Dior J'Adore Eau de Toilette
The first time I came across J'adore was when I was in JFK airport, New York with my then boyfriend (now husband) and we were browsing through the duty free perfumes. I was hooked the minute I tried the tester and you will now always find a bottle of it on my dressing table. It is one of my constant perfumes.
The perfume comes in two forms - eau de parfum and eau de toilette. The difference between the two is that the parfum has stronger and longer lasting therefore more expensive. The toilette is the opposite and therefore cheaper! The eau de toilette ranges in price from £38 and upwards for a 30ml, 50ml and 100ml. The eau de parfum is considerably much more expensive.
The perfume comes in a fairly simple and basic box; one which is simplistic but classy. The box is pure white with "J'Adore" in a gold, bouncy looking font. At the very bottom is the word "Dior" again in gold. At the top of the box is a little oval with "Christian Dior" in it.
Inside the box is the bottle which is simplistic but very elegant looking. The bottle has an hour glass figure shape to it. On the body of the bottle is the words "J'Adore" and "Christian Dior" all in gold font. The neck of the bottle is covered in what I can only describe as gold rings. It actually reminds me of the rings women in Asia put on their necks to elongate their necks. At the very top of the lid is a crystal looking ball. You can see through the bottle and can see that the liquid is a gold looking colour. It also allows you to see how much of the perfume you have used. I really like the bottle and the first ever bottle I purchased from JFK airport I actually kept and I still have today.
The scent is actually very basic. The scent notes are made up of bergamot, rose, plum and jasmine. I love the scent. It is classy, sexy but remains fresh and clean. It is a lovely mix of florals and fruit - I think it is probably the perfect mixture of the two as each of the scent notes compliments the other. When I first put it on, the first scent I smell is the rose with jasmine wrapped delicately around it, creating a stunning, alurring aroma. As the scent settles on my skin the plum scent comes through and creates what I call a sparkle of scent which makes the scent almost velvet like to smell.
Given that the eau de toilette is supposed to be less scented than that of the eau de parfum and is not meant to last as long, this does pretty well. I find that it always last around 8 hours on me which is usually the maximum I think a perfume can last for. The scent really holds on the skin and isn't subtle but is not overly strong either. It has an expensive smell to it - when you sniff if you can tell it is more of an expensive scent and the difference between J'Adore and my celebrity scents is huge.
Highly recommended. I do suggest going for the eau de toilette instead of the eau de parfum as I do not think there is much difference between the two.
