<3 Sexy Darling <3 ------------- THE PRICE ------------- I was given this by my auntie about a month ago, she got it from Superdrug and this was for £19.99, this was just for 30ml. There is also bigger sizes available, 50ml and 75ml, although the 75ml is quite hard to get hold of in my local Superdrug, they only ever seem to have 30ml and 50ml. ---------------------- THE APPEARANCE ---------------------- The fragrance comes in a deep sexy red glass bottle which is straight on top and curved around the bottom, it kind of reminds me of an apple chopped in half! The bottle has a tiny black neck and a black lid with a nozzle which you spray the perfume out of. On the front of the bottle is KYLIE MINOGUE in a big bold white font which followed by Sexy Darling in a much more sophisticated font. The box which it comes in is square, the same deep red as the bottle in colour and it has black borders around the edges. On the front is KYLIE MINOGUE and Sexy Darling in the same fonts as on the bottle. Over the rest of the box you will find the usual useful information, how many ml you get, ingredients ect.. There is also a black K on the front of the box behind all the writing. Overall I like the look of this perfume, it makes me think that the fragrance is going to be very flirty and seductive. -------------------- MY EXPERIENCE ------------------- I couldn't wait to try this out, a new fragrance from Kylie Minogue, I had already owned one of Kylie's perfume and I really liked it and found it very pleasing, I didn't think this would be awful considering the one I had tried. Top notes: Pink pepper, pear and blood orange Middle notes: Red rose, belle de nuit, jasmine Base notes: Heliotrope, sandalwood, musk At first spray, the smell is quite strong, as with most perfumes I seem to try, and straight away the pink pepper hits me, you can also smell the pear and together these smell very nice. After a few minutes the smell had calmed down a good bit, but was still quite strong and the smell of the jasmine was coming through with the pink pepper and pear and it smelt even more delicious than before! This usually last a few hours on my skin, probably around 5/6 which isn't bad really considering the price! I find that as time goes by with this on, the musk and sandal wood become a lot more obvious and I find this makes the perfume seem more floral and spicy rather than floral and sweet, I love this perfume and I am glad that I was given it! I think this perfume has quite a grown up smell about it, being quite young I feel strange with it on! But it doesn't stop me wearing it baha! It does indeed smell quite floral and sweet, I find it is perfect for night time, as it is to much of a seductive fragrance for in the day and doesn't have a fresh and light feeling about it, it is quite rich whilst on. This perfume reminds me of one my friend has, Deep Red by Hugo Boss, it kind of has the same smell to it..so if you like that you will probably like this! Overall I would recommend this, strong, sensual and very grown up, I love it!
I am not a huge fan of these celebrity endorsed fragrances that seem to be ten a penny these days- I find them quite tacky and to be honest feel a bit embarrassed owning them! Well, many months ago Boots were giving out a £5 voucher off perfume when you spent in store....as from the reviews I write- you might know I am a bit of a bargain hunter....and so to maximise my discount I bought the Kylie Minogue Sexy Darling Perfume as it already had some money off it. I purchased the 30ml sized bottle, though from a brief search on the Internet I've found it can be bought in a larger 50ml bottle as well. The bottle is a deep red with a black top, which is easily removed in order to spray the perfume. The perfume, I would say is distinctive, feminine and sophisticasted. It is very strong after an initial spray and so only a couple of sprays are needed- drenching yourself in this stuff would be too much! But this is too an advantage as I find I can still smell the scent by the end of the day, and it lingers on the cuff and collar of your coat if you regularly spray on your wrist and neck- thus the bottle lasts a while! According to the Boots website, the fragrance is made up of the "exotic" belle de nuit flower and the red rose, enhanced with pear note, and then using musk and sandalwood to unite all the fragrance together. I'll be honest and say I couldn't distinguish any of these scents from a sniff! The perfume can be purchased at many chemists and perfume retailers- at the min a 30ml bottle costs £21 on the Boots website but I am positive with a bit of Internet searching a cheaper deal could be found. I finished the bottle- I enjoyed using it and enjoyed the smell of it. On my next travel for perfume, I noticed that Kylie Minogue has several scents on the market- out of them this is definitely my favourite....and after my initial dislike of celebrity perfumes, I have gone and purchased a second bottle of sexy darling! It appears I am a convert :-)
