      A lovely sweet scent

      Description

'Joy of Pink is the vibrant new fragrance for women from LACOSTE; an exhilarating scent inspired by the lively exoticism of a Curaçao cocktail: colourful, sparkling and full of energy. Featuring effervescent citrus notes underpinned by a smooth musky base.'

This is my perfume of choice for spring and summer despite the poor weather we are having this year. My husband decided to buy this for me for my birthday last year as I had liked others in the Lacoste range, and so it was a safe option for him. It comes in a simple yet inviting glass frosted bottle, which is thin and really just like the rest of the perfumes in the range. There is nothing to make it stand out on your dressing table, but it looks pretty enough sitting there. I would say this scent is aimed at the younger end of the market, but anyone that likes a sweet fruity scent could equally enjoy it. The bottle also looks like it is aimed at a younger person in my opinion.

      My opinion

I prefer the first notes of the perfume as they are more sweet and fresh. What I love is it is not overly sickly, the first snazzy of grapefruit begins to fade a little as the rest of the notes kick in which stops it from being over the top. The middle notes are still sweet but the floral takes a lot of the sweetness away. These kick in after around an hour of wearing the perfume fully, but can start to develop a little earlier at times. This makes it a lot more subtle and suitable for wearing for longer periods, but there is still a real fruity carried throughout which I love. The last notes I am not too keen on as they are musky and I just prefer loud fruity and floral scents. The sweeter notes do trail in and out, but it is definitely more toned down and musky but they are still lovely to wear. I think the difference between the sweetness at the start of the scent, and the way it works down into such a warmer perfume is strange but it is a nice combination. It makes this a little unusual and stands out from other similar fragrances.

I love how this perfume manages to catch your attention within the first half an hour of wearing it, as it almost wakes me up in the morning. It can lift my mood as it is an exciting zingy scent that is really intense at first drawing your attention straight to it. All of the different notes work together well creating a fun exciting smell that work together to make it smell nice rather than cheap. They different tones mix effortlessly so I enjoy the perfume as it develops on my skin. I would say this is better for summertime as it smells so sweet and fresh, and this is not something I could see suited to evening or wear in the colder months. This is the fragrance I wear day to day as it smells amazing, but is not too overpowering to be worn constantly.

The staying power is what I really like about this scent. I can put this on in the morning and the final notes are still drifting around in the afternoon which is great for an EDT. I do like to top it up through the day if I can, as I love the sweetness of the scent once first sprayed. If I apply it in the morning I find it lasts a good five to six hours, which I find on my skin for an EDT this is a long time. I would have liked the first notes to be present a little longer, but really for the price it does well. This has also meant my bottle has lasted extremely well which is always a plus.

I think the name really suits this perfume well as it is a joy to wear. It is a very fruity, floral fragrance that smells absolutely amazing from the moment you put it on, until the second it dies away. The lasting power is fantastic for an EDT and I am yet to find one that lasts longer. The top, middle and bottom scents all work perfectly together and I really could not recommend it more. I do feel that it is a little similar to other lactose perfumes, but this is not a downside for me as I love them all equally. For a 50ml bottle the RRP is around £35 but as this is an older scent you can pick it up from most stores for around £20 which I think is more reasonable. It is a reasonable price but the scent seems more expensive while still being young and exciting. I love it!

        Like it!

Having smelt Lacoste Joy of Pink several times in Boots, it had been on my 'to-buy' list for some time, yet being a poor student at the time I couldn't really afford to splash out on a perfume. So imagine my delight when my sister bought me this perfume for Christmas.

Lacoste Joy of Pink is available in various sized bottles: 30ml (£19.23), 50ml (£19.99 Amazon) and 90ml (£32.00, Amazon). Lacoste is available from Boots, Superdrug as well as online at places such as www.amazon.co.uk

        Top notes: Grapefruit
        Middle notes: Peony & curacao
Bottom notes: Musk & Virgina Cedar

The bottle is very attractive; a lovely bright pink glass bottle which really stands out on my dressing table. You can see through the bottle which is good as you can see how much perfume is left in it.

