Advantages: lovely scent, lasts well

Disadvantages: -

I have owned this fragrance for a number of years now. It is one of the rare fragrances in my collection that I replace as soon as I run out - that probably tells you a lot about just how much I like it! The perfume can be bought in a bottle of 30ml for £24.95 from Cheap Smells (RRP - £27).

The bottle is a dark red in colour and made of thick glass which is slightly cloudy. The top of the bottle has a large silver lid on it, which can be pulled off to reveal the spray nozzle. The bottle is slightly irregularly shaped with a wide base sloping up to a thin neck. It says simple 'Hugo' and 'Deep Red' in silver lettering on the front of the bottle.

I would describe the scent as distinctive and feminine. It is really unique and a smell that I love. It is quite a fruity scent but does have a slight floral edge too. Top notes are clementine, blackcurrant, blood orange, mandarin, orange and pear. The heart notes are tuberose, freesia, ginger, hibiscus seed and ginger flower and base notes of sandalwood, California cedar, musk and vanilla. These lead to a very interesting and complex mix of scents which is surprisingly not too much - I usually find that scents with so many different notes are too 'busy'.

The scent is described as 'seductive' and one for evening wear. Whilst I agree that it is suitable for an evening out, I also find is suitable for daywear. It is not an everyday scent but, at the same time, it's not too strong or overpowering. It is definitely a deep scent though and it does seem to change slightly during the day when I wear it. It is not too sickly and lasts well - it will last all day with just a couple of sprays. I like that the scent is not too 'young' - it is pretty ageless. I could see all ages liking this, from teens to 60 plus and it probably wouldn't smell out of place on a woman of any age.

Overall, I really recommend this scent, it is one of my favourites and I always like to have a bottle of this in my collection.
