orangey, well you would with that name !) fragrance tickled my nose buds! my immediate thought was "I like this one" but having now read some reviews I now know to let it settle down on my skin and to wait a few hours.
The top notes are crisp apple, which I could smell immediately I also picked up vanilla on first contact which I later discovered to be in the base notes. The heart notes consist of white flowers and orange blossom which did appear after 2-3-hours and the base notes of olive wood, sandalwood and vanilla do give it a depth .
I also find the slim ,glass ,rectangular bottle with dimples in it attractive, as this shows the gentle peachy orange colour off to advantage and, teamed with the silver edging and top (which does remind me of R2D2 in Star wars), it looks to me modern light and fun.
The perfume lasted about 6hours on me and I would describe it as a day fragrance which is light and sparkly and just the thing for giving you a lift. I dont think it has any age limits and would suit young and the more mature (like me ) and I would be confident of giving this as a present.
On further reading I found that there had been a big ad campaign fronted by Sienna Miller which I had missed completely, in which "Orange" is called "The Fragrance of Happiness" and I think that this for me encapsulates this lovely fragrance. I am definitely hooked and it is the start of my perfume collection!

Thankyou for reading this review , also posted on Ciao under Splishsplash.
I'd wanted to try Hugo Boss Orange since seeing the TV ads for it and I was lucky enough to receive a box set containing the fragrance and matching body lotion for Christmas. The scent description was initially what attracted me to the perfume along with the pretty bottle design. The fact that I'd also used Boss fragrances in the past and had really liked them also drew me in and I was over the moon when I found the set sitting under the tree on Christmas morning.
As I mentioned above, I received the scent as part of a set with the matching body lotion. Both items came packaged in a silver gift box covered by a transparent, orange sleeve. The perfume bottle itself is a tall rectangular shape with smooth rounded edges and is made of semi transparent orange glass so the scent can be seen inside. There are four jewel shapes let in to the glass on both the front and back of the bottle which make it slightly more interesting and a silver metal detail has been used on the sides and base. A small boss logo is etched in to the metal on one of these sides and a small sticker can be found on the bottom which contains the bottle size (30ml) and a company address. The top is made up of another jewel shape which is made from orange plastic and this is again covered in silver. Underneath the lid is a silver coloured spritzer which the lid clips securely/tightly on to.
Overall I really quite like the design as it's fairly plain and simple apart from the jewel details which make the bottle a little bit more interesting and look quite pretty. The metal detail is also a nice touch and makes the bottle feel sturdy and look quite sleek. My only gripe with the design is the lid/top which makes it feel a bit cheaper due to it being made from plastic. It would have been nice if it had been finished in glass and metal like the bottle.
Price and availability
The fragrance is available from a number of different sites online and ranges in price depending on which site you purchase from and obviously which size you buy. The 30ml size is currently available from Superdrug, The Fragrance Shop and slapiton where it's priced between £25.00 and £26.50. The gift set containing the scent and body lotion is currently reduced at The Fragrance Shop and can be bought for £20.00 at the moment. As with most other fragrances, it's worth shopping around before you buy as deals can often be found, especially at this time of the year.
Top Notes: Apple and Bergamot
Heart Notes: Orange blossom and white flower
Base Notes: Sandalwood, Olive wood and Vanilla
I was expecting something fresh and fruity and I wasn't disappointed. The fragrance opens with a burst of sweet fruitiness with a slightly musky edge but quickly warms up and becomes slightly richer as the floral notes start to come through. The freshness seems to dissipate with wear but the scent still smells clean and summery. The warmth that comes through, in my opinion makes the fragrance feel a little bit more grown up and sophisticated while the fruitiness adds a feminine touch.
I think Boss Orange is definitely a fragrance that's more suitable for daytime use as it would probably be too light and delicate for anything else. When I first sprayed it, I was instantly reminded of warm, summery days and I think I'll probably be using it more in the summer months than I will now.
As with the other fragrance I received for Christmas (Gucci Guilty) I have been slightly disappointed with the lasting power. The fragrance is quite strong when I first spray it and it does stay that way for a little while but as it settles I find it fades quite quickly and after a few hours I only catch a slight whiff of it if I smell the areas on to which I've sprayed. I find the scent lasts longer if I layer with the body lotion so I think it may be worth buying the set if you decide to try the fragrance.
Would I recommend?