The perfume smells lovely. It's very light and fresh; I can smell a citrus scent along with a light florally one. I don't really like the smell of grapefruits and yet whilst this is the top note in the perfume, I can't actually smell grapefruits, just a general citrus scent in generally. The musk part of the perfume isn't that strong either. There is also a slight sweetness to it. It has a lovely young and feminine fell to it. It's very refreshing and there is also something quite 'energetic' about it. I feel happy and positive when I wear this perfume as there is something really 'uplifting' and 'inspiring' about it.

It's very summery and when I wear it, it reminds me of summer. It is a great everyday perfume, especially during the summer. I also think that it works well for casual evenings; e.g. summer evenings at a barbeque or at the pub. It's a very likeable scent and isn't too strong and so I don't think that it is the kind of scent which will get on people's nerves.

As for staying power, it doesn't stay on that long which is a shame. It probably lasts a couple of hours and then it disappears. So you do have to keep reapplying it throughout the day which is a bit of a pain.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this perfume!

        Thanks for reading!

        Fun and feminine

Fun, feminine and colourful, Lacoste's "Touch Of Pink" EDT is a lovely perfume for any collection to include. Presented in a lovely bright pink tall glass bottle it looks girly and fun and the fragrance itself continues on that fun feel.

The perfume is sold by Boots for around £25 for a 30 ml EDT bottle which is very reasonable price for a Lacoste perfume and can also be purchased as part of a variety of gift sets that include body wash and body cream. The 30 ml EDT bottle lasted me around 3 - 4 months with everyday use so is great value for money in that respect. I love the bottle design which is girly with the pink bottle but is nice and simple and classy. There is a nice clear glass top to the bottle.

The perfume itself has top notes of violet and jasmine adding an oriental floral tone to the whole perfume which is light and delicate. Then the base tones of musk, vanilla and sandalwood add depth to the fragrance and come through the floral tones to create a lovely daytime fragrance. The most prominent tones are the musk and jasmine which is one of my favourite combinations in perfume as the go together so well and I have noticed that a lot of my favourite fragrances combine both of these. With the 'Touch of Pink' the scent of Violet also comes through lightly giving the fragrance a more oriental feel. I can't say I could pick up on any of the vanilla notes, but vanilla is not one of my favourites so I was quite glad.

The perfume is not strong or overpowering when first applied but remains delicate from the off. The fragrance lasts around 4-5 hours and gradually fades away so I did find I was re-applying mid-afternoon to make the most of the perfume. If combined with the Touch of Pink Body Wash and/or Body Crème then the fragrance then easily lasts all day.
The 'Touch of Pink' is a lovely feminine light perfume that really embarrasses it's fun side.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        I still love it!

For as long as I can remember, my all-time favourite perfume was Lacoste Touch of Pink. When Love of Pink came out, I adored that as well. So when Joy of Pink came out, I had to try it!

Joy of Pink comes in an almost identical glass bottle to Touch of Pink. In fact, pretty much the only difference is the slightly more grown-up font of the name. The bottle is the same shape, just as pink and pretty much just the same. This doesn't bother me as I have always found the packaging very girly and attractive anyway, but it would be easy to confuse the two if you weren't paying attention.

Joy of Pink retails slightly cheaper than it's companions, at around £25 for 30ml, £30 for 50ml, and £40 for 90ml. If you hunt around you can probably find it much cheaper!

The scent is definitely heavier and muskier than Touch of Pink / Love of Pink. It is stated as being more exotic, and it is definitely that.

        The scent's notes:

Musk, cedar wood, blue curaco, peony and grapefruit

For me, the scent was much muskier as previously mentioned, and thus probably suited to a wider age range. It is a strong scent that is as strong when you first spray it as it is when it's settled (unlike many perfumes). The grapefruit and musk definitely stand out the most.

The perfume has great staying power, so you could probably use it as a day or night fragrance. I can usually still smell it even after 5 hours wear, it really is a good strong scent.

For me, it is just not feminine enough - it is a bit too fruity rather than floral and sweet like Touch of Pink, and it is also a bit too musky. I do like the scent and I do wear it, but Touch of Pink wins hands down.

Fantastic smell, definetly would buy it for a friend or two

By far one of my favourite perfumes. Ive tried the other touch of pink's and this one is the best by far. you can usually pick it up quite cheap when your on holiday, duty free. Sometimes boots have it on offer. A little spray goes along way. I love the style of the bottle, its not too much, but not too little. It fits perfectly in my handbag and it goes everywhere with me. Best of all my boyfriend loves me wearing it. The smell isnt too sweet and dosnt get up your nose too much! I've also tried the shower gel that comes in the lacoste gift set. I dont think it smells nothing like the perfume and just gave it to a better home. I always get compliments while wearing this perfume, to much dislike of the boyfriend. Overall, its a must by. Perfect for birthday/christmas presents for teens/adults.

