“ Brand: La Senza / Type: Fragrance / Concentration: Eau de Parfum / Gender: for women „
Product: Undiscovered Perfume
From: La Senza
I first discovered the La Senza Undiscovered Perfume a few years ago after receiving a bottle for Christmas from my sister. I wasn't holding onto the hope of it smelling too great as afterall it was a lingerie stores brand perfume but I was pleasantly surprised that it smelt more expensive than it actually was and for me personally matched any of the higher brands scent out there, infact it quickly became one of my favourite perfumes and trust me i've tried a lot.
The perfume comes beautifully packaged in a oval shaped light pink hard wearing box with the gold logo embedded at the front. The perfume perfectly sits into the box with the lid of the box easily sliding upwards to remove the perfume, it's so pretty that I leave this displayed on my dressing table. The perfume bottle itself is in a clear glass oval shape bottle with a light pink lid, yet again it as the logo embedded onto the front of the bottle in small gold lettering, simple yet effective. To release the perfume it as a press down spray dispenser which is easily released once pressed.
The perfume itself is a unusual smell, but smells fabulous. The scent contains raspberry and pink grapefruit, warm amber, violets, wisteria and lilies and it also contains a concoction of aphrodisiac enhancing herbs. As it contains quite a few fruit smelling numbers I expected it to smell quite fruity and very sweet but it doesn't at all. It as a quite strong smell but not too overpowering, it's a little sweet but remains light on the skin, a very attractive and sexy kind of scent.
I use undiscovered for both day and evening wear. Once applied I find that the scent lingers on my skin throughout the day or of a evening, depending when i've applied. A huge plus point for me as I like a perfume which as lots of staying power.
I'd rate this perfume 10/10 and definitely a perfume which i'd buy again, again and again.
This perfume from La Senza is initially a fruity little number and at only £20 for a bottle it is pretty reasonably priced as well. The dominant aromas that waft up to your nose when you apply this are grapefruit, lillies and raspberries and these are what drive the fruity rather mature fragrance that you are purchasing. After it has settled on your skin though it becomes more of a musky, slightly heavy smell to it with violets and lillies comming to prominence.
I would consider this to be a day wear perfume and certainly it is strong enough to last the day from a single application as the fragrance has good staying power and I have bnever found myself having to top it up during the day as it lasts right through from early morning to the evening.
I find it to be quite a mature scent, not fuddy duddy and old rather a mature scent that really does have a nice esscence about it. The bottle has a simple but elegant design to it, an oval shape and a blended range of browns and beige forming the colour scheme with a single gold band around the middle.
For the price it is a good value product that smells more expensive than it actually is. I bought mine from Boots and it can also be bought in the La Senza shoops as well.
La Senza are better known for selling lingerie and nightwear, and the first I was aware that they also perfumes was when I received an email from them last year telling me if I spent £50 on their website I would qualify for a 100ml bottle of either Discover Me, or Undiscovered. This sounded a cracking deal, particularly because La Senza had a sale on, and I easily found enough things I wanted to qualify for the free perfume. In fact I actually did two orders, each of £50+ so I asked for one of each of the perfumes! I was really excited about my orders arriving. The scent descriptions sounded lovely, and 100ml is such a huge bottle that I was hoping it would save me money by becoming my daily fragrance for at least the next six months, maybe even up to a year as 100ml would last for ages.
I liked the packaging of this perfume. It arrived in an oval shaped pink cardboard container, with a gold trim as you can see from the photo. The cardboard was thick and strong, and the box looks pretty enough to be reused afterwards as a storage box. I have used mine as a pen holder but it would also be suitable (and more appropriate really!) for jewellery or mini perfumes.
The bottle itself is tear shaped, but you have to imagine quite a bottom-heavy tear- remember it needs to be big enough to contain the 100ml. The bottle is clear glass and simply says La Senza on it, and the perfume is a pale shade of pink so you can easily see how much you have left. It has a plain silver atomiser which I found to work very effectively, with no clogging.
