Advantages: price, some aspects of the scent

Disadvantages: staying power

I had smelt the original Lacoste touch of pink perfume and thought it was quite a nice fragrance so when I saw that Lacoste were offering a free sample of the new Lacoste love of pink fragrance I applied and was delighted when I saw that mysample towlette had arrived in the post attached to a post card.

Packaging

The perfume comes in a very similar packaging to the original Touch of Pink perfume. It comes in a long, sleek glass bottle which is tinted pink. The traditional Lacoste logo is on the top of the bottle with "Love of pink" written vertically up the middle of the bottle.

Scent

After browsing online I have found a description of what the perfume is intended to smell like: "Love of Pink is the complete expression of femininity and romantic vitality. With a delightful sent which builds on the emotion and character of Touch of Pink, Love of Pink is a girl s perfect companion towards experiencing the feeling of love. Combining a touch of blood orange and the fresh sparkle of Lemon Peel, followed by a sensuous, feminine touch of Pink Magnolia, Quince Flower and Stephanotis, the feminine energy it exudes is prolonged by a refined dry-down of Cedarwood. It is finally completed by a dreamy, lingering kiss of vanilla, making it a captivating elixir of love"

So do I agree with this?

When I first wiped the towlette onto my wrists I have to say I was not impressed, it was quite strong and overpowering, it was definatly not a subtle fragrance. I actually found it to smell quite cheap.

However I have now been wearing the perfume for about 20 minutes and it has certainly changed. It is now a blend of floral elements and vanilla. The vanilla accompanies the floral elements very well and to me is the most obvious scent.

I have to say I could not really smell any of the citrus elements to this perfume to begin with, this could be just the way the perfume developed on my skin as every body is different. Afer a couple of hours I noticed the perfume had become quite tangy but shortly afterwards the perfume seemed to fade away and was not really noticeable.

I completely agree that this is a girly, flirty and romantic fragrance and after around half an hour it changed from the initial overpowering scent and became quite light.

So who is this pefume suited for? Well, in my opinion this is more of a perfume that is suited for younger women due to its sweet and tangy scent.

As I sit here smelling my wrists I am thinking when would be the best time to wear this perfume, and I would say that this is more of a daytime fragrance. The notes of vanilla make it quite subtle but enough to make people recognise that you have a wonderful scent.

Personally I do not think that I would buy this perfume for myself. Don't get me wrong it is a lovely scent but it is not really the style of perfume that I would generally go for.

Price

This is an absolute bargain of a perfume, a 30ml bottle can be purchased from Debenhams for £22.50. Considering the prices of other designer perfumes that are on the market I think this is not a bad price at all.

Conclusion

If you like your perfumes to be flirty and girly then this is a nice perfume. I tend to like these sorts of perfumes but for some reason possible the tangy citrus elements this just didn't tick the right boxes for me. I think the free sample offer is still on so if you want to try it for yourself just apply. I would rate this 7 out of 10.