I only got this perfume a few months ago and I really do like it. I probably should have got round to getting it sooner, as a loved Kylie Minogue's other fragrance Showtime. I have also just completed a review on Showtime. The Smell:- Sexy Darling, when first sprayed can be mistaken for being too strong and overpowering. But a few minutes after being sprayed, the strong smell fades and you are left with a very sexy scent. This perfume is a feminine smell and I have been complemented when wearing it, which is always a good thing! I find the staying power with this perfume good, as it does last a couple of hours and after that all you need is a little touch up and your smelling sexy again! I would usually only wear this perfume if I was going out somewhere at night, because I personally think that it is too strong and heavy for during the day. I also think that this fragrance is not a summer perfume, as I think it is quite heavy and for the summer I prefer to wear something light and fresh. The Look :- I really do love the bottle that Sexy Darling comes in. It is a thin bottle in width and is blood red in colour. And because of the colour of the bottle you can't properly see the perfume in it. This may be weird but I prefer to be able to see the liquid in perfumes bottles, I suppose it just makes it easier to see how much of the perfume you have left. The lid of the bottle is rectangular and black in colour. On the front of the bottle it says in white writing Kylie Minogue Sexy Darling. I have the 30ml bottle of this, and I have to say that the best thing about the perfume bottle is that it fits very easily in a handbag. I don't really know about the other sizes in the perfume, but because of the height and width of the bottle it makes carrying it with you really simple. The Cost:- I thin I bought my bottle for around £8.00 or £9.00 from Superdrug. You can also purchase this at Semi-Chem for around the same price. I think that this perfumes' overly dear, but I would have a look around for offers, as you can buy the perfume in a set with a body lotion. Conclusion:- I do like this perfume, but it isn't one that I wear frequently during the day. But I do love if I am going out somewhere for the night, to spray this on. I find the fragrance very feminine and sexy and would recommended to anyone looking for a gorgeous fragrance.
I'm not a massive Celebrity fragrance fan, but I actually really like this. It took me a while to work out why, but now I know - If you like Hugo Boss Deep Red, you will love this, as to my nose it smells exactly the same. Sexy Darling is the latest in Kylie's Darling range, following on from Darling and Sweet Darling, neither of which float my boat... In most high street stores, you should find a 30ml for around £18, and a 50ml for around £20-£22 although yet again, I am surprised by the low prices advertised at the side of this page! Like I said, to me this really resembles Hugo Boss Deep Red, and as such, yet again this falls firmly in the oriental family of scents. I find this fragrance is incredibly warm, and I find that one application of this scent lasts nearly all day. I often find that a celebrity fragrance doesn't last as long as a 'designer' fragrance, and that is often reflected in the lower price. Of course, the 'heavier' the scent is, (I.E a nice, spicy oriental, compared with a light floral or fruity fragrance) the longer it will last, no matter what the fragrance concentration. I think that the top notes of this fragrance might be my favourite, as they are passion fruit, freesia and lychee. I really love fruity scents, but I generally steer clear, as I know that the scent won't last too long on my skin. Therefore, a fruity top note to an oriental is, in my humble opinion, the best of both worlds. This fragrance opens amazingly zingy for an oriental, it's really light and softly fruity. In the summer it smells summery, but in winter it seems to smell warm and inviting. The heart notes are far more floral, comprising of a blend of lily and bonoria. Again, I shall admit my failings and tell you that I don't know what bonoria is, but I certainly enjoy the scent of lily in this fragrance. The floral heart is perfect for this scent, grounding the somewhat flighty fruity top notes. Luckily, this stage of the fragrance usually lasts around 20 minutes, and lingers slightly for a long while after that. The base notes in this scent are amazing, I really love sandalwood, amberwood and vanilla, especially when combined with the previous floral notes. This is the part of the fragrance that will last the longest, so it really is important that you enjoy it! I really do love the pairing of sandalwood and vanilla, it has featured heavily in my previous reviews, I have noticed an unintentional trend on my part! In short, I do really love this fragrance, but I think part of that is emotianal, as it reminds me so much of the Hugo Boss fragrance I mentioned, which happened to be the fragrance I wore throughout most of my time at university. So I do think that part of my love for this scent relies on my memories of the other scent. But still, this is a really lovely scent, full of ingredients that combine together really well. The fruits are balanced by the florals, and the florals combined with the sandalwood and vanilla is a recipe for oriental magic. I would recommend trying it, especially if you do like orientas, or even if you are a kylie fan. It's a really nice fragrance, and may even change the mind of anyone determined not to enjoy a 'celebrity' fragrance...
