Advantages: Gorgeous distinctive smell, lovely bottle,
Disadvantages: Fairly pricey
This perfume was launched in 2001 and was first bought for me as a present from my parents when they went on holiday (ah, aren't they lovely!) and I've been hooked ever since.
---The Bottle Design---
The bottle design is sleek and sexy- dark red glass in a curved shape with a shiny silver top which clicks down (not like those screw tops which I can't get my greasy mitts round!) It looks elegant and makes an attractive addition to my cluttered dressing table.
---What does it smell like?---
The smell is gorgeous and really distinctive. So many people have complimented me on this perfume and, although the product is aimed at 20-30 year olds, I think that it is a scent which appeals to most people. It is sexy, confident and seductive without being at all overpowering.
I would describe it as smelling fruity but with an underlying muskiness. According to the manufacturer, the 'top note'contains blackcurrant, pear, tangerine and blood orange; the 'middle note' contains ginger blossom, freesia, pittosporum and hibiscous seeds; while the 'base note' contains sandalwood, cedarwood, vanilla and musks. So you see, I wasn't far off!
I think it is suitable for most occassions- it is fruity enough to wear during the day (although maybe a bit too dramatic for some!), and sexy enough to wear at night! I tend to prefer it as a winter scent rather than for summer as it has that slight musky tone to it.
---How long does it last?---
I find that this is a reasonably long lasting perfume- a couple of sprays on the pulse points in the morning and people are still commenting on it in the evening. Although it lasts very well, I wouldn't call it a strong perfume- it is subtle enough that people only smell it when they are close to you (and therefore associate the smell with you subconciously)
---The sting in the tail---
Ah, yes. It always comes down to one thing- the price! Unfortunately, this is rather pricey at £29 for 50ml but I guess that's the price you pay to stand out from the CK One wearers!
For someone who changes perfume twice a season, the fact that I've been using this for years should indicate what a classic this one is!
Summary: Fruity, musky perfume
