--- Introduction --- I was given this perfume as a gift. I used to like the original Glow by Jennifer Lopez, and when my parents saw this perfume they thought I would enjoy it. The scent is very different from the original Glow perfume, but I really like it. This product doesn't seem to be particularly widely available in Boots or Superdrug but you can find it online or in high street perfume shops. --- The Product --- The perfume itself is 'designed' by Jennifer Lopez. It is the second perfume in her line and its a very tropical, fruity scent. The packaging for this product is fairly simple, a red cardboard box with palm trees and gold writing adorning it. The bottle is also fairly simple. It is a clear, glass bottle, with a very wide bottom that narrows into a small neck. The original Glow perfume was designed to look like a neck, with the bottle wearing a necklace and whilst this bottle isn't made to look like a neck, it still has the same shape. The bottle also comes with a colourful bracelet around the neck. This bracelet is made from coloured threads and has a little flip flop charm attached to it. It is definitely not anything fancy, but I have worn mine a few times as I love the colours. The perfume itself is a light, browny orange colour, which compliments the bronze coloured spray top very well. The spray top has the perfume name written around it. It is written in a gold colour, but isn't very visible on top of the bronze colour. The design of the bottle is very simple and to be honest it doesn't look like much on a shelf. I know that the scent is what is really important with a perfume, but I always think a pretty bottle adds something to the product. The scent itself is very fruity. It has strong notes of coconut and citrus fruits. I can definitely smell grapefruit. It is quite a strong scent and you only need a few sprays to really be able to smell it on you. This is a big plus, because often cheaper perfumes are weak and you need to use a lot to actually be able to smell them! The scent is also fairly well lasting, I can still smell it on my scarf now, after wearing it over a week ago. I really like that this scent isn't overbearing and it can easily be worn to work or just during the day. The fruitiness of this scent makes it perfect for summer, but I have been wearing this lots this January. I personally think that the strong coconut notes make it a great scent to wear all year around. The price of this perfume seems to vary greatly from shop to shop. I didn't buy mine personally as it was a Christmas gift, but looking online I have found 100 ml available for £18.50, however some websites are selling the same size bottle for £40. I would personally say that £40 is very expensive for this product, even if it is a 100ml bottle, but £18.50 is a great price for a nice perfume that lasts. --- My Opinions --- This perfume is never going to be Chanel No. 5, and it doesn't claim to be a classy, evening fragrance. However, it is fun and fruity and I think it is a great summer scent. It is light and not overbearing and it lasts a long time, which is great for a relatively cheap perfume. I personally love the fruity notes and I think it is a great scent to wear to work or during the day. I would highly recommend this perfume if you like fruity scents. It is really yummy smelling and has great staying power, which a lot of fruity perfumes or body sprays don't. However, if you are looking for something a little bit fancy to treat yourself, I would say that this isn't the product for you. Also, if you are considering this perfume because you enjoyed the scent of the original, I would definitely try and smell it before you buy it as it is very different. Where the original had a very distinctive smell, this scent is not as unique and is similar to other fruity perfumes. I love this scent and I will definitely be wearing it lots this year!
