“ Brand: Vivacious / Type: Fragrance / Concentration: Eau de Toilette / Gender: for women „
I am a member of a swapping site called bigwardrobe. When I was asked for a swap request I noticed this in the members list of items she had to swap - I was running low on my previous perfume so I decided to give it a go without previously testing it out - quite brave?!
Once it arrived I gave it a few sprays and went about my day - the fragrance lasted the entire day! It is a really sweet smell, the type which when you move the position of your wrist you catch a whiff and think "wow, I smell nice"!
My one came as a set, with body lotion and shower gel - I wasn't keen on the fragrance of the shower gel, it did not live up to the perfume in the slightest.
I would 100% recomend the perfume if you're very girly and want something sweet and floral! I'd also say, buy it on its own without the lotion and shower gel!
~What is so Vivacious about this fragrance?~
Kelly Brooks Vivacious fragrance is something I picked up cheaply in the sales and was lucky enough to buy for a bargain price. The fragrance looked reasonably attractive and inviting, as the presentation of the fragrance was quite nice. I liked the look of the gold toned box with its deep toned base and pretty motif and it seemed that the bottle had a tall elegant look to it which was simple yet well proportioned. I hoped the fragrance would turn out to be as lovely as it appeared it might and whilst I can say that it was a very pretty fragrance in many ways, it sadly lacked any real longevity and would fade away all too soon after it had been sprayed on.
~The high notes and the low notes~
Once out of the box the bottle did have a much cheaper appearance than I first thought it would. The shape of the bottle and the motifs on it had a slightly rushed and cheap look to them which spoilt the so called vivacious theme. The spray applicator did work as it should and I had no problems with it becoming stuck or with it spewing out too much fragrance in one go. I feel this was a saving point for the bottle, although I did often end up knocking off the lid and not being able to put it back correctly, which I found annoying. Try as I might to get the lid to stay on, it just didn't want to do that and the spray top often ended up being left uncovered.
The fragrance has a floral vanilla scent that has a fruity tone to it. When it first goes onto your skin your are struck by a very sweet vanilla floral that promises to be better than it really is. I found that when I wore this it faded very quickly and would be gone in just a few hours, which I found to be a disappointment. I often had to take the bottle with me to be able to spray a little more on, just to be able to feel I was getting some wear from this. That was a problem as the lid had a mind of its own and it often meant I sprayed the fragrance by accident. I feel this is a major minus point for Vivacious and even though I didn't pay much to buy it, I still feel it ought to have remained true a little longer with a better fitting lid to the bottle.
~Who might wear Vivacious?~
The fragrance has a very young feel to it and would possibly be a good fragrance to buy for a youngster who is just starting to experiment with fragrance. I cannot see this as an older womans fragrance at all, mostly due to the fact that it lacks any real depth to it and has no staying power of any note. Had the fragrance showed a deeper tone with greater longevity, I feel it may have appealed to a broader range of fragrance buyers.
~Summary and rating~
The over all feel of Vivacious is a sweet yet pretty floral and vanilla scented fragrance with a raspberry twist. It could have been a nice day wear scent had it been able to provide a longer lasting wear time with more variance over a number of hours. As I found it to be a very short lived and often flat toned fragrance I feel it lacked any real finesse which was rather a shame. The scent that Vivacious imparts is not very well thought out and cannot really be called a vivacious fragrance. As such I feel its real appeal is as an introduction to the fragrance world for younger fragrance wearers.
The price of Vivacious can vary and you can expect to pay £20 for a larger 100ml sized bottle down to £13 or so for a 50ml size. There are times when the fragrance is reduced such as in the new years sales etc and I feel it may be best to wait till then to purchase it, purely because it lacks any real finish and so does not warrant a high price tag. Over all I feel its not a bad fragrance so it gets a 3 star rating which I feel is more than fair. It never really hits the high notes that the name suggests it might and the sweet vanilla floral fragrance fades all too quickly.
I absolutely love my perfumes and bodysprays, but I use certain ones for different occasions. I tend to have my evening wear perfumes and my day wear. My day wear selection tends to be the cheaper variety of perfumes you can buy and I am always willing to try something new.
The other week I needed a new day wear perfume but wanted to try something different so I popped into my local bodycare to have a browse.
I came across a tall black and gold box that I hadn't seen before and soon learnt it was in fact Kelly Brook's Vivacious perfume.
This perfume cost me just under £10 for a 100ml bottle which is a bargain so despite not having smelt it before I decided to try it out.
The bottle itself is a tall, misty glass bottle, curvy in all the right places. The bottom of the glass is decorated in black swirls and flowers, minimal but enough to make it look sleek and elegant. The top of the bottle clearly says Kelly Brook Vivacious.
Spraying the perfume you are instantly met by a sweet and fruity sort of scent, it begins as quite a delicious fragrance but quickly changes into a more bitter and cheap scent, with a fake sweetness to it. My dad commented that I smell a lot like lambrini, cheap with added sweeteners lol. The smell doesn't last long, in fact it fades really quickly. It's one of them perfumes that are so cheap and lack quality that they force a headache on you almost immediately. I can't put my finger on the fruityness of the fragrance it's a warm fruity fragrance like a strawberry or a cherry, a bit like berries etc rather than bitter like lemons. I really wouldn't reccomend this perfume to anyone though it oozes cheap and tacky, however the design of the bottle and the box is rather elegant and 'with it', just a shame the perfume scent doesn't follow!
Wow, what can I say about this fragrance? Kelly Brook Vivacious is an incredibly beautiful fragrance. It has a strangely striking resemblance to the Kelly Brook we all know and love with its sweet floral fragrance it has a touch of innocence about it too.
Comes in a beautiful 'hourglass' shaped bottle, just like curvy Kelly. This is more an everyday perfume, it is very reasonably priced, in fact it is cheap as chips!!
A very young smelling fragrance, fresh and clean, like washing blowing in the wind. adorable. Available also as a shower gel and body cream, you really can have a truly vivacious experience.
The fragrance doesnt go stale or linger, not as long lasting as some of the other fragrances my wife has tried, but as it is so inexpensive she carries a small one in her handbag to reapply later on if needed. Very feminine, very beautiful, very vivacious
Perfume is something I rarely buy myself, usually recieving as a gift. This past Christmas, santa didn't bring any. I did have a £10 giftcard for boots, so off I went to see what I could get for my measley sum.
Kelly Brook's Vivacious perfume was selling in a gift set for just £9.98, and compromised 30 ml Eau De Toilette, 100 ml body lotion and 100 ml shower gel. I'm not a fan of the lady herself, but the price and the basic but reasonably classy gold packaging prompted me to give it a try.
Surprisingly I liked it. Ok, immediate smell after spraying was a bit chemically / Alcoholly, it soon settled down to have a nice berry scent. I bought it, and took it home to try out the other products.
The shower gel has virtually no scent at all, and is very thin. It gave a poor lather and I used at least a third in one shower alone.
The body lotion fared much better. It was a reasonable enough consistency and was absorbed easily by my skin. It was lightly fragranced, which is just right for a body lotion as any stronger would be far too overpowering. I don't think it's moisturising effects are great, if any at all, but as an occassional accompaniant to the perfume, it's fine.
The perfume, now using and not just testing, still retained the lovely berry scent when applied to the skin. It's light and quite youthful. The downside being it's not long lasting and after a couple of hours I couldn't even smell it.
Overall, for the price I paid, I think this is an ok perfume. It didn't last very long, so if you want a perfume for everyday wear, I wouldn't reccomend this. However for once in a while use, I would say it's nice and a good price. I'd probably buy this for a younger teen as a gift.
