This is an incredibly sensual and tempting scent which I have used in the last couple of years on a regular basis. It is sweet and floral, powdery and vanilla scented at the same time, and is popular with many women because of its media coverage. A 50ml bottle of this is currently on sale for £43.65 in Boots. With regards to its composition, its notes are as follows:
Top: orange blossom, mandarin orange, star anise, pear, rose and bergmot
Middle (heart): iris, ginger, plum, orchid, tuberose and ylang-ylang
Base: amber, musk, vanilla, cinnamon and sandalwood
I find that the most prominent notes are that of the vanilla, orange blossom, star anise and amber, with the least noticeable notes being bergamot, sandalwood and tuberose. The fragrance is quite buildable and wearbale both during the day and the night. It's popular amongst my friends and younger women, but my mother and her friends find this perfume too 'girly' and sweet for them. The bottle itself is sexy like the fragrance (I have had to keep my male friends away from touching it, haha), and you can clearly see how much you have used/ how much is left. The sillage and longevity of this perfume are great too, making this perfume one that is good value for money. It doesn't burst like many other perfumes I have tried (such as Cinema by YSL), but is it noticeable in a room full of people, and smells like a milder version of the parfum (as expected), but I remember thinking on a number of occasions that it's similar to Ellie Saab because of the white floral fragrance.
So it was Christmas recently, and as always I didn’t really have an idea in mind of what I wanted. I had received a sample from Superdrug last time I bought a perfume for Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Intense and it smelt DIVINE. However, this perfume costs about £60 and I didn’t want to be so demanding of family members who are strapped for cash, so alternatively I asked for this Jean Paul Gaultier Eau de Toilette which was half the price at only £29.50 from The Perfume Shop.
The perfume comes in quite a fiddly little get up – stored inside a tin. My mum assured me that the lady had demonstrated how she should open it, and it was straightforward, with a flick of the tin lid and the perfume bottle is inside. It is attached to the base but I still found this whole arrangement too complicated so was less frustrating for me to just take it apart and discard the tin it came in. The bottle is uniquely designed to Jean Paul Gaultier with the trademark bottle in the shape of a feminine torso which I quite like and sits looking beautiful on my dresser.
The scent of the perfume (in my opinion) is really feminine and certainly like no other perfume I have had before. It does come across quite an expensive fragrance (although it doesn’t really break the bank) The top notes of the fragrance are rose with heart notes of orchid combined with orange blossom and base notes of vanilla and soft wood which all combined together are gorgeous. Soft yet sensuous and really romantic in my opinion!
I really like this perfume as it has another layer and dimensions which is quite appropriate for like a date night aroma and is very long lasting. It’s definitely a fragrance which for me spills out confidence with its bold scent and powerful aroma. It is strong in a noticeable way, and definitely soaks in to give warmth and is good quality.
I do think the smell is a good one for all year round, but certainly a dark, inviting playful scent guaranteed to make any woman feel powerful and playful - and makes me feel a bit more alive and vibrant as soon as I spray it.
Overall, I really like this scent, and I can guarantee I will purchase this again. At 20ml it is not at all large, so I tend to use this sparingly! Only a couple of squirts are needed and I know this will serve me well and last a decent length of time. This doesn't come in the lower scale of the price spectrum and I probably think it's the name and the elegant packaging why the price is so high, but since I do quite like it I would say it is worth it and would recommend to others who like a daring, feminine sexy scent!
This was the first perfume I had as an adult and is one I eke returning to. No matter what others I try I an a Clasique girl at heart.
Jean Paul Gaultier's Classique is one of the most iconic perfumes there is, both in design and scent. The first time I bought it I was attracted to the bottle. It is a glass bottle of a woman's hourglass figure in lingerie. The bottle itself is clear, with the lingerie aspect frosted clear glass. Through this you can see the perfume which is a seductive peach colour. The spray elemental the bottle is silver with an almost ringpull mechanism which stops the perfume from being sprayed accidentally. The bottle comes packed in a silver tin with ridges around it. Although the bottle is the beautiful part of the design, if you want to keep perfume for a while it will last much longer if you keep it inside the tin.
