Advantages: The scent is nice.

Disadvantages: Heavy at first. Doesn't seem to last all that long.

Quite a while back I requested a sample of this perfume and immediately fell in love with the scent on the cardboard sample that arrived shortly afterwards. I'm not really big perfume user but I do like to have one available to wear when I go out and persuaded my Mum to get me a bottle for my birthday.

THE SCENT

The top notes are: Blood Orange, Lemon Peel
The heart notes are: Pink Magnolia, Quince Flower, Stephanotis
The base notes are: Cedarwood, Vanilla

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Whenever I first spray this perfume, I'm usually taken aback by how strong it smells at first, to the point where I now only spray it once (or twice at a push). When I spray it on my wrists I can detect a strong citrus (the lemon peel maybe?) smell combined with a sweet smell that I can't quite pinpoint but when it's sprayed onto my neck, it's the sweet smell that dominates.

STAYING POWER
The initial strong smell dies down quite quickly on me and I only get a whiff of something sweet every now and again after that, which I'm assuming is the vanilla. If I'm being completely blunt, it's not that dissimilar to a body spray for the first hour or so. I've been using an Impulse spray this week and notice quite strong whiffs of that on a seemingly random basis and this is very much the same in that after about half an hour, I can barely smell it and it's only being able to smell it here and there that reminds that I'm wearing it at all. I find that quite disappointing compared to a Body Shop scent that I often wear, which is much lighter than this and yet seems to have better staying power.

PRICE
My Mum initially wanted to get me the eau de parfum but she was struggling to find it anywhere for a reasonable price and got me this eau de toilette version instead. I believe that she paid around £22 for it but having had a quick search around it seems that you can now get it from around £16 for the 30ml bottle depending on where you shop for it.

OVERALL VERDICT
If you're not a fan of scents that smell overly sweet, this probably isn't going to be your thing as that's what comes across mostly strongly for me. Despite being much heavier than my Body Shop scent especially at first, I find it to be very much a daytime scent as once the strong smell dies down, it doesn't have all that much staying power on me and not enough to last for a whole evening.

Summary: It smells lovely but doesn't last long enough for me.