The scent description tells me it contains notes of raspberry, pink grapefruit, amber, violet, wysteria, and lily. I love raspberries, they are one of my favourite fruits and I adore the smell, and I also really like the smell of grapefruit. Amber and wysteria I wasn't so sure about as I can't recall ever trying them, but I really like violet, and lilies are one of my favourite flowers so it sounded pretty well suited to my tastes.
The first warning I should give you is that this perfume is incredibly strong! I was expecting it to be strong with it being an eau de parfam rather than an eau de toilette, but this really is something else! With my other perfumes, I usually give my wrists a couple of sprays, and then apply a squirt behind both my ears. Don't use that amount with this! I found that just one squirt is more than sufficient, and the scent has incredibly staying power and seems to last the whole day long. If you like the scent this is great news as a 100ml bottle truly will last you forever. However sadly I was not so keen.
I was anticipating a very fresh and fruity smell, but I didn't get that at all. I couldn't pick out any notes of raspberries, violet, grapefruit or lilies, and the overwhelming scent was just a very overpowering musty amber scent. It really wasn't nice and despite persisting with it to try and get myself to like it, I have found it gives me headaches. The scent is generally just unpleasant and after it gave me a migraine last month I decided to cut my losses and throw it away. This is definitely one you need to try before ordering it, I certainly wish I had.
This perfume is now available at a wide range of stores including La Senza (of course!) Boots, Amazon, Cheapsmells.com, Halfpriceperfumes.com, and Directcosmetics.com, and the RRP for the 100ml bottle is £20 which is great value considering most perfumes cost more than that for just 30ml. If you love the scent then you'll be pleased to hear it is also available as a purse spray and a body wash. It is a really cheap perfume but it's only a bargain if you actually like it enough to wear it frequently. Not one for me I'm afraid.
Of late I have been spoiling myself a little (ok a lot but who cares apart from my bank lol) however this was a real bargain! The usual price of this is £20.00 a bottle and I purchased it for about £6.00 reduced in Boots along with the other fragrance in this range 'Discover Me'. I could have bought the purse size tube of this which was about 20ml of perfume for £3.50ish (usual price about £10.00) but knowing I'm rather heavy handed on my perfumes I decided bigger was better and this worked out in the long run more economical...providing I liked it lol.
The bottle comes in a sort of oval shaped light pink box. The top lifts off and is separated from the base by a band of gold colour. On the front of it I'm told it is 'Undiscovered' By La Senza and on the base I'm told again what it is and who it's by, the size is stated as are the ingredients and Im given contact details for La Senza. It's a very nice sturdy box and usually I throw boxes away but this I like so much as it's so simple and posh looking in an understated way I display mine lol. The bottle is clear glass and a sort of roundish shape with a very, very light pink metalic lid over a push button sprayer and in gold writing, again, I'm told it is La Senza Undiscovered. All round it's a very ladylike but modern looking product and that's what sparked my interest when I first spotted it.
Like 'Discovered' (the other perfume in this range) this is really unusual. It's a blend of raspberry and pink grapefruit, warm amber, violets, wisteria and lilies and a contains a concoction of aphrodisiac enhancing herbs. Now just because it contains fruit essences don't go thinking this is a fruity little number because it isn't. The raspberry and grapefruit simply add a bit of sweetness and a bit of a punch to it but not in a zesty in your face way. No. To me this is an amber perfume that is quite musky and the lillies and violets waft over as sort of top notes. It's multi faceted and although quite a strong aroma it remains very light but because it's strong a few sprays of this on your skin will last all day.
To me this is a really wonderful fragrance. Very modern and for me as a woman in her mid thirties it just feels right to wear it. It has a maturity to it but it's fun and flirty at the same time and when I got in my bfs car wearing this he did say I smelt great. It seems to get the men going so God knows what herbs are involved in this lol.
There's just something very seductive about it and personally I just feel very sexy and confident when wearing it and I've never known anyone else to wear this fragrance so I feel unique too! It's best worn naked I reckon...I love it and I advise a sniff ladies though do be aware it is a rather strong and long lasting fragrance.
I purchased my bottle in Boots but it's also on sale in La Senza shops and do look about for this online though for some reason everywhere I have looked for this online has sold out!
