I had tried testers of this perfume when in Boots and really liked it(-the tester strips that the sales asssistants give you to smell throughout the course of the day so that you can see how the perfume developes). It is a delicate fragrance not too sweet, more woody notes. I really liked this and decided that when my currant perfume a out I would replace it with this.
I brought a 30ml from halfpriceperfumes. However, within 30 mins of applying the perfume I had come out in a rash. This was a very itchy red welt like rash that I have experienced a few times before with other make up products (including shampoos etc). I discontinued use for a few days to see if it was anything else in my beauty routine that had caused it, but as soon as I started to use it again the rash came back. I am gutted as I really liked this perfumes fragrance and it is a lot cheaper than my usual perfume choices! However I will be the first to admit that I do have sensitive skin. My son also had this reaction to the Joop! homme and he has sensistive skin too.
The perfume is now used to perfume my knicker draw!!
**** Introduction ****
This weekend I was going for a night out with the girls and I studdenly realised that I had ran out of perfume, as all of my favorites were all basically running on fumes.
I rushed p to the bed room and had a dig through my dressing table and came across this brend new bottle of joop.
**** Joop ****
Joop is a perfume that I have loved since the late eighties, I always remember stealing my sisters before I headed off to school. some years later me and a friend were on anight out and I recognised the smell coming from her.
Suddenly many memoeries came flooding back as I confessed to her the I was a Joop lover, evry since that night she buys me a bottle every year for christmas, hence why I had this un-opened bottle in the dressing table.
What makes this so special for me is that it is very sweet smelling and not at all floral, which is great as all flower based perfumes seem to smell funy on me, so I do end to stick to the sweeter perfumes such as irrisistable, Jean paul and certain ralph lauren perfumes as these are th eonly ones that suit me skin.
This comes in a lovely thick glass bottle, which is clear so you can see when you are running low and it has a pump action bottle, that lets out a small spray of perfume at a time.
These can be purchased in small 30ml bottles or larger 50ml bottles and it ranges from 24.99 a bottle, however I have seen this for as little as 16.99 in shops like body care and savers from time to time.
You can buy the gents versiona of this joop and this also smells devine, I have also been known to spray the gents on from time to time, as this is one my partner loves as well.
**** My Views ****
In the late eighties this was very expensive, although I dont remember exactly this maybe down to the fact that I didnt really have money to splash out on perfume at the time.
I now feel that the price is very reasonable and now that I have started to wear in again, I think that I will be buying a few more bottles as it is substancially cheaper that the other brands I have been wearing over the years.
The smell is very sweet an distictive so anyone who owns a bottle will automatically know what you are wearing, as it has a one of a kind smell. I think this is really waht makes it desirable to many.
I am so glad I ran out of my usual perfume when I did, as I would have never got this out and realised how much I actually liked it.
Designed in 1987, this luxurious, oriental, woody fragrance explores essences of bergamot, lemon and coriander blended with notes of jasmine, lilly of the valley and cedar.