Kylie Sexy Darling, by Coty, was released to the market in 2008, and forms part of the Darling collection which inlcudes Darling, Sweet Darling, and Sexy Darling. Other fragrances for women by the star include Couture and Showtime. Sexy Darling eau de toilette is available in a number of sizes, 30ml, 50ml and 75ml, which is the one I purchased at an unbelievable price of £7.99 at Semi Chem, but is available at other retailers. Sexy Darling is most definitely an evening fragrance and can only be descirbed as a floral woody fragrance. What catches your attention first with regard to the fragrance is that it is unlike the other 'Darling' perfumes, it is very sensual and rather exotic. It has top notes of pink pepper which I can detect easily, pear and blood orange which to me are a little bit lost. After the more fruity top notes die down, they give way to the main body of the fragrance, and this is where I fell in love with this perfume. I was blown away with the red rose, belle du nuit and more so the jasmine, which in this fragrance is devine. It is not overly flowery as it maintains some of the pink pepper from the top notes to mellow the floral aroma. I love jasmine and rose in fragrance as it gives it a rich sensual quality perfect for evenings out. The base notes combine musk, heliotrope and sandalwood, which is how this fragrance can be described as a woody musk. The sandalwood is just right, it gives a nice depth of character to the perfume, whilst still retaining the jasmine and rose. Whilst some celebrity fragrances smell a bit samey, or a bit sweet, cloying or cheap even, this is a million miles away. It smells rather exotic and sophisticated, I would never guess it is a celebrity offering. With this being as eau de toilette, is doesn't last very long, perhaps a few hours at the most, but for £7.99 I can't complain. I would like to see it in a perfume perhaps (may be available but have not seen this). The bottle is the only thing that lets this fragrance down. The bottle is designed by Lutz Herman, and while the bottle itself, which is a deep rich red, is not too bad, it is the plain black plastic oblong lid which lets the whole thing down. When I tested this fragrance, the tester bottle did not have a lid, and I was a little disappointed when I opened the box and I first saw the top. But don't let such a small irritation put you off trying this. Would I recommend this product? Yes, for sure. It is a grown up fragrance, perfect for nights out. And if you are a fan of woody, musky scents for evening then I would say give this a try. Note: Fragrance is a personal choice. Every one has a different skin type and a perfume or fragrance that suits one person, may smell totally different on another, so please test before buying.
There are now several fragrances in the range of Kylie Minogue branded products. The first fragrance Kylie promoted was the Darling perfume, which is sweet girly and feminine, then along came several more including Sweet Darling (ought to have been called 'A bit too Sweet Darling!), Sexy Darling, Showtime and Couture. One or two of those are better than others, but sadly the Kylie Sexy Darling falls rather short for me. The Sexy Darling eau de toilette is a feminine fragrance, that is not as easy to wear as Darling and not too unpleasant when you are in the right mood for it. It comes in both 30ml and 50ml sizes, packed into a red toned shimmery box with black outlining. The fragrance has the same shaped bottle as Darling ,but this time in shaded of deep sparkling red to match its box. ********************************************************* I had this kicking around for ages, but in its gift set form, which came in a larger box with its own matching body milk. The addition of the free body milk did give the opportunity for me to layer the fragrance and maximise the over all effect on the skin. Having done that though, I have to say that I found it to be rather over poweringly strong, as the body milk alone can give off a fairly strong scent The gift set was reduced to £9.99 at the time, which was a very good price, but the 30ml and 50ml bottles on their own usually sell for anything between £28 for the larger size and £9.99 plus for the 30ml size. The body milks range from £6.50 to £10 on their own and the matching shower products are a similar price too. So do look out for those gift packs if you are thinking of buying. ********************************************************** If your taste in fragrance runs to the sweeter side, then you may like this a bit more than I did. The fragrance is mean't to be a warm, sexy, and grown up evening fragrance. One you can spritz on during hot summer nights, as it will intensify when your skin heats up. The trouble is that its mixed with tangy blood orange and red pepper, which almost gives this a sweet and sour/ bitter aroma. After a while it seemed just too overpowering, so that I didn't really enjoy wearing it much. The theme running through most of the Kylie range is sandalwood, which is used as a base. In this case its mixed with the provocative belle de nuit flower/ night time flower, red rose and heliotrope. ********************************************************* Added to that is long lasting musk and jasmine which when added to the sandalwood gives this fragrance its longevity when in use. The fragrance changes over time as you wear it, sharp and sweet at first but over time becoming even sweeter, heavier and a bit sickly yet bitter too. On hot days its just too much to wear at times and can be a bit headache inducing, so is best sprayed on lightly. So in summary its an acquired taste as all fragrances are and if you like this kind of fragrance you will know its for you once you have sampled it at the fragrance counter. It wasn't for me so its only worthy of a 3 star rating.