I find Classique quite a heavy scent, yet the tones in it compliment eachother beautiful. I would describe it as strong but not overpowering and it isn't a perfume which lingers in a room once you have left it! Personally, I tend to spray the air and walk into theperfume so that it is not too heavy on my skin. To me the main scents are rose, orange and vanilla. Because of the mix I would not describe it as an overly flowery perfume, more a fresh scent which has many natural tones.
A's I say, this is a perfume I returned again and again. To me it is the best perfume there is. It can be quite expensive, normally around £50 A bottle, but it lasts well as you don't need to keep applying. It makes a great present for most women, whatever their age, as different people seem to pick out different main scents. I can't recommend it highly enough!
I love perfums and and different kinds of perfums, from sweet to 'heavy' fragrances. But one of my favorites is this one: Jean Paul Gaultier Classique.
Jean Paul Gaultier is known for body shaped fragrances bottles
The look: The perfume is sold in an tin which is nit very ladylike but the bottle makes up for that. The bottle has the shape of a woman wearing lingery. It look very feminine and sexy. There is small 'lid' on the top that reminds me of opening a can of drink. It stops it from spraying by accident when you have the bottle in your handbag. You can easy pull it off and put it back on again.
Size: the bottles come in size 30ml, 50ml, 100ml.
Price: I find it an expensive perfume therefor i use it only when i go out. I paid for a 50ml £49.00 at Boots.
The Scent: Its a 'heavy' perfume as I would describe it, I find 2 or 3 sprays more than enough for the day as its strong but very pleasant for the nose. It has a smell of vanille, bulgarian rose, musk is absolutely lovely, its has a spicy , sexy , feminine smell.
There are some perfumes that are just perfect for a christmas present and I think this is one of them. It costs a lot but you so get what you pay for. A perfect perfume with a gorgeous bottle to feel sexy all day.
I first tried this perfume in a duty free shop around 4 years ago and fell in love with it immediately .
The first and most obvious point is its amazing bottle, you remove the lid shaped like a tin can, and inside is this amazing bottle, that in itself is enough to fall in love with.. its classy and feminine in the shape of a females body its unique and looks amazing sat on your dressing table.
I personally do not like very girly perfume but this is quite floral with undertones of spice an unusually good combination.
At the same time it is classy so feels good to wear , it is a perfume that makes you feel sexy when wearing it and the scent stays around for hours, its noticeable even by the end of a long day.
for me this is one perfume that when i wear it i automatically feel good about myself and is also a scent that can be worn both day and night.. its the perfect combination.
Ok it is rather expensive at around £40 and upwards but its one perfume that is definitely worth the price
I don't generally experiment with perfumes too much, and Gaultier's Classique has been my preferred scent for the last ten years. I admit that what initially drew me to it is the packaging, which is a case of marketing genius. The bottle is peach-coloured glass shaped in the form of a female torso, with the outlines of a corset and suspenders subtly created by using a different glass texture. The simple metal cylindrical container the bottle comes in contributes to the perfect combination of classic and modern (and I've kept the container, as I've found it very handy for taking your perfume on a trip without worrying about accidents).
Great design aside, what really makes this product a winner is the perfume itself. According to JPG website, it's a blend of amber wood, vanilla, ginger, oranger blossom and rose, which makes it sound a lot more flowery than it actually is. I'm not fond of floral and cloyingly sweet smells, and this scent hits just the right combination of spicy, sweet and a floral hint, without being overpowering. It's very much a classy and luxurious scent, without coming off as overly heavy and formal. It's definitely long-lasting as well, and just a light application can last you through the day-or through the night.
The perfume is versatile enough to go from day to night and wear the whole year around, if not for one factor which might give people pause: the price. I don't exactly remember how much I paid for mine when I got it from a Duty Free shop in Athens airport a few months back-I think it was around 60 euro (approximately 50 £). The price at JPG online is a whooping 68 £, but Amazon UK is currently selling it at a much more reasonnable 47 £. For me, the quality makes up for the price, and I'd definitely reccomend it.
one of my favorite perfumes no doubt about it, i dont tend to splash out on perfumes that often but when it comes to this This is a nice soft scent, sometimes it can seem a bit to sweet. maybe not the perfect perfume for summer, but in the dead of winter this scent will make you stand out. its perfect for a dinner or a night out. its so feminine, so sexy and powerfull.
i mostly enjoy that with just one spray its scent lasts all night unlike so perfumes that you cant even smell it on yourself so you have to spray extra, thats why its so addictive although its not a light spray its fairly heavy but i think thats what makes it so amazing. this is definitely a perfume to wear on a date not only does it have an amazing scent but the bottle lasts you months and months ive had mine for well over 2 years now for 2 reasons.. 1 you only need a spray or 2 at the most and 2 its the perfect scent for a special occassion.