Perfect birthday or xmas gift, cheep and long lasting

This has got to be one of my favourite perfumes, I have had about 3 bottles of this over recent years. It got a really nice long lasting smell which is very summery and fresh. You can buy it from most perfume shop such as boots and perfume shop etc and it is relitively a good price depending on the size that you want and is available in both a box set with matching body lotion so it could be a perefct birthday or christmas gift or you can also buy it individually in a range of volumes. Its a really girl fragrance and as the name suggests it comes in a bright pink stylishly shaped bottle. I've used other lacostte perfumes in the past and this is by far the best I have used, you only have to use a little bit for a strong long last smell so it lasts you for a while. I would definatly recommend this perfume and another thing that I like is that I know that when I run out I am garenteed to be able to get hold of a new one from most stores.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

If you liked 'Touch of Pink' then you'll LOVE this!

I have previously tried the Lacoste Touch of Pink perfume after it was widely advertised on its release but I wasn't really that impressed with it. For that reason I wouldn't have been likely to buy this 'Joy of Pink' perfume myself, but I actually received it as a gift.

The bottle is almost identical to the 'Touch of Pink' bottle - same Pink colour, same Shape and everything. While I like the Pinkness of the bottle, I think it probably would have been wiser for Lacoste to introduce a new bottle design along with the new fragrance to set it aside from their previous scent. But never mind, it's the scent itself that is most important I suppose.

This fragrance is inspired by a Curacao Cocktaail which sounds Glamorous enough in itself! The Scent is meant to be exhilarating and exotic (just like the cocktail!). The perfume consists of Cedar Wood, Musk, Grapefruit, Blue Curacao and Peony notes. For me, it is the Grapefruit smell that comes across the most and makes it really nice.

It is a very sweet perfumeiked so if that isn't ypur type of Fragrance then this one won't be for you. I personally liked it and it made me feel very Fresh. I think it is a great improvement on the 'Touch of Pink' scent which was nothing special. Even the staying power of this perfume is better and lingers all day unlike the 'Touch of Pink' perfume which is very faint.

Lacoste Joy of Pink is available in 30ml bottles for around £25 and 50ml bottles for around £30.

        Disadvantages

        .

I got a bottle of this for my Christmas. I had never used it before but had heard it was a nice scent. I get a lot of perfumes for presents as I like to keep trying new ones, so i'm quite an easy person to buy for. Also it saves me money so that is good.

After looking online to see how much the 50ml bottle generally costs I see it is around the £24-£27 mark, which does seem quite pricy, but is quite average in the world of designer Perfume scents.

The bottle looks like the Dooyoo picture. The pink colour is quite bright, but it is alright. There is a slight shape to this bottle, but not too much shape. Although it appears to be a sort of chunky shaped bottle it is still easy enough to hold.

So how does this smell? It is a nice scent with a few different notes in it. The notes that are in here are Cedar Woods, Peony, Blue Curacao and Grapefruit. So the Grapefruit adds that bit zest to it and is quite tangy. The Peony is a medium kind of scent and the Cedar Woods is that bit teak-y scented and a bit earthy in my view.

After spraying this first thing and it drying on my skin it lost the sort of harsh chemical type of scent and settled into a nice fragrance. I didn't find this a faint scent, but I felt that I wanted to spray 3 squirts of this on my wrists to get stronger scent. I could still smell this faintly around lunchtime, but felt the need to reapply this as it wasn't all that strong smelling.

I'm still in the middle of using this bottle up, and although it is a nice enough scent I don't feel that I will buy this when it is finished. It's not that there is anything wrong with this scent, it is actually quite nice, but the scents that are in here aren't generally the scents of my favourite Perfumes or that, so I can say that i've tried it, it is nice but not quite for me.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Lovely citrus fragrance with a sensual, musky underone.

I received a sample of Lacoste's newest fragrance in the 'Pink' range just before Christmas, and as soon as I sampled it i was completely hooked! I adore this fragrance to the point that in all likelyhood it will be adopted as my new 'signature'.

