I was introduced to the Jean Paul Gaultier range whilst working for a duty free company at Manchester airport and was instantly impressed. So many fragrances are quite generic I find, especially ones that are for men.
Now this is listed here as Eau de Parfum which traditionally means that it is a fragrance for women, whereas this was marketed as a unisex scent. Indeed it seems to have become an increasingly popular thing to blur the line between male and female products. I personally tend to prefer the slightly less generic masculine scents and find this unisex fragrance suits me quite well and at no point have I felt it was too floral. The scent is a heavy, musky, almond like fragrance that is at first impression rather spicey, but with a warm depth too that seems to really enhance the natural smell of the skin.
I would strongly recommend this to both men and women as its a quite unmistakable smell and I find any fragrance that doesn't just smell of alcohol a real bonus.
Also its available in two matching bottles that have magnets that snap the two halves together which is really cool.
The price is a little steep, but I think fine fragrance should be about indulgence sometimes anyway.
Gaultier 2 from Jean Paul Gaultier is a fragrance that transcends gender and is made for humanity. It is a beautiful mixture of vanilla, amber and musk, moulded in unison to form a sensual second skin. These seductive tones are blended through a smoke screen of incense and myrhh. Gaultier 2 is a fragrance that screams of seduction and the sensuality of skin.