When it comes to scents, I have never really experimented that much. I know what I like when I smell it on a tester, but I am not brave enough to splash out usually on a whole bottle unless I am pretty sure I like it. I don't even wear it that often, but I have two that I like, one of which I am happy to wear as a daytime perfume into nightime, which is the Jean Paul Gaultier Classique perfume, which I first bought in 2005 as a duty free purchase while on a honeymoon break in France.
Because I bought it at such a significant time in my life, and I only really wear it on special days like when we go to a family event, or on Christmas Day, I do have strong feelings when wearing this perfume. It makes me feel very relaxed, and confident at the same time. My other perfume I wear is Coco Chanel, and that is something for a night out, and makes me feel fully dressed and powerful. This is merely a bit flirty for me in comparison, and it is a powerful mood lifter, as if I spray it when I am feeling a bit down, it does cheer me up immediately.
I had a friend as a teenager who wore the male scent, so I was familiar with the style of packaging being a dress on a body, but I wasn't aware that the pattern of the dress changes each year, and these designs are not only beautiful, but extremely collectable. Empty ones can be seen trading hands on ebay quite frequently, though I don't think I would want to part with my bottle.
The bottle is sat inside a pink metal can. It is attached firmly to the base, and the sides and top of the can lift off to reveal the beautiful mannequin inside. This is great for keeping the perfume from going off because light can't get in, but also means I am most likely to take this perfume with me when we go away somewhere as I know that the bottle is completely protected inside this packaging.
My bottle has a dress design which is mostly a black lacey pattern, and while less pretty than some of the dresses in other years, it is definitely a classic design. The bottle is a spray bottle, and the shape of it means that it sits really nicely in your hand while you use it. It feels safe.
Using the Perfume
I don't have the world's best nose for what something smells of, but I will try my best here. Initially spraying the perfume on, the scent is straight away quite a sweet and sophisticated smell. This smell is long lasting and seem to stay pretty constant on my skin. I can be confident that if I spray it before an event starts, I will still be smelling just as sweet hours later, without the need to reapply. This suits me, as I usually have enough stuff to take for the kids, without carting my own stuff around.
I find if I wear a scarf when wearing this, then the scent remains on my scarf for a long time afterwards. I can still detect it if I sniff hard months later. Maybe because you don't wash it quite as frequently as your other clothes, and the scent builds up because of repeated use.
What is in it?
Looking online, as I can't detect this myself, the perfume contains top notes of rose and star anise, middle notes of orange blossom and ginger, and base notes of vanilla and amber wood.
This does not smell that floral to me at all. Maybe a little spicy from the ginger, and mostly sweet from the vanilla. That probably is why I don't notice much change to the scent for the duration of wearing it.
How much is it?
I honestly can't remember how much we paid for my own bottle in Duty Free, as it was 6 years ago, but a bottle now like mine (100ml) could set you back anywhere from £46.99 at cheap smells, up to £68 on the Gaultier website. While this is quite a lot, it does seem to last a long time. I am still on the original bottle with no deterioration of the quality of the scent over that time.
Smaller bottles of 20ml or 50ml are available on cheap smells, for £26, and £46.55.
It is a classic scent that is not likely to go out of fashion, made from a reputable brand, so to me, is completely worth the price.
Perfume is something i only ever get as gifts throughout the year, i never buy perfume for myself. I like many different brands but one of my favourites i have been using for years is jean paul gaultier classique, i get a bottle every year for christmas from my mom.
