*~*Introducing Wild Bluebell*~*
Wild Bluebell was released September 2011 and is the latest fragrance from Jo Malone. It joins the current line up of 20 cologne fragrances. Each cologne is categorised according to scent type and Wild Bluebell finds itself in the 'Light Floral' category. It is worth noting that Jo Malone colognes can be mixed together on the skin to create 'Bespoke scents' and the recommendation is to mix Nectarine Blossom & Honey or Vanilla and Anise with Wild Bluebell.
The Wild Bluebell collection endores as cologne spray, a body creme, a hand wash and also a fragrance candle. The cologne is described as "an adventurous new scent, drenched with the delicate sweetness of vibrant sapphire blooms". The scent is based around a make believe creature known as Wild Bluebell and claims to represent her "naughty but nice" side.
Each cologne is presented in an identical bottle (dependant on size purchased). The 30ml bottle is tall and rectangular. Made of thick, clear glass, it is completed with a screw top lid and a label confirming the scent name. If you opt for the larger bottle, the only difference is the bottle is wider with a silver, knob type lid on top.
WIld Bluebell has been created using various fragrance notes. Each note develops in its own way as it wears on the skin.
*Top notes (opening scent) - Bluebell. The scent headed by bluebell claims to offer notions of spicy clove buds, wild flowers, balsamic sweetness and also a marine like undertone.
*Heart notes (the main body of the scent) - Persimmon. Claims to offer a milky peach scent whilst orange undertones seep through.
*Base notes (the final scent) - White Musk.
Wild Bluebell Cologne can be purchased from Jo Malone boutiques or from www.jomalone.co.uk.

I was introduced to Jo Malone by my sister and we have visited the shop a few times for complimentary pampering sessions. Jo Malone are very generous to their regular customers and guests. I was excited by the envelope which dropped through my door last month. A new scent was to be introduced and the advertising intrigued me immediately. It has a sort of Alice in Wonderland, but more grown up feel with bluebell images, white bunnies and a lady spread out across the floral bed.
I first got to try Wild Bluebell through a sample vial they sent out to me. This was before the launch and I was desperate to experience the scent in full. We were invited to the official launch party in the Glasgow store and received our complimentary hand and arm massage whilst there. We also received a goody bag to take home and I was over the moon to discover a 9ml bottle of Wild Bluebell in my bag. Very generous freebie in my opinion!
*~*Shall We Meet Bluebell?*~*
It started with a sample and has now became an addiction. From the moment I opened by sample to arriving at the store and getting to appreciate the complimentary scented goodies and even when I opened my little bottle, I have been mesmerized by the scent of Wild Bluebell. The bottle may be rather plain and generic but when you walk into a Jo Malone boutique, they never look out of place. The bottle is of a high quality and my 9ml is the ideal handbag size. Jo Malone often place these in gift boxes with the other scented products so worth checking this out.
Anyway, lets talk about the scent. The name Wild Bluebell immediately drummed up completely floral and not for me. It goes to show you shouldn't judge a fragrance by its name. On spritzing some cologne on to my wrist and neck, I find I do not need much to make an impact. The cologne is pretty powerful and of a high quality. The one time I experienced the hand wash and body creme prior to spraying the perfume, the scent really packed a punch and could last all day in my opinion. Every product in the range compliments the others perfectly.
The opening scent of Wild Bluebell is highly intoxicating and comes through as vibrant and confident. The bluebell aroma is extremely uplifting. It is a happy scent which gives my senses and skin a scent boost and is a fresh, crisp aroma which never fails to disappoint. The bluebell is distinctly floral but isn't heady or too strong. It is captured in a modern yet aromatic form. I can see where the marine aroma comes in to it. The scent gives off a cooling, airy feel which makes me thing of flowers nearby a sea or river.
As the top notes start to whisper away after around 30mins or so, the heart of Wild Bluebell comes alive. I was quite shocked that the title fragrance note of Wild Bluebell didn't take centre stage but the scent has been formatted well and is highly appealing. The heart steps away from the floral aspect of the scent and delivers a playful, bursting with energy scent. The playful side is offered by the persimmon I imagine. It isn't a fragrance note I am familiar with but is portrayed perfectly in this cologne. It is soft and dreamy but is quickly captured and intesified by a zesty burst of orange. Bright, engaging and ultimately delicious for 5-6hours.
Bring this amazing scent to a close, white musk makes itself known to my skin and nose. The musk element is plesantly subtle, presenting itself blended with a hint of orange captured from the heart of the scent. The white musk doesn't overpower and is very smooth, gentle and creates a soft, lingering backdrop for the overall scent. It sits neatly on my skin for a duration of 5hours or so but gradually loses the orange undertone as it wears on my skin.
Due to its fresh, uplifting aroma, I would recommend Wild Bluebell as a day time scent. It is delicate yet noticeable enough to wear to work, out shopping or to lunch. I don't find it heavy enough for evening wear. I would say Wild Bluebell could wear beautifully on young or mature skin. It is a versatile playful yet sophisticated scent so could be carried off by many.
As you can imagine, I love this cologne more than I expected too. I think Jo Malone are on to a winner. My favourite scent is still Vanilla and Anise but for different reasons. As ever, I was impressed by the quality and staying power of Wild Bluebell. I plan on treasuring my small bottle and using it sparingly until I have enough money put by for a 30ml bottle. The £36.00 price tag is extremely reasonable for such an enticing cologne which will last for ages and I don't have a bad word to say about it.
Despite first trying this (in sample form) a month ago and then in bottle form more recently, it has had a huge impact on me and my sister so we are pleased to recommend it to you all.
5 stars from me and a thank you for reading my review :) x
