I have had quite a range of perfumes in the past as my ex-boyfriend was forever buying me different ones even though i knew which i wanted!! Hugo Boss Deep Red is by far and away my most favourite perfume and i absolutely love getting it as a present as its just not the same buying it for yourself!

The bottle is an almost conical shape, however it doesnt come to a point at the top. It is a dark red frosted glass bottle and the design was apparently inspired by the shape of a womans high-heel and the classic curves of a glass of champagne! The packaging for the perfume is a striking black box so it is instantly recogniseable.

The scent of the perfume is really difficult to describe. According to the Hugo website, the top notes are blackcurrant, clementine and blood orange - the top notes are the lightest notes and have a fast evaporation rate. The heart notes are ginger flower, freesia and pittosporum - these emerge shortly after the top notes initial impression. Finally the base notes are cedarwood, vanilla and sandalwood - these have slow evaporation rates which makes the scent last longer.

If i'm honest i have never smelt any of those in the perfume, it is just a really lovely musky perfume, not at all girly like many of the floral smelling perfumes. It is a well lasting scent, and i have found that it lasts all day but i try not to make a habit of wearing it in the day as it is more of a night perfume.

There are other items in the deep red range, and i received a gift set with the perfume and body lotion in. The perfume itself comes in different sized bottles, 30ml, 50ml and 90ml and the prices range from £24.99 to £45.50 (from the perfume shop). There is also body lotion as i say, shower gel and even a roll on deodorant, so you are all set from having the shower to putting on the perfume to smell amazing!

I would personally say this is more of a young persons perfume as it is quite strong and if my mum is anything to go off, then it is not really one for the older generation (i say that as my mum is in her 50s and she hates it!!)

As i say, i am a HUGE fan of this perfume and to me its the most perfect for a night out, i have regularly had comments about it and been asked what it is.
