Lacoste usually produce fragrances that have a distinctive smell and ones that are definitely unique and not like many others - they have succeeded again and this fragrance is very much a unique smell. It was first released in 2002 and since then I have bought it three times. This is unusual for me, as I like to try new after shaves as often as possible, but I keep getting drawn back to this.

The good thing about it being a bit older is that you can usually pick it up for a good reasonable price. In fact I was walking through my local shopping centre about two weeks ago and saw that House of Fragrance had the small 30 ml bottle on sale for £11.25, which I jumped at. I was glad I did, I have not had this after shave for a while, but was as pleased when I first bought it.

As I mentioned the smell is very distinctive. iI would describe it as 'medium', by which I mean it is not really light, as the smell definitely has lastability, but it is not so strong that it is overwhelming. In saying that, you do not need a lot on for it to last most of the day. I would classify this as a day time fragrance.

The bottle is quite sleek, kind of smokey glass with a silver top. Even though it is smokey glass you can clearly see when the bottle is nearing the end! I have always bought the eau de toilette as I prefer a spray.

I have also owned Lacoste Essential, the green one, which is a lot lighter in tone than this. I prefer this one. Apparently it is made with juniper berrys, but it does not smell like gin!

Have to say I would definitely recommend this! A great smell and great value for money too.
