Advantages: Addictive, Unique Fragrance

My mother wore the original Poison when I was growing up in the eighties - and the overpowering aroma seemed to stick in my nostrils for years after I moved out. I didn't think there was anything in this world that would convince me to wear any variant, until one day I came across a sample of Hypnotic Poison in a magazine.

This little piece of cardboard impregnated in fragrance remained in my wallet for weeks - I kept taking it out and every time I did, I fell more in love with its musky, vanilla notes, and the sweetness of jasmine, which has always been one of my favourite scents. But it was the heavy almond notes which made it so addictive for me. Like marzipan, or even bakewell tart!

I once read that there is a chemical present in almonds and cherries from which only certain people get a rush of endorphins. I am sure I am one of those, as cherries and almonds do more for me than chocolate (!) - and it could be the reason that even when I have run out of Hypnotic Poison and am wearing another scent, I still have the odd sneaky sniff of the empty bottle - until I cave in and buy a new one!

This is a fragrance that not everyone will like, but those who do will love it. I always get compliments from men rather than women when I wear it though - so I suspect its probably quite a sexy smell, rather than a pretty one.