As a rule Ive never been a massive fan of celeb fragrances. Dont get me wrong most of the celeb scents Ive tried have been gorgeous and a few of them have become perfumes that Im never without a bottle of. However my mom is the total opposite - if a celeb brings out a new perfume she will want to try and and 9 times out of 10 she will buy it - which is how I come discover all the new scents. J-Lo I think must be her favourite perfume creator ever because she honestly has every single scent ever made by her one of which is this 'J-Lo Miami Glow' which she bought home a few months ago and Ive been using it on and off ever since so I thought Id write about it today - its not the best J-LO scent from her extensive range but it surprised me with how much I enjoy wearing it!! Useful Information: Price: Around £16 - 30ml bottle Stockists: Amazon, Fragrance Direct, The Perfume Shop etc... Other Info: Also available in 50 & 100ml bottles for different prices. This perfume is designed for casual wear in the warmer weather - which I have to agree with. - - - - - - - - The Bottle: The bottle for this perfume fits in very well with J-Lo's other perfume bottle designs BUT in my opinion its a little bit boring. The bottle starts off rounded and chunky at the bottom and gets thinner the further you get to the top - its apparantly supposed to look like the curves of a woman which I can kind of see but to me it looks more like a stretched out light bulb - and the yellowy/beige colour isnt exactly eye-catching either. At the top is the standard plastic lid which is pulled off to reveal the push down nozzle which is used to apply this - the lid seems very secure to me as it has never fallen off in my bag and sprayed out or leaked so I guess the design is effective. This bottle can also be displayed easily as the bottom is totally flat so it doesnt fall off the shelf easily - the bottle is everything you could need from a standard perfume bottle but its not exactly amazing in design - I dont think I would have given this a second glance in the shop. As with all of J-Lo's bottles this one comes with a charm - in this case a very colourful bracelet with a little silver sandal charm, this can be taken off and worn as actual jewellery so I guess thats a nice touch. The bracelet and charm are definitely the best thing about the bottle design. Its okay but not J-Lo's best by far! - - - - - - - - The Scent: Im pretty rubbish as picking out the individual notes in a perfume so Ive done some digging around the net and found this perfume is made up of - Top Notes: Passionfruit, Pink Grapefruit & Coconut Water. Middle Notes: Cyclamen, Orange Blossom & Heliotrope. Base Notes: Musk, Amber & Vanilla. When you first spray this you instantly get a rush of the top citrus notes of Grapefruit & Lemon and it is straight away a VERY zesty and citrussy scent - which I have to say I hate. Luckily for me that dies down as quickly as it comes and fades into the background slightly as the Coconut scent becomes the strongest - that coconut scent remains the strongest the whole time your wearing this and the citrus remains in the background (but still very noticable). Now the coconut and citrus scents dont sound like they would mix well together at all - if I hadnt smelt this I would assume straight away that they wouldnt compliment each other but in this case they do mix perfectly. Thats surprising for me to say as I dont normally like coconut or citrus scents but if the citrus didnt give this a zesty edge then it would be a very boring perfume. The middle notes come into play after a few minutes and make this a much more floral offering - which again wouldnt be something Id like - however because of the top notes it makes sure the orange blossom & heliotrope dont take over the whole scent - they are noticable but again they remain in the background. I think the top notes are so strong that regardless of what the middle notes were they would be the scents you could instantly pick out. The base notes are pretty standard - they can be found in more or less every perfume on the market these days. Those scents dont come into play until this has died right down - so much so that you can hardly smell it anymore and the Musk is definitely the strongest of the three. I cant actually smell any of the Vanilla at all which is a shame as I think that note would have worked amazingly well with the top notes - its a shame that the vanilla isnt a stronger note as I think I would have liked this perfume more if it was slightly sweeter. Overall the scent is pleasant - not amazing by any means but its good for everyday wear, when you dont want to use your expensive perfumes too often!! - - - - - - - - Other Comments: Staying Power - I find that this scent lasts around 4-5 hours on my skin which Ive found to be about average. I find I do have to apply this quite a few times throughout the day so I dont think the bottle will last me very long at all - but its decent enough. Age - Now J-Lo made this perfume with very young women in mind so she aimed it at early teens which I have to say is about right. Having said that though my mom wears this on a daily basis so Ive come to associate the smell with middle aged women - try before you buy this scent though as perfume is a very personal purchase. Day Or Night. Summer Or Winter - As I mentioned in the beginning this perfume is designed for casual, daytime wear in the Spring/Summer time and I have to say I 100% agree with that. This perfume is floral and light so its perfect for warmer weather and because it so light this is a great daytime scent - it wouldnt be heavy enough fpr me to wear at night! - - - - - - - - This is an odd one for me because even though I do like this scent Im not sure whether I would buy it again. Its a lovely scent that I think would appeal to most people but the boring bottle and poor[ish] staying power bring it right down for me. 3*'s from me - try it for yourself as Im still undecided!! Thanks For Reading. x0 Salz 0x
J-Lo's previous perfume (Glow) was not exciting in terms of scent or bottle design, so obviously some may have reservations about the newer edition (Miami Glow). I can assure you that this perfume is entirely different, and should not be pre-judged. Spray with an open mind! I bought this as a gift for someone, but liked it so much i bought one for myself too! The girly appearance of the bottle instantly reminds you of a summer holiday so you would be forgiven in thinking the scent would be something summery and fruity inside. The mixture of flavours incorporated into this scent, especially the floral and tropical fruits (i.e. coconut) reminded me of a tropical island. It is a perfect perfume to take on holiday with you but I would highly recommend using this perfume during the day time. The bottle itself is simple in design, and reminiscent of J-Lo's earlier perfume range in terms of curvature and shape. The transparent glass is extremely different to others on the market because of the orange-tint. It would be easy to spot along the vast range of perfume's available today. The colours co-ordinates perfectly with the coloured charm on the outside, which doubles up as a nice bracelet too! The only problem being the charm can get lost very easily this way, and you'll be left with a very plain bottle indeed! It would fit nicely in a typical make-up bag because of the sleek design, so it is relatively easy to transport too! For a 30ml bottle, the price is really quite cheap. Average price i've found is £15, so it makes for a great stocking filler this Christmas! This range is probably aimed at a younger market: i'd say around 16-30. Therefore it would make a great 'first perfume' for your daughters and nieces. If you like this scent i'd recommend you try the other perfume's in J-Lo's range, including 'Love at First Glow' and 'Glow after Dark'. There are also shower creme's available in the same scent!
