Advantages: Makes a statement for relatively little money

Disadvantages: Can be overpowering - go easy!

This is one of those perfumes that makes me wonder how many testers Lush must go through, with people wandering in and sneakily spraying themselves before a day or a night out. It's over £20, which might be a little bit out of the price range of some of Lush's demographic, although it does make the perfect gift for the older relatives of that demographic and Christmas is only four months away....

The bottle is a half-moon shape with a long gold-coloured top and an orange label. It's lighthearted and pretty, and although it looks a bit incongruous next to my Prada and Chanel No. 5 bottles it definitely fits in with that sort of scent - powdery and complex without being too overpowering - although you should spray sparingly to get the right effect. It's heavy on the essential oils, so some people find that they need to spray it on their clothing or on their hairbrush rather than directly onto the skin as it can smell different on different people and the unadulterated smell is sometimes nicer than the mixed-with-natural-scent smell. If you see what I mean.

The makers of the perfume say it's supposed to be evocative of the summer of 1969. Containing Patchouli, Orange, Lavender, Pine, Lemongrass, Elemi (also piney and lemony smelling) and Cassis Absolute essential oils, it definitely does that, and if Santa were to slip it into my stocking - or not bother waiting for Christmas and just deliver it now, I'd be delighted. A gorgeous scent for people who like their perfumes lighthearted and fun yet complex.