I would recommend despite the scent not being particularly long lasting. The bottle is pretty and quite unusual and the scent is feminine, fruity and perfect as an everyday fragrance for those who prefer lighter, more subtle scents. I also think the price is fair, especially now it seems to be reduced on many sites.
As I mentioned at the beginning of the review, I received the bottle as a gift but I think I'll be repurchasing when the bottle runs out, especially if I can find both the lotion and EDT for £20.00.
I first received this perfume as a gift which im usually slightly wary about as it can be quite hard to choose a fragrance for someone else but this was spot on! I have actually gone on to buy myself another bottle which is extremely rare (not because I don't love other perfumes I just cant be that extravagant at times) but I managed to find it just before Christmas for £18 for 50ml from Amazon...I believe it has gone up in price now but definitely look around and I'm sure you will find a bargain.
First impressions on the packaging were great, the box is a white colour with a quilted pattern all over which I think looks lovely. The bottle is equally as gorgeous it is quite a slim bottle with a curved bubble effect to the bottle, it has a silver mirrored outline and you can see the light orange coloured perfume inside. The lid is also great with curved edges and the mirrored effect....it definitely shows up some of the bottles I have on my dressing table.
The fragrance has notes of orange blossom, white flower, sweet apples, sandalwood and vanilla (only as a base note which is great for me as I'm not keen on vanilla scented things) It is a very light almost refreshing smell and is great for day time wear as it is not too overpowering. It also smells very fresh and clean! As it isn't a parfum the staying power isn't as long lasting but just for day time wear it almost lasts the whole day. I was quite surprised to find that they market this as being a unisex fragrance, which one I think the packaging and actual bottle is far too girly and the fragrance is very feminine...I have been trying to get my boyfriend to use it to see if the scent changes at all but so far no such luck!
Overall a great everyday perfume that I will continue to use!
Within the myriad of presents my Brother has given me over the years, I was delighted to receive a lovely new perfume from him for Christmas, the Hugo Boss Orange Eau de toilette. I had actually read reviews on this particular scent on Dooyoo before being given this fragrance, and as it was generally highly rated was looking forward to trying it myself.
The perfume itself was given to me in a gift box, containing the Hugo Boss orange shower gel and body cream, with the perfume itself beautiful displayed in the middle of the box, almost looking like jewellery with it's slim silver outline and light tangerine coloured middle.
The bottle looks expensive and sophisticated, with it's rectangular and transparent body, and it's curved edges which are made of mirror, appear very sleek, especially with "Boss" engraved on the side.
The body itself reminds me of orange segments and orange jelly, although the colour of the fragrance that you can see through the glass is quite light. I do remember borrowing some of my Mum's perfume for a school photo once (I don't know why), and spraying it on my clothes only to ruin my white shirt! So, spraying this fragrance onto clothes, especially accidentally shouldn't stain them as again it's very light in colour (I still wouldn't recommend it though!).
The lid easily comes off, and looks like a glamorous crown on top of the bottle, as it sits about 1cm above the main body. I'd say overall if you didn't know the perfume was by Hugo Boss, the bottle could certainly pass as a Chanel or other high brand designed bottle. It's fairly simple in concept, yet is elegant and not garish or boring either, as many brands of perfume can be.
Hugo Boss quotes the bottle as being "designed to represent the stream of energy through the body.". Not sure I quite follow that, however it's a nice enough concept and has clearly been well thought about. As a designer myself, I don't think there is anything I would change about the bottle.
The official notes of this perfume are:
Heart notes: orange blossom and white flower.
Top notes: sweet apples
Base Notes: sandalwood and vanilla
Now as for the scent, I was intrigued by the title "orange", as I have previously reviewed a similar eau de toilette from the Body Shop which is a favourite of mine, and generally I love fruity fragrances, especially for daytime use. I sprayed the perfume on my wrists and on my neck. Straight away you are hit with a wonderful infusion which is much richer and muskier than you would expect. The smell soon looses this hit, and develops a slightly subdued undertone. This is a little disappointing as the original fragrance is so lush, however the overall smell is very pleasant, and continues to linger on my skin for quite a while.
I think sometimes it's easy to forget that as it's an eau de toilette and not an eau de parfum, it will never last as long because it's the "watered down alternative", if you like. However, this does make it more ideal for the everyday and daytime use, whereby an overpowering fragrance is not always suitable.