(The majority of my reviews are based around cosmetics and fragrances. It's been like that since I joined DooYoo though; I don't want to be seen as someone who is only doing it for the sake of getting more miles per review) - - - - - - - - - - - The Fragrance - - - - - - - - - - - I love the top note of blood orange. It's pleasantly sweet, but thanks to the pepper there's a sharp bite to it. A lovely sweet/sour contrast. It's the overpowering floral notes that let SEXY DARLING down. The Belle De Nuit flower is sweet and heavy, and combined with the heavy jasmine I nearly always suffer from a headache when I wear it. Also, when the florals mix with the pear, the sweetness crosses the line into sickly on me. I also love the contrast in the base notes; the sharp, more masculine sandalwood & the more feminine heliotrope is a lovely mix. Thank God Kylie & Coty have had a break from the predictable vanilla notes, the results are wonderful. - - - - - - - - - Scent notes - - - - - - - - - Pink pepper, pear, blood orange, red rose, belle de nuit, jasmine, heliotrope, sandalwood and musk. - - - - - - - - The bottle - - - - - - - - They've kept the classical style Darling bottle, but have coloured the glass blood red. I think this colour looks really pretty. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Other buying considerations - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The staying power isn't amazing, but it's better then her other releases: Around three hours. Whil it's not suitable for warmer weather, it can worn as both a day and evening fragrance. - - - - - - - - - My opinion - - - - - - - - - While I wouldn't re-buy this, I admit that it's great that Coty have moved away from the sweet shop themes in Darling, Sweet Darling and Showtime, by finally releasing a more adult fragrance that could be seen as a representation of Kylie Minogue. SEXY DARLING is similar to Dior Addict on me, so if like that [but not the price tag, it's worth giving this a go]. - - - - - - Price - - - - - - As it's a LE fragrance, it's become hard to find on the high street. However most online retailers sell it. Prices vary, but usually the 30ml and 50ml bottles are around £10, whilst the 75ml is below the £20 mark.
Kylie Minogue presents sexy darling and sexy is what this fragrance is.The box is a simple cube shape and a deep shade of red and black with streaks across it and it features the letter K on the front. The bottle is the same rounded shape with sharp corners, and the same deep shade of red, it has a simple black box shaped lid, both the the box and bottle feature Kylie Minogue sexy darling in white small curly writing. The fragrance consists of the following notes pear, sandalwood, red rose, pink pepper, jasmine and belle de nuit. From this i expected the scent to be too fruity but its not its really strong, sexy and sensual, it is different from other perfumes in the Kylie minogue range because they are quite soft and sweet but this is really quite strong but not overpowering. I feel this could be worn both day and night, the scent is long lasting it doesn't wear off easily and when sprayed its not too wet and sticky it nicely settles and blends into the skin. Prices range from around £5-10 for a 30ml bottle to £15-20 for a 75ml bottle, gift sets can also be bought including a 30ml spray and 150ml body lotion for around £15. This fragrance can be bought at retail shops such as boots, superdrug, perfume shop and online at fragrance direct and amazon, the gift set can be bought at Argos online.Overall I would describe this perfume as being a strong sexy scent.
I absolutely love this perfume! I was introduced to this by someone passing on a sample to me and now I have a somewhat large bottle of it in my bathroom! I think it really conveys what Kylie Monogue is all about, sexy, sassy, strong and yet still quite feminine. I feel the scent of the perfume really reflects this, there appears to be many layers to the perfume really showing us Kylies many sides and personalities. It's a very classy perfume but also makes you feel very attractive and fresh and lasts all night! This perfume is quite different to Kylie's other perfumes, being a lot stronger scented and slightly musky rather than floral. The rich red bottle it comes in makes you think and feel sexy, even before you've put it on.... I find the scent very wearable on a daily or night time basis as it is neither too strong or too light, very versatile. My Husband absolutely loves it, surely a good sign of a great perfume!
Sexy Darling - Eau De Toilette is utterly gorgeous. I find it to be very different to the rest of Kylie's perfumes. The previous perfumes have been quite sweet, this one seems to be muskier and stronger. It has the smell of Britney's Fantasy, only very slightly but it's there. Wrapped in a nice deep blood red box with a glittering effect of 'sexy darling' written in white, with Kylie's trademark 'K'. The bottle itself is elegantly rounded - very stylish and quite attractive, with a classy black lid. Kylie worked with Coty on this product and it containts the belle de nuit flower and red rose. When sprayed you can clearly smell the rose. It's very sexy and makes you feel fresh and attractive. Also i have noticed this fragrance lasts a lot longer than Kylie's other's. I have sprayed this perfume at night and its been there the following morning. My boyfriend absolutely love's this fragrance and say's its very seductive and passionate. You can still get Sexy Darling from £12.95 at Amazon. I recommend this fragrance to every lady out there.