At last!!A flanker that actually does remind me of the original. Too many brands just tag on the name of the successer to dupe customers into parting with more money... MIAMI GLOW opens with a mix of fruity top notes, with creamy coconut and fresh, sharp grapefruit. It balances the line between sweet & fresh, binging to mind a summer cocktail. As the fragrance dries into the middle notes, it evolves into similar floral notes as the original GLOW. The floral notes are perfectly mixed with the amber, so that there are no individual notes that stand out. The vanilla/musk base reminds me of sun warmed skin. I really wish that MIAMI GLOW was a permanent edition to the J.LO fragrance wardrobe. It is far superior to GLOW AFTER DARK. The perfect summer fragrance. Scent notes: Pink grapefruit, coconut water, passion fruit, blackcurrant, orange flower, heliotrope, cyclamen, sheer amber, crystal musk, vanilla orchid and blond musk
Unfortunatley I may seemed biased against this product because I wrote quite a poor review on J.Lo's previous perfume. However the fact that I purchased this item shows that I was willing to give the product a fair try. I first read about Miami Glow in a magazine and the description sounded very appealing to me. (As all things do when they are written about I suppose!) I needed a new perfume desperately and went to my local Boots to find Miami Glow thinking I could get a tester and try it for myself. When I found the stand I noticed that if you bought the perfume you got the most gorgeous heart necklace free. I fell in love with the necklace and after a tester of the perfume I bought the smallest bottle available. I left the shop quite pleased with my purchase especially as I got the free necklace.... When I tried the perfume it smelt very sweet and what attracted me to it was how different the smell was. No other fragrence I had smelt was anything similar to this one. In fact I would still be able to instantly recognise the smell if someone was to walk past me while wearing it! Buying a perfume for it's difference turned out to be a huge mistake for me though! The packaging is bright and colourful and altogether quite pleasing. The design is very in-keeping with the tropical scent and the box is easy to open and doesn't wear down easily like some perfume boxes tend to do. The bottle is the same shape as J.Lo's previous perfume, something I thought was very un-original. I thought they could have at least adjusted the shape, even if only slightly. However the bottle fits easily in your hand and is small enough to fit in your bag. In contrast however the spray nozzel at the top it tiny. Because of the glass, the size of the lid and spray is a big problem. If you can't get the lid off first try then the bottle tends to start slipping out of your hands. Also you are supposedly able to wear the trinket that wraps around the bottle as a bracelet but in all honesty I wouldn't have a clue why anyone would want to! Its a lot like the type of friendship band you make as a child and the material is really itchy and scratchy, the charm (two flip-flops) falls off really easily too... The scent itself is undeniably different. It is very tropical and very musk-y. Suprisingly the scent sticks to the skin quite well, which turned out to be a problem for me because I really disliked it! The way I sum up this scent is to honestly say that it smells like sun cream, in all fairness it's a nice sun cream, but it's sun cream all the same. It's far from fruity as I expected it to be, and very clammy. The scent is also very summery, I can truly say that you couldn't really get away with wearing this in the winter. I still have half a bottle left and I bought this about 9 months ago. I only ever use it if I have nothing else to spray on me as I walk out the door. I wouldn't recommend this product because with the £25 that it costs for a small bottle you could get something a lot nicer. However I still wear the necklace I got free all the time, and I love it to pieces so I suppose to an extent to perfume could be classed as semi-worth the money!
A sexy blend of tropical fruits, shimmering floral notes, and sultry amber and musk, this sensual scent is as hot as its namesake, and comes adorned with a colourful beach bracelet finished with a bronzed flip-flop charm / Notes include passion fruit, coco