My overall opinion of the scent, is that it would be best suited to warm evenings, perhaps moving into autumn, as the base notes remind me of leaves falling off the trees, yet the top notes smell like a fruity cocktail. It is a slightly mature fragrance, which in my opinion would suit 20's/30's age bracket the most, as what with the design of the bottle and the way in which the scent develops, to me sums up that age range the most, although that is just down to my personal opinion.
As this was a present I obviously didn't choose it for myself. Does it make for a suitable gift? I would say on the whole, yes it does. Perfume shopping for other people, especially when you don't know exactly what they like can be an absolute minefield (even more so if you are a man buying a woman's fragrance!). Hugo Boss Orange is subtle, fruity, yet not overly suggestive of a person's taste which in my opinion is a safe bet, in the rocky territory that is choosing a perfume for someone as a gift.
Would I buy it for myself? After careful consideration, perhaps not. That's not to say by any means this is an unpleasant fragrance, infact after a few sprays I think it's rather glorious, and the bottle looks beautiful on my dressing table. My problem is, that unfortunately, it's simply too light for my personal preference as I don't like to re apply my fragrance more than twice in a day, which is what I would have to do with this perfume, if I wore it on a regular basis.
Hugo Boss Orange is a pleasant, fruity and mysterious fragrance, which retails for around £34 for a 50ml bottle, although it is available in other sizes too, such as the 30ml bottle. In my opinion, that is a fair price for this and certainly was a welcomed gift, but as with all perfumes if buying for yourself I'd always recommend trying it first. I'm giving this fragrance 4/5 Dooyoo stars, for being a decadent and elegant scent, but unfortunately it's initial hit, doesn't last as long as I would have liked.
The 14th December marked my 26th birthday where I was very spoilt indeed I had many wonderful gifts which all are on my 'to review list'. The first which comes to mind I had no idea I was going to receive, but as my wonderful fiancé Joseph knows me so well he knew I wanted this.
Hugo Boss Orange for Women Eau De Toilette:
'Passion and creativity are the very essence of the Boss Orange woman'
A couple of weeks back me and my partner went Christmas shopping to Boots where I was trying to find some nice perfumes for my mom and sister; along the way I spotted Hugo Boss Orange. I sprayed it on the card provided and both myself and Joseph liked it, well me more so!
Well I'm guessing at this point he took note that I liked the perfume then came back during the week for one of my birthday gifts.
The Hugo Boss Orange range doesn't stop with fragrances it's also branching out into the shades range making upcoming trendy eyewear for 2011. Until researching Boss Orange I never knew that they also do the Boss Orange clothing and accessory range for men and women.
It also consists of body washes, moisturiser's and deodorant sprays.
Top Notes - Sweet apple.
Heart Notes - White flowers.
Base Notes - Vanilla and sandalwood.
The first time I smelt this perfume I fell in the love for me it was perfect, light but very aroma-full with being overpowering and very good staying power.
Mine came in a gift set with body lotion which I shall be using after my bath later, soon as I opened the perfume I sprayed it straight away on my neck and wrist. It's a light fresh scent where you soon start to smell sweet apples with a hint of vanilla and sandalwood.
The sweet apple did fade out slightly and you have more hints of floral, vanilla and sandalwood all combining very well together it a light, sweet, happy, warming aroma.
After about two hours I think the scent gets lighter but then lingers for a further four hours. After six hours it is still present on the skin but clearly not as strong, so re-application if your off out would be needed. However I never spray much I squirt one on my wrists then rub them together then one on my neck. So if you spray more I think you would get longer lasting results.
As it was my birthday I had many visitors popping around my house dropping cards and gifts off (I have a massive family) Where by young and old I was complimented on how nice I smelt! Even my Nan liked this perfume and I have one of the fussiest Nan's in the world! Oh the stories I could tell!
Price and Availability:
Hugo Boss Orange can be purchased from chemists and some supermarkets; however looking online they are much cheaper.
30ml - from £22.00
50ml - from £30.00
75ml - from £35.00
Mine was purchased from Boots in the Merry Hill shopping centre and for the 30ml bottle and 50ml of body lotion in a gift box for £26.00 which I think is great value for money and would be perfect for gifts.
Personally for me you can not go wrong with this perfume, it has plenty of aromas without being to in your face. It looks pretty; they do great gift sets and excellent value for money. I find it a good all round perfume for day or night and it makes me feel pretty when wearing it!
A huge five out of five from me!
Thanks for reading :o)
Hugo Boss Orange is fronted by Sienna Miller where she quoted it to be the 'fragrance of happiness' and I completely agree.