        The Scent...

It is very similar in many ways to it's predecesors in the 'pink' range. However it is definately more 'edgy' with a stronger, more potent presence. It's citrus notes give it a girly and flirtatious energy, whilst the musky undertones which remain after the initial 'zing' has faded, make it sexy and sensual enough to wear as an evening fragrance. I would describe this as a 'naughty but nice' fragrance because it mixes lighthearted fruity tones, with more sensual, seductive ones.

        The Bottle...

The bottle comes in three sizes: 30ml, 50ml, 90ml. But i find that a little goes a long way with this quite potent fragrance, so decided to go for the 30ml on my first trial.
Aesthetically, the bottle matches the scent. The bright, extravagant pink at the top of the bottle, merges into a more seductive deep pink by the bottom...directly reflecting the sense that the fragrance denotes.
The name of the fragrance and the Lacoste logo are printed on the front of the bottle in white font.
Ergonomically, the bottle is also quite pleasing, being slender enough to fit in one's hand so that the frgrance can be directed where desired, with accuracy. Furthermore, the smoothed prism shape of the bottle makes it easy to grasp and maintain grip.

        Who is it aimed at?...

In my opinion, the bottle is aimed at women around my age (22). The fruity, flirty and extravagant tones might be off putting to anyone over about thirty five, and the seductive undertones may be a bit grown up for anyone under 18.

Regardless of this, i would certainly reccommend everyone to get a sample of Lacoste: Joy of Pink, because I think it is wonderful!

I will be wearing it everyday

One of my lovely xmas presents this year, Joy of Pink is part of the Lacoste Pink series. I have owned touch of pink, love of pink and now this new version.

It comes in the same see through pink bottle as before, with the Lacoste brand of a crocodile. The box is a bit different with luminous pink writing on a pink and white box.

The perfume itself isnt too different in smell from the others. Its a bit harsher and will be better as an evening perfume as its quite strong. Its fruity, and based on Curacao. Its a really fresh scent and definately wakes you up a bit when you put it on.

I got the 30ml bottle but you can also get 50ml and 90ml and as part of a gift set with shower gel. The 30ml bottle is a good size that you can also fit in your handbag, I always carry perfume with me.

I would say its quite a young smell, and quite a girly scent. If you liked the others in the series then give this one a go, it lasts all day just from a few sprays and on a night out if you apply a bit more then it will definately last all night.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Its not top end of the market perfume but it's a pleasant gift and worth the money it costs.

          The rewards of Guilt!
I was lucky enough to be given this at the end of November, as a very late Birthday gift. (My Birthday was in May) I think my Brother in Law might have been over compensating a bit because he usually gives me a very uninspiring box of Maltesers. Having been given this lovely gift, I'm hoping that he will forget again next year and we'll see what gift the power of guilt can extricate from him then! I think this product is probably aimed at a younger demographic than I belong to but I don't mind if my BIL thinks I'm younger than I am!
Lacoste have brought out a number of perfumes in the Pink range and this is a variation on their theme. They are widely available in department stores and perfumeries. Amazon have them for sale at the moment at around £27.00 but that is not the cheapest place to purchase this set. As the EDT was part of a set I will review that first then add some thoughts about the rest of the set.

          Smelling Pink!
I do like the smell of this Eau de Toilette, at first I thought it smelt a bit harsh and artificial and as it dries on my skin it felt a bit flowery for me and a little too sweet. Fortunately as the first tones subside it is possible to smell a lovely spicy woody fragrance that I really enjoy. That's the smell which endures and it balances the sweetness nicely. The perfume lasts for about an hour and then it's possible to get little whiffs of it now and again. It is a medium strength perfume which isn't overpowering and doesn't make you gag in lifts, when someone has bathed in it. (Don't you just hate that?)
The bottom line for me is that the perfume is an interesting mix of floweriness and woodiness, but in order to be a bit more helpful I looked up what the experts said about it. Which was...

