Oh how I missed my Hugo Box XX! I had used and used this perfume last year and ran out a few months ago but last week I was bought some of this as a present. I do love the whole of the Hugo Boss perfume range but this has to be one of my all-time favourites.
The Hugo XX is in a gold colour glass transparent bottle with is a small cylindrical shape with a matching glass top. Underneath the glass top is a conventional spray applicator. The words XX are in big letters on the front of the bottle in a matt gold making the bottle look very sexy and expensive. The matching men's version is called XY in a complimentary blue glass bottle which looks equally as nice.
The perfume itself is a delicate soft scent and has some light floral notes along with a light jasmine hint. It is said to combine a "lychee top note..with a..basmati rice and jasmine sambac notes". To be this sounds rather far-fetched as I am not very good at picking out these perfume notes and the idea of basmati rice and lychee's is not appealing. However, the perfume does definitely have a fragrance which I liken to a creamy jasmine floral scent. It is light and feminine and lasts all day on your skin. The scent does not change as it wears throughout the day but stays light and crisp.
Unlike some other perfumes that do wear off after a couple of hours I have countless remarks throughout the day when I have used this even into the evening without reapplying. Despite this longevity the perfume is still light and delicate.
The perfume is sold in most chemists for around £30 for a standard 40ml bottle and is really worth its price tag!