Now that Christmas is fast approaching presents is something I really need to get ready. I have always found that perfume is a great present as both sexes can wear perfume (I find it hard to buy presents for men).
I have seen the Boss orange advert on TV countless times with Sienna Miller. I have to say that the advert didn't look that appealing but I ordered a trial from the website. This takes a really long time to be sent out and so I would advise going into store to try it out instead. It took at over 3 weeks for me to receive it. It comes in a tissue material that has been soaked in the perfume. It is not really easy to get the perfume onto the skin so I could only really smell it when it was on the tissue. The smell of the perfume on the tissue and on my skin was different and so it was good that I had bought my perfume in store so I could try it before buying it.
Heart notes: White Flower Notes, Orange Blossom
Top notes: Sweet Apples
Base notes: Sandalwood, Olive Wood, Vanilla
The scent is fresh, clean and fruity and ideal for the summer/spring. It is my work perfume as it lasts a decent 5 - 8 hours which is perfect for work as if I go out in the evening I can wear a different perfume without it causing a mix. I was a little hesitant that the perfume may smell foul as when I have peeled oranges the smell stays on my fingers and it is really potent even after washing them. This is not the case thought, the perfume is fresh and fruity but definitely not foul.
The main reason I was attracted to the perfume was the design of the bottle. It looks like a consecutive square design that is orange and long and tall. The lid on the bottle is also like a square prism. The bottle is translucent so it can be seen how much perfume is left. The cardboard packaging is also very attractive as it is a white box that is designed in a quilted pattern with orange dots at the crossing.
I bought the 50ml bottle for only £18.00 from Superdrug which normally costs £34.99. It is half price at £19.99 but I had a voucher for 10% and so it was £18.00. This is a real bargain and it is especially good as it would be a perfect Christmas gift.
Check it out.
Hugo Boss: Orange is a designer brand fragrance that has been heavily marketed with leading lady Sienna Miller providing the face of the campaign. It is best described as a summery fragrance and gives the impression of a sunny, fruity fragrance.
Hugo Boss: Orange is available to buy from most beauty and fragrance retailers. Going on the current prices from Boots, you can buy a 30ml bottle with 50ml body lotion for £26.00, a 50ml bottle costs £36.00, and a 75ml bottle costs £46.00. This is reasonable enough for a designer brand fragrance but I am really disappointed with the price I paid for a fragrance that is so unpleasant.
The bottle is made of clear glass that allows you to easily see how much perfume is left inside. The glass has a blocky ribbed effect running down the front and back panels. The bottle itself has a tall, thin shape and the spray pump is covered by a very cheap feeling plastic lid.
Product description: "Boss Orange is a captivating scent that opens with an uplifting burst of crispy apple and bergamot, giving a delicately feminine first impression. Meanwhile, the subtle heart notes of the scent, composed of white flower notes and orange blossom, create a carefree, light hearted edge. The base is characterised by notes of sandalwood, olive wood and creamy vanilla which combine to create a real sense of depth, adding layers of light intensity. The resulting scent is vivacious, free-spirited and soulful."
Sounds dreamy, doesn't it? I bought this perfume thinking that it would be well suited to my love of fresh, fruity scents and that the vanilla would give it an edge of sweetness. Sadly I have been very disappointed with the smell that this perfume gives off. When it is applied, the scent is quite strong and seems chaotic. None of the notes seem to blend and complement each other, and I get a very sharp tone coming through which smells sour. I am unable to pick out any of the individual notes, although my other half neatly observed that it was orange blossom scented, not orange fruit.
The overwhelming aroma that is given off is sickly and sour. It is not at all soft, fresh and fruity like I had imagined. Maybe there are just too many elements to this perfume but something is really not right here. It is very unpleasant and does not give me that comfortable, confident feeling that I expect a good perfume to give me. I like my perfumes to be a statement, and this really gives the wrong impression!
It does last for several hours, but after the initial powerful blast has worn down you are left with a residual scent that seems like it has gone bad. The woody notes come through a bit more but you still have the army of fruits trying to fight for their place in your nose.
I was severely disappointed that this perfume was not at all what I was expecting. This is not the carefree, light and fresh summer fragrance that I wanted. I have tried it again and again to see if I can get used to it, or if the perfume needed a better chance to develop on my skin but the results are always the same. I really cannot understand why this is so popular, and I would certainly not be able to recommend it to anyone.
