Advantages: nice colour, elegant bottle, nice smell, distinctive
Disadvantages: musky, mature scent, not very feminine bottle
This was a little miniature I received as part of a lancome perfume gift set. I love the opportunity to try a selection of different scents and lancome is a well established and respected brand so I was excited to try them. This was probably one of the more disappointing fragrance for me, and here is why:
The perfume comes in a glass bottle, essentially rectangular in shape but twisted round to give a very elegant silhouette. The different facets of the bottle catch the light on the reflective glass, creating a very beautiful and elegant effect. The perfume itself is a light pink colour which looks very pretty in the bottle but unfortunately doesn't really stand out amongst my other perfumes.. The bottle has a clear lid and silver metal pump which works exactly as you would expect. Overall I really like the bottle although I find the shape to be a bit lacking in feminine charm - this is in part saved by the colour of the perfume though which does inject a girly quality whilst retaining the sense of luxury.
I found the fragrance relatively pleasant. It is a light scent which has fruity notes with a little added spice. I like the smell of this perfume, although I prefer my perfumes to smell a little fresher and with more floral notes to guarantee a feminine smell. The core notes is pink peppercorns, with undertones of osmanthus flower and overtones of patchouli. Overall the smell is very pretty - it has a decidedly fruity smell to it which is complemented by the rich, musky undertones. I think this is probably a more mature scent - I wouldn't necessarily recommend it as a fun fragrance for under 25s. That said, I do think some younger people would love the smell and some older people would hate it - it just doesn't feel particularly fun and fresh. I think it is probably a slightly more acquired taste than some of the other lancome perfumes I have tried and it just wasn't really to my liking.
In terms of price this is another overpriced lancome fragrance (I think most of them are). At £35.00 for 30ml it is as the top end of perfumes within the designer brand spectrum. I wouldn't fork out £35.00 for it but it is nice to be able to test out a miniature size.
To summarise my thoughts: nice but not to my taste and certainly not for that price!
Summary: Not that scent at that price...for me.