Everything about jean paul gaultier classique feels glamorous from the packaging , bottle, the adverts on tv to the actual scent however the price is less glamorous costing £75.00 for 100 ml bottle. You can of coarse get the smaller bottles costing around £40 for 50ml. I think the perfume is very expensive or at least it is too me.
Jean paul gaultier classique can be purchased in most good perfume shops like boots, the perfume shop, house of frasers , superdrug ,debenhams even amazon uk all sell this brand.
The perfume comes in a round tin can with the jean paul gaultier label across the front. I love the bottle its so feminine shaped like a woman's torso that's wearing a corset, its made from glass and the corset is frosted glass. The perfume being a peach colour makes the whole bottle look amazing and one i'm proud to stand at the front of my dresser to be seen.
Like the bottle the actual scent is amazing, its so hard to describe but i will try. Its sweet but not too much, a little floral and woody, some spice yet warming, if you can mix all these together its like that. A definite warming scent , one i feel very sexy and confident wearing. To help with the scent it contains wood, vanilla, tangerine, ginger, amber and violet.
I love this perfume, never smelled anything like this before so can not be compared with any others. I have been wearing the jean paul gaultier classique since i was 18.
I don't wear this everyday due to the price tag as i need the bottle to last the year. I am half way through the bottle i have at the moment and only had it six months. I use the perfume around four days a week.
I spray it on in the morning and by evening i can still smell it on myself. The scent is strong and lasts all day. A number of men have complemented me on this perfume and my partner loves it too (he has the men's version also).
Like i said the price is expensive and although i could not afford to treat myself to this i believe its worth the money and id be very disappointed if my mom never bought me it again.
I can highly recommend the Jean paul gaultier classique. If you are looking for a perfume gift for a special lady then this would be a great one to consider.
My favourite perfume by far!
I've tried several perfumes but I always keep stock of the "Jean Paul Goat". I first came across the scent as a promotional sample and from then on I badgered people to give me money at Christmas so I could buy some. Admittedly it is the most expensive perfume i purchase but it is worth it. You don't need a lot to make your skin smell great and the best part is, it lasts. The scent is strong and floral with an almost eastern/oriental kick to it. It's my first pick on a night out, dinner, party. People compliment how nice I smell and for added ooomph you can spray a little in your hair too. Perfect for all seasons and it's really timeless. Team it with the lotion and you can use even less of the eau de toilette. Everybody knows the bottle is sexy and you feel good as soon as you pick it up and spray it on yourself. Perhaps a little heavy to wear to work unless you like a strong fragrance.
My mum was the person that started me off on Jean Paul Gaultier. It was given to me as a birthday present when i was a teeenager. And after many months smelling it on my mum saying "I like your perfume" and "That smells nice" i finally recieved it for myself. Jean Paul is definately worth the money. I must say i wish my mum hadnt got me into such an expensive perfume. However, i cant resist it. It last for hours and hours. All day infact. There have been times where ive put my scarf on the next day or a couple of days later and could still smell the strong lush aroma on it. Many of my friends now also wear Jean Paul. Everytime i waslk past somebody with it on, i sniff it in. It is just a smell that cant be beaten by any other perfume. It is at its best once its been on a little while, an hour or so. It calms into the skin like a natural scent. I must say, i do save mine for special occasions. But sometimes i feel a bit cheeky and wear it to work just to make myself feel better. And my boyfriend loves the smell too. So much so that he went out and brought the male JPG!
I first used this perfume at a friends house and I remember thinking how lovely it was and that I had to have my own!
Now its not the cheapest of perfumes as it ranges around £50 for 100ml and at the moment £36 for 50ml. The perfume is also available in a 120ml, 78ml and a 40ml. They also sell other items with the same scent such as a body lotion, body cream, roll ons and body sprays.
The bottle is very unique and classic, it is of a womens body in a light pinky colour glass which is see through. The bottle comes in a tin which is very similar to a tin can but somehow it manages to look classy and glamorous.
The perfume includes the top notes of anise, orange blossom and tangerine (my two favorites), heart notes of ginger, orchid and ylang- ylang and base notes of vanilla, musk and amber.
