Kenzo is a designer brand founded by Kenzo Takada in Japan. The Kenzo brand offers a select collection of fragrances for men and women.
Kenzo Amour is a collection 3 fragrances each coming housed in their own coloured bottle. The fragrances are based on the voyage of love and the notes used bring special significance from Indian, Indonesia, Mynamar, Japan and Thailand for a true Oriental treat.
Amour EDT Florale is the white bottle to correspond with the imagery of white flowers. This floral bouquet is feminine and is a lighter offering compared to the EDP of the other two fragrances.
The bottle housing the scent is simple yet feminine. It sweeps down from the top creating a generous curve and nips in at the middle before creating a wide base. It is clear allowing full view of the crystal liquid inside and is finished off with a white lid which assumes the white floral nature perfectly.
The Florale in the title allows us to determine this fragrance will be predominately floral so how do the actual notes match up with this?
*Top notes - we open with a blend of neroli, blackcurrant and touch of cardamom. Top notes offer us the initial scent and do not last long.
*Heart notes - fragipani blossom, rosebud and gardenia create the body of the scent and may last for several hours.
*Base notes - we finish off the scent with a delicate infusion of white musk and cedar.

I recently received a bulk lot of various fragrance samples and have had fun trying them out and deciding which ones will go onto my "to buy when I have extra money" list! I received quite a few of different Kenzo samples and although it isn't a brand I am overly familiar with, I am always open to new perfumes and little vials are ideal for popping into my handbag for topping up when out and about. One lot of samples I have are vials of Kenzo Amour EDT Florale and my samples are beautiful carded vials which adopt a white and pink colour theme.
The Florale aspect alone failed to enthrall me as my preference is for sweet and fruity scents. I have found though that I have grown to appreciate floral scents over time and now have a collection of them which I didn't previously own. The bottle that the perfume is housed in is strangely pretty and its feminity suits the overall scent perfectly. Although its simplistic appearance won't make a statement, it is pleasant enough to blend in with other bottles. It reminds me of Can Can by Paris Hilton but in a taller and plainer manner.
Amour Florale is an eau de toilette and I consider this to mean it will be lighter and not as long lasting as an eau de parfum. I change my scent to suit my mood, occasion and time of year and with this being floral, I spray it on when I am in need of a boost and don't want anything too strong.
A spritz onto my wrists and my neck offers a cooling and fresh blast of scent which gets my skin into a tingling frenzy. I find applying this direct from the shower offers a pleasant sensation and scent which settles nicely as I get ready. The scent that immediately greets me packs quite a punch and offers a floral splash which is fresh and invites you to delve in further. A distinct sweet note floats through and sits comfortably in the background and infuses with a spicy note which although warms up the top notes, doesn't detract from the fresh florals.
The strength of the top notes are shortlived and the heart of Amour Florale sweeps in within a matter of minutes after application. Here the floral nature of this scent comes into play and the freshness that welcomed us to the scent becomes stronger and more evident. I found this to be a bit too floral for my personal liking. The floral notes blended together to create a heady scent and I found it difficult to pick out the invidual notes as they were infused so intensly. The heart is strong and leafy for 2-3hours before settling to a sublte and lightly floral level for a further hour.
The base of Amour Florale was much welcomed by myself after finding the florals too heavy. A subtler approach is created in the base and offers a distinctly earthy scent which is perfectly blended with a light musk. This blend creates a woody but slightly fresh base which finishes off the scent with class and smoothness. The base allow close to my skin, offers itself to me for around 2hours bringing the continous time on my scent to around 6hours. Not bad for an EDT.
The fresh and floral aspects of Amour Florale would suit wear during the day time and particularly in the Spring. I feel it would be too heavy during the Summer if the weather was particularly hot. Its strong heart would suit someone who appreciates florals and I don't feel a younger female could do this justice.
*~*~*Conclusion and Recommendation*~*~*
Amour Florale is offers a powerful floral scent that not everyone can appreciate or carry off. Its florals were just too much for me to wear and I wouldn't purchase the bottle of this though I may suit someone who likes florals so I recommend it on this basis. It lasts well and is consistent during its span and can be picked up at a very reasonble cost if you shop around.
