I am a massive fan of Loccitane! For me right now the whole range is a must have and I am very lucky to have been given a good load of stuff for Xmas. I've been a fan of Loccitane for a while and used many of their products however it was all bought online so I never tried out their fragrance range until I made a trip into John Lewis one day and was looking at what was on offer. I picked this particular on up and sprayed in on 3/4 times and left, all day I could smell this and absolutely loved it! After then I was keen to get it but with the run up to Xmas I couldn't afford the price and had my sister not been so kind and got it for me I'd have got it after.
The good thing about Loccitane products is it sold in a wide range of shops both of the high street and online and more often than not is on offer of some sort. Loccitane has stores throughout the UK and a very good website to order from, they usually do the best offers such as spend £xx get this free gift worth £xx and they send free samples. Other web sites to order from include HQ hair, who again have done great offers on the range and Amazon and EBay. Debenhams and John Lewis do the range online and in store although this tends to be a smaller choice. The fragrance itself is available on all of these outlets/websites which is great and is available to test so if you want to try before you buy you can.
Price of this fragrance is £32 for 50ml or £39 for 100ml and it is roughly the same price wherever you shop however as mentioned above both Loccitane and other retailers will do offers so although you might pay the full price for the fragrance you may get a free gift worth £xx along side. HQ hair do also often give discount codes for 5-20% so if you buy from here do check online for the codes as this will save money. Some retailers also do it as part of a gift set for around £34 and has 50ml bottle and other cherry blossom products in it. My sister gave me mine for Xmas so I cannot comment on the price that was paid.
Packaging for this is very simple, a rectangular cardboard box which is pale peachy pink in colour with little flowers and black writing. The bottle is tall and slim in a diamond rectangular kind of shape with a simple silver atomiser.
Spraying this I use 3/4 squirts, on first spray you are greeted with a smell of summer, it has wonderful floral cherry blossom and Lily of the valley which combines with the fruit cherry and black current notes to create a perfect scent. It's light and well balanced between fruit and flower. I am a massive fan of fruity floral scents and so for me this is perfect. Although it is quite a summer smell I still think it's one to wear for any occasion, I am a firm believer in that what fragrance we wear reflects our personality so I have worn it both day and night in the winter and will continue to do so. I must comment on how well it lasts especially for an Eau De Toilette, 3/4 squirts lingers on the skin all day and it's to overpowering either. I may have only worn this area times but I have had friends ask me what it is and received good comments about it.
Loccitane is a wonderful range of products and having used several items before and loved them I am pleased the scents match up the same standard. This is definitely one for a fruity floral woman, I wouldn't give it an age range because I think this can be liked by everybody. At £32 and £39 it is a higher end price but it's worth it. If you were to get it as a gift I would recommend either getting the gift set which I've seen on HQ hair website and in John Lewis or going into a Loccitane store /online to get it gift packaged. For me right now it is among my favourites and I will continue to love it and use it often.
What can I say, this perfume really does leave me speechless. I am not a fan of perfumes which smell obviously synthetic and of strong chemical-esque smells, so for this to be of something natural is refreshing.
I really like this product. It is a genuinely refreshing perfume and I can't recommend it enough in this respect. It's fragrant and can be worn for any occasion, whether going out on the town or just for day to day use. It does smell fresh, it smells fragrant and is really nice. What can I say? It smells soft and comforting and isn't overpowering in any way. It does smell of cherry blossom, I'll put it that way. It has a distinctly soft and feminine scent which lasts for a long time too. For me personally it is something which I would wear because of the natural element to it but it's all down to personal taste.
The bottle is simplistic and pretty too which gives you the impression that it's more natural. That's why I love this product a lot because it is so simple yet so brilliant. It would make a good present for a wife or daughter at Christmas or even for a birthday as it is a genuinely nice thing to receive for any woman.
I think then we can gather that this product is really nice. But if you get a chance - test it in a shop!
I love L'Occitane body products and I'm lucky to have a hubby who travels to France often on business, so when he goes I put in an order for more L'Occitane. The company uses real essential oils in their products and no nasties so I know they won't upset my sensitive skin. My favourite was always the Lavender collection until hubby came home from Paris in April with a beautiful gift box containing a collection of Cherry Blossom goodies. The box contained shower gel, shimmer body lotion, hand cream and this cute bottle of Eau de Toilette. It comes in a pretty sugar-pink box decorated with cherry blossoms, so stylish it has to be French. The bottle inside is heavy glass, tinted pink and an unusual shape, like a curvy rectangle which has been slightly flattened so the sides are off kilter. It has a little silver metal lid and a spray top. The glass is embossed with more cherry blossom flowers and looks good on my dressing table. The 100ml bottle retails for around £40, good value when compared to some of the designer brands.
The scent itself is sweet, floral, but not headache inducing. I read somewhere that Coco Chanel once said the proper way to apply perfume is to mist it into the air then walk through the cloud to avoid getting an overpowering concentration of perfume in one area. Whether she actually said this or not it makes perfect sense to me. An added bonus of doing it this way is a lovely smell in your bedroom, but however you want to apply it is fine, it still smells gorgeous. With top notes of cherry and freesia, it is light enough to wear for everyday use but still youthful and sexy for a night out. I was worried that the scent would not last as long as some of my more expensive perfumes but I can often still smell it when I go to bed in the evening. Heavenly.
Whilst on my lunch break, my friend and I frequently browse the shops close to our work. One shop in particular is where we go and admire adoringly the Mulberry handbags :-) At this store they have a stand-alone L'Occitane stand. I like to try perfumes and on this stand they have several to test. I had a test of quite a few, but the one I fell in love with was the Cherry Blossom Eau de Toilette- I tested it several times! It appeared everyone else fell in love with it too as I got lots of nice comments during the afternoons about the fragrance that I was wearing.