Although a lot of people have said it is quite a vanilla scent I don't think this at all, it is a gorgeous fragrance that is sweet and musky yet not overpowering. It really does last this perfume which is great for me as perfume doesn't "wear" very well on my skin. I would use this for more evening wear but it could be worn a s a heavier fragrance in the day.
This would definitely be one that I would save up for again.
This is a really nice perfume that does the one thing that so many scents don't which is that it lasts.
It's a feminine and classy scent. Its unique bottle makes it instantly recognisable and an elegant addition to any dressing table with its shape of the female figure. I believe you get a lot of perfume for your money as one application is enough for the evening or the day.
I would recommend this scent as an evening scent rather than a daytime one but I have worn it during the day too depending on the type of place I'm going.
The scent itself is a romantic blend of orange blossom, tangerine and anise with orchid, ylang-ylang and ginger with a hint of vanilla, musk and amber. It's a floral-Oriental, fruity scent.
It's the type of perfume people will know as soon as they smell it and although its been around for a good while its definitely one I'd keep as a regular one in my collection.
It's a rich and well blended scent and somewhat sweet, but not over the top, and almost never fails to generate compliments.
There is a sexiness about this fragrance that starts with the bottle and then is enhanced by the wonderfully feminine fragrance within, it is a floarl scent with a strong blend of vanilla to it which makes it a wonderfully luxurious fragrance to wear, the only downside is that it is not the cheapest of products on the market, then again sometimes you do have to pay for quality, having siad that I saw a 100ml bottle selling for £50.99 on one online retailers website a while back.
The bottle is in the shape of a womans torso absent the head and arms, it is a curvy body, certainly a body I would not mind having although I would want some arms, anyway the bottle has a pale pink colour to it and you can see through it which I like as you then know exactly how much scent you have left. The spray top is very good at only delivering a small amount of very direct spray at a time which is a good thing as you do not want to be wasting any of this scent.
As I mentioned earlier there is a strong vanilla strain to this perfume and this is supplemented by some floral notes such as violet and rose, after it has settled down a bit there is a more musky feel to the scent and some spices as well. For me this is a fragrance that I wear for a night out rather than to the office. It is a sexy scent and one that makes me feel rather confident, it also has a lot staying power and if I go to bed without showering I can still smell it one me the next day after a nights sleep.
It is one of those fragrances that you do have to use sparingly which is not a bad thing given the price.
I have dropped enough hints to be expecting some of this in my Christmas stocking tomorrow and I hope you get whatever you want as well.
There is a warmth to this fragrance that I really like and it is one of those scents that really does deserve the word Classique in its title as it is a solid and consistent scent that is very popular and well established. This is not a scent that I wear on a daily basis instead it is very much one for the night and by that I mean one that is for going out and having a big night out.
It is a very feminine fragrance and also one that is very mature smelling but that does not mean you will be smelling like your mother when you wear this. The styling of the bottle is that iconic Jean Paul Gaultier womans torso, a rather buxom woman at that with lots of curves and it has a pale pink / peach colour to it
There is a strong vanilla scent to this fragrance and this is combined with some floral tones such as rose and violet, there are other tones as well according to the blurb on the packaging but for me these are the dominant ones, it is certainly more of a floral scent in my opinion however it also has quite a strong musky content as well which is what kicks in after a while with the vanilla and some woody overtones as well, it is a deep sensual scent that has great staying power and a distinctive fragrance all of its own. It is the stayiong power that is one of the big positives as well as this means you do not have to put a lot on which is a good thing as this fragrance is not cheap. Cheapsmells.com currently have a 100ml bottle for just over £50 which is a pretty good price from my experience.
It certainly does pay to shop around before buying this scent as you can get some bargains. I would certainly recommend it as it is a bit of a timeless classic and is right up there with Coco Chanel in my opinion plus it is cheaper that Coco as well. If you have not treied it yet thenm do give it a try as I reckon you will not be disappointed.
Launched in 1993, this elegant, oriental, floral fragrance is the result of top notes of anise, orange blossom and tangerine, middle notes of ginger, orchid and ylang-ylang and base notes of vanilla, musk and amber. This special fragrance is recommended for romantic evening wear. Refill for 'Classique' Refillable Spray bottle. Bottle can be covered with removable dress (Sold with 75ml Refillable Spray)