"Heart Cedar Woods, musky notes. Top notes Grapefruit. Base notes Blue Curacao, Peony"
I can smell the pleasant woodiness and the 'Peony' floweriness, but the 'Grapefruit' scent doesn't smell like any grapefruit I've ever eaten! It is certainly a sharp citrussy smell but it doesn't ring true to me. My guess is that it is an artificially constructed perfume but I am not an expert. (Unlike some of the amazing perfume reviewers on here) I am a bit dubious about the 'Blue Curacao' too. I have a feeling that that description is advertising speak for alcohol. There is a very faint muskiness. I would have liked that element to be a bit stronger.
Having said all that, at around £25.00 it would be ridiculous to expect pure essences with no help from the chemical industry. As a middle of the road scent it is good enough.

I use it as a light day scent but use a more classical perfume for an evening out. I find that the scent doesn't taint my clothes like some stronger perfumes do and this is a bonus.

The bottle is a pretty glass one which is shaded in tones of pink which grow darker towards the top. It isn't a perfect cylinder and the indented shape makes it comfortable to hold and unlikely to slip from my grasp'
The spray nozzle works well and doesnt clog. It delivers a comfortable amount of scent easily. The clear lid clips on fairly tightly and prevents evaporation.

A few comments about what came with the EDT.
The shower gel is contained in a plastic bottle with the Pink Logo written across it. I was glad to see that it is one of those bottles that stands on it's top to make it easier to squeeze out. It's a flip up top which is much better to handle in the shower than a screw top. The gel is pink, fairly thick and foams up nicely. It rinses off easily and doesn't leave my skin feeling dried out as some perfumed shower gels can. It doesn't smell as sweet as the EDT, more spicy, and the smell lingers in the bathroom which is nice. I use a shower puff to apply it and this makes a little go a long way.
The Body Lotion is in a bottle very similar to the shower gel. The lotion is easily absorbed and doesn't leave a greasy residue, just a faint sheen on my skin. The squeezy tube means that there will not be much wasted.
It's a nice set. It won't 'set' the world on fire but it was a very acceptable and generous present. It is on special offer in Boots at the moment for £25.00 and a hundred extra Boots points. As the EDT retails at about £25.00 on its own this is a pretty good deal! It looks nice and is well presented so if you give this as a gift you will accrue a lot of Brownie Points along with the Boots points.

A delightful new scent from Lacoste

Times are hard for most of us and I for one am pulling my belt in extra hard, but from time to time I can't help but splash out on something purely on impulse. I had a tester of Lacoste Joy of Pink thrust in my hand on my way out of Debenhams recently and I adored it so much, I simply had to go back the next day and treat myself. Lets hops hubs doesn't read this!

Lacoste Joy of pink is the latest addition to the Lacoste Pink range. It comes in a graduating hot pink glass bottle that slims in at the sides so it feels very comfortable in your hand and it is easy to spray without it slipping through. It is finished at the top by a thick silver rim and a silver coloured spray dispenser. It has a chunky pink plastic lid which I think makes it look funky and very on trend to a young consumer.

When you smell this scent directly from a tester stick of piece of sample paper, it really is not all that pleasant - there is an overwhelming aroma of what I can only describe as grapefruit that it quite acrid almost makes your eyes water, however once it is applied to your skin, the scent takes on a whole different life. The initial scent is floral, exotic and slightly sweet whilst being fresh, uplifting and enlivening. It is a heavy scent which lasts for up to probably half an hour, after which the initial top notes fade and you are left with a less overpowering scent which continues to be feminine and floral, but also has a sophisticated cedar wood musk about it. I think that it is simply delightful and I love it - there is nothing strong and heavy about it at all and it is not the kind of perfume that is going to give you a headache if you wear it all of the time or if you are stuck in a small office with someone who is wearing it.

I think that this is a very easy scent to wear. I would say that it is possibly directed more towards the younger market with the packaging and the scent is fresh, young and very simple. I wear this during the day for work and also at night if I am going out and it blends in wherever suiting each occasion perfectly. I think that it is ideal for winter and all of the Christmas parties that are on the horizon, but I equally believe that it will float into summer with ease. This perfume also has a long lasting fragrance - I applied it in the morning and late in the afternoon, long after I thought the scent had faded away someone asked me what it was and complimented me on it which is always nice and gives you a slight confidence boost!

Lacoste Joy of Pink is widely available on the high street in chemists and department stores and also on the internet. I got mine from Debenhams where it is currently on offer for £25 for 30ml and you get a free shower gel and body lotion with it in the same fragrance which would make a lovely Christmas present. It also comes in a larger 50ml bottle for around £35, so go on, treat yourself!
