My mother wore the original Poison when I was growing up in the eighties - and the overpowering aroma seemed to stick in my nostrils for years after I moved out. I didn't think there was anything in this world that would convince me to wear any variant, until one day I came across a sample of Hypnotic Poison in a magazine. This little ... I first tried this perfume in my early teens when my mum gave me a sample bottle, and I was instantly hooked. Hypnotic poison certainly lives up to it's name; I've had so many people stop me and ask me what I'm wearing when I wear this, and all of them say it smells like different things. In my opinion, it smells like a cross between ... Read the complete review

Not for the shy. This fragrance is my favourite. It is warm and almost masculine rather than floaty and flowery. Smelling it makes you feel like you are snuggled up in a cosy blanket by the fire with a large glass of red wine. When ever I wear this I am stopped by at least one person, (usually a man wanting to know what it is so he can ... Read the complete review

As a perfume addict I have a good few perfumes & in my top 5 is the lovely Hypnotic Poison by Dior. I currently own all of the Poison range perfumes & I will say that Hypnotic is my second favourite. My first impression of Hypnotic Poison is the lovely colour of the bottle it looks almost a blood red colour & is very ... Read the complete review

This perfume has become a modern classic to more than rival the original 'Poison'. I started wearing this perfume in my late teens and it became my signature scent -it is one of those perfumes which is so distinctive and strong that it really makes you stand out of the crowd. It's a testament to it's popularity that unlike many ... Read the complete review

This is my personal favourite and although I use other perfumes this has been my signature fragrance for over 10 years. Every time I smell it it brings back different memories and my husband says that the smell of this perfume is simply the smell of me. It is quite a heavy vanilla fragrance which some people equate to a chocolate smell ... Read the complete review

This is the second one of my three planned perfume reviews for this weekend. As mentioned in my Review of Dolce Vita, I did some perfume testing at a Dior counter on Friday. I've been exploring Dior very gradually. Most of their fragrances are very distinctive, some are even hard to like. It's good that they don't release insipid crowd pleasers ... This is my absolute favourite perfume. I started wearing it about a year ago and now it's my 'signature scent' as some nice boy put it. Hypnotic poision is undoubtedly strong, it's warm and spicy but at the same time kind of sweet (on me) but that's one or those things about perfume- it smells different on different people. ... I am a big fan of the original Poison, so I couldn't resist a try of this one as I was walking by the Christian Dior counter. Musk and sandalwood combined with a strong scent of Vanilla, chocolate and marzipan, makes this one a must for all you lovers of sickly but sensual smelling perfumes. I tend to wear this perfume when I go for a ... Read the complete review

Do not mistake this for the older version which was simply called 'Poison'. I wore this on and off in the 80's and recently went back to a perfume counter to see if I still liked it. One whiff nearly knocked me out cold! Good lord that 'Poison' is strong. If I remember correctly, it was actaully banned by several restaurants at ... Read the complete review