I fell in love with it so much that I had to purchase it! In store it costs £36 for 100ml. In the first instance I think this is excellent value for the amount of fragrance that you get- I have paid that price for a 30ml bottle of other branded fragrance before! Thus (to make me feel less guilty about the splurge) meant that it was an investment purchase!
The fragrance is very sweet and flowery- so if that's not your thing you definitely won't like it. The fragrance is very light and incredibly girly. I have found that a couple of spritzes on my wrists and neck have lasted me throughout the day. This is now the only fragrance that I wear and I have had so many lovely compliments about it- it really perks you up :-)
The website states that it is a subtle fragrance with cherry, freesia and blackcurrant top notes. The packaging is quite pretty- a large bottle with a pretty flowered design in the bottle and beautiful writing on the label.
I would recommend this product if you like sweet, girly fragrances.
L'Occitane Cherry Blossom Eau de Toilette
I have wanted to get this perfume for a while and I saw it in stores for about £40 and then as I was going through the duty/tax free area of Manchester airport I saw this perfume and after smelling it I had to buy it!
*About the product*
The bottle I bought was the 50ml or 1.7 us fl oz bottle. It comes in a clear see through glass bottle, which means it is a little bit heavy. It has branches and flowers on the glass and it is a spray bottle.
*What L'Occitane say about the fragrance*
"A soft, fresh and floral subtle fragrance with cherry, freesia and blackcurrant top notes." The scent is also described on the L'Occitane site as "Elegant and Romantic"
The main ingredient in this fragrance is Luberon cherry. The cherry tree originally from asia is now grown all over Europe. Cherries were first introduced to England by Henry VIII - after eating them in Belgium. The cherry tree extract obtained for the perfume is very rich in fruit acids and sugars. It therefore has hydrating and softening properties.
*Packaging and Bottle*
Firstly, I really like the box that the product comes in - it is light yellow with pink cherry blossom flowers on and the box that the perfume comes in is collected from sustainable forests! Which is great, as it is helping us and the environment.
The bottle design is also really nice. It is a clear.see through with cherry blossom branches with flowers on again - the same as the box it came in. The bottle is a bit of an unusual shape - it is more like a rhombus shape, not like the normal cube or rectangular shaped perfume bottles. But I think that the shape of the bottle makes it easier for me to hold the bottle with one hand.
It is so nice, it is very very summer/spring time fragrances. It is light and very wearable at any time of the day. The notes in a fragrance appear at different times after the initial application of the fragrance - as the fragrance evaporates. The notes in this fragrance include:
Top/head notes (light molecules of fragrance that evaporate quickly) of:
Middle/Heart Notes (main body of the fragrance) of:
Lily of the valley
Base notes (large molecules of fragrance that evaporate slowly - so they last longer than the other notes in the fragrance) of:
*The scent and longevity of the perfume*
It is obviously mainly scented with the cherry blossom scent and it is really sweet and floral with a hint of musky notes to it (the musky scents and amber base notes). It is a light fragrance, it is very refreshing and it is really uplifting - I just have to spray it when I am not feeling to great and I feel better. As the day passes the lighter summery sweet notes are replaced by the floral and musky mix of heart notes and base notes, which work really well together to form a gorgeous fragrance - that it great for day wear and a sweet floral and slightly musky scented evening fragrance.
The fragrance may appear to be light, airy and a summery fragrance but it is quite strong - in terms of its staying power. I used this perfume on holiday (as I bought it at the departures duty free shop). I found that while walking around the various places such as Athens and Ephesus where temperatures reached a maximum of 46 degrees celsius I could still get occasional hints of the perfume! - even though I only applied it in the morning and I only used a few sprays of the perfume.
Overall, I am very impressed with the fragrance, it is light and very summery. It is really sweet and floral, so I like it instantly but unlike most fragrances I have had, this one actually stays put all day without needing to re-apply - although I like to spray it again anyway as I just love the fragrance.
*Price and availability*
I bought this fragrance at the Biza duty free shop at Manchester airport (Terminal two I think it was) for £22.97 which I think is a really good price for 50ml. They also make a 100ml version.
On the L'Occitane website it cost £28 for 50ml and the 100ml version costs £36. Also if you buy from their site you get two free samples! This fragrance is also sold at:
Lookfantastic: £36 for 100ml (free delivery)
QVC: £29.75 for 100ml or £22.76 for 50ml
It is also available at ebay and amazon. Other products in the cherry blossom range includes, a shower gel, bath pebbles (which are really nice), shimmering body lotion, hand cream, solid perfumes and soap.
Overall, I love this perfume! It smells amazing, is is a really good price, it stays on my skin/clothing all day and it looks nice too - the box and also the bottle design. I would not hesitate to recommend this perfume. It can be bought on its own and there are also cherry blossom gift sets.
*Amazing floral, sweet scent with a hint of musk
*Light and very wearable
*Stays on all day
*Very nice packaging and bottle design
*Eco friendly packaging
*Lots of other products in the range that have the same gorgeous scent

L'Occitane Cherry Blossom celebrates the poetic beauty of the cherry blossom and its delicate, feminine flowers during the first days of spring. The cherry tree is part of the Provencal landscape. It is widespread in the Apt region, in Luberon, and changes colours with the seasons, making it a source of inspiration for artist. Pure white in spring, bright red in summer and soft green in autumn. This luminous floral Eau de Toilette will transport you to the cherry tree-dotted hillsides of southern France with its delicate and fresh scent. Indulge your senses with notes of freesia, cherry and lily of the valley, underlined by a base of amber and musk that linger.
