Katy Perry Meow Eau de Parfum
Advantages: Pretty bottle, light sweet fragrance
Disadvantages: Doesn't last long enough and the smell is a little artificial
I am not usually a big fan of celebrity perfumes but there are a couple of exceptions that I have. One of them is Katy Perry's Purr perfume which I really like but to be completely honest as nice as the perfume is the bottle is the thing that attracts me most to it as I just absolutely love it and think it looks so pretty next to my other not so unusual perfume bottles on my dressing table.
When I saw that she had a new perfume out called Meow I had to buy it before even smelling it as I wanted the bottle to compliment my bottle of Purr. For a celebrity perfume it isn't all that cheap and I paid £57 for mine. This was for the largest 100ml bottle though and it does come in smaller bottles for less money and you can get the 30ml bottle for £30.
This perfume contains top notes of fruit and white florals as well as notes of amber, musk, vanilla and sandlewood.
This all combines to give it a much sweeter aroma than the Purr. It is nice but I do find that it isn't as nice as purr and doesn't have the same sophistication as that one and is probably suited more to Katy Perry's younger fans than women who are buying it purely as a perfume.
The sweetness isn't too bad but it does smell artificial and the smell of the vanilla is a little overpowering. I have trouble smelling any of the musk which is a real shame as I think had the musk been a little stronger it would have counteracted the sweetness of the perfume and made it more wearable for me personally.
It is quite a girly scent which isn't always a bad thing and although it isn't my personal favourite I have had quite a few people ask me what it is I am wearing as they have liked it so much when they smelt it.
This perfume also doesn't last nearly as long as it should either for the price of it. I can spray this in the morning and it immediately envelopes me and gives off quite a strong projection but this only lasts for three hours at the most before it fades to almost nothing. Given that I paid nearly £60 for this perfume I expected it to have higher quality ingredients and to last longer than it does.
The bottle also isn't nearly as striking as the Purr bottle. It is still beautiful and unusual but I think because it is such a lighter colour than Purr it just doesn't stand out as much. Whereas Purr looked and smelt more sophisticated than it should have considering it was a celebrity perfume this somehow looks just ever so slightly tacky in comparison.
Although this isn't the best perfume I still had to have it as I wanted the bottle to match my bottle of Purr. Had it not been for the bottle then there is no way that I would have bought this but it also isn't an awful perfume and although a little artificial it is still nicer than loads of the other celebrity perfumes on the market today.
Summary: Pretty bottle but not as nice as her other one
