“ Brand: Lancome / Type: Fragrance / Concentration: Eau de Toilette / Gender: for women „
I have often thought that there would be nothing more opulent than having many different perfumes to choose from, and have begun to amass a collection of (three, ahem) bottles so I can deliberate over which fragrance to wear for each occasion. I chose this fragrance to add to my collection a couple of years ago around Christmas time after walking dazed into a department store and being cornered by the first fragrance sales person whose eye I met.
This eau de parfum spray is presented in a clear glass bottle with pink sides. It is rectangular in shape and has a pinkish/silver lid which lifts on and off easily. The name 'miracle' is written on the glass along with the Lancome Paris logo in white writing, and the 'so magic!' is written in pink. Overall, the design of the bottle is not spectacular but not offensive either. I think this is a bit of a shame as it's always nice to have a lovely bottle to display on your dressing table, and I don't think that Lancome have maximised the potential for packaging, particularly with a name like 'miracle' which could have connotations of Aladdin and the genii and other wonderful, exotic fairy tales!
At £30 for 30 ml of eau de parfum, I felt that this was a reasonably priced fragrance, and asked my mum to buy it for me, without feeling too guilty! It is retailling for a similar price at the moment.
The perfume is a sweet smelling, fresh, floral fragrance. It is very 'upbeat' and vibrant, and is a fusion of two scents: Rose Eglantine and Narcissus, the beauty and the rebel. These two flowers each bring something to the fragrance which together result in the unique scent. The rose is delicate, sweet, innocent and feminine. The narcissus is more alluring and enchanting, and this therefore is said to capture a different side of femininity.
On first application of the perfume, it smells very strongly and almost overpoweringly sweet for my nostrils! However, as time goes on, the scent mutes a little and although still sweet, becomes more oriental and less floral which is what I really like about the fragrance.
This is a lovely fragrance to wear, but suits evening and winter better than summer days as it is just too heavy. In the mornings I find the scent too sweet and overpowering, but in the evening it feels just right. I would recommend this perfume if you like sweet, floral and oriental fragrances, but would always say to try before you buy!
My mum bought me this perfume when she went through the airport on the way to visit me.
I bought my first bottle in Hong Kong airport duty free, I liked it so much I got through it in 4 months, so I asked my mum to buy me another one.
The bottle attracted me, its flat with a big shiny lid and the label So Magic at the top with Lancome written at the bottom. I love pink bottles like The LaCoste touch of pink brand, so I tried this one.
The smell is very girly, fruity but not too flowery. It is quite fresh and really wakes me up in the morning when I put it on. It lastes well for a few hours but then I find it needs reapplying. I put on quite a lot as I love the smell but you could still smell it if you use just a bit everyday.
Its not really strong enough a scent to be an evening perfume, but its a great summery scent for the daytime and reminds me of my time in Australia.
Try this if your a fan of touch of pink by Lacoste or JLo perfumes.
I thought I had come to the end of my perfume reviews when I came across an empty bottle of Lancome Miracle So Magic in an old bag whilst having a spring clean. At first I thought it must not have been mine but then remembered that I bought this on holiday in Tenerife two years ago.
I went into the perfume store in the resort to buy a bottle of Hugo Intense and came out with a bottle of Lancome Miracle So Magic, due to the persistence of the sales guy in the store... I just could not get rid of him and say no. I couldn't even smell the perfume by Lancome he was trying to sell me as the scent of other perfumes in the store was so strong.
The perfume bottle is very plain and the reason I had never even come across this perfume before is probably because the bottle just blended in. The bottle is a transparent pink glass bottle. The bottle a rounded rectangular shape in height and width, depth wise the bottle is about 1cm thick. The bottle lid is a deep pink metallic colour.
The Lancome brand is written in large prominent font on the front of the bottle as is the name of the perfume Miracle So Magic.
I think the perfume bottle really represents the perfume well. It's a plain, slightly pretty, with the brand being the most prominent feature... exactly the same characteristics as the perfume!
The RRP for this product is £28.00 for 30ml. I have seen this available in Boots for £23.00 for 30ml and the fragrance is available online from theperfumeshop.com for £19.95 for 30ml.
This appears cheaper than some perfumes but I don't feel is very good value for money as because the perfume is so weak scent wise you use a lot more perfume. After two weeks of using this perfume I had used almost half of the bottle and I do not feel that I had sprayed excessively.
The official description of the perfume is:
"A delicious, pink, sparkling fresh floral... more than a fragrance, Miracle So Magic! is a true bubble of optimism"
The fragrance is definitely a very light and fresh scent. The floral scent is apparent and I felt a very subtle rose scent but not too floral as I cannot stand really flowery smelling perfumes.
When the perfume is sprayed it is very subtle. This is not a perfume that is at all noticeable, even when up close my boyfriend could not really smell the scent of the perfume on my skin. I'm a fan of quite light subtle smelling fragrances but this is even too light for my preferences.
After two hours I could no longer smell the scent on my scent on my skin.
This is definitely a perfume suited to wear during the day rather than special occasions as it is just so light, for more special occasions this scent would just be invisible.
I don't particularly have a strong dislike towards this perfume by Lancome but I don't particularly have a strong like towards it either. If this was bought as a present it would not be an perfume the other person would hate , it would probably be used in the occasions when you can't really find another perfume and you need something that smells ok quickly. Despite the scent being floral because the overall scent is so weak it still is very fresh and light. The fragrance is priced quite reasonably however because the scent is so light you end up using
****Lancome Miracle So Magic ****
I think its pretty obvious by now that i am a really big perfume fan and when i saw that the Lancome counter in boots had an offer on when you bought two products i decided to treat myself to a couple of new perfumes.(Fine i admit it i wanted them anyway :) )
Lancome are a high quality brand that sell a range of products including perfume, makeup and hair care. They have been in business over 70 years!!!!
There are a few products in the range and these are Miracle forever, miracle and the one i got. You can also get body lotion and shower gel. This is something i don't think i would use everyday but it is nice as a treat.
The packaging for this is a really nice pink shade so it catches your eye. I would describe the bottle as being quite plain. It is a clear rectangle shape with hints of pink down the sides and a pale pink (shiny) round lid. As the bottle is so plain the writing on it sticks out with the name and i think that this is the effect they were going for. The idea being that they don't need a fancy bottle-the perfume speaks for itself.
My first impressions of this perfume is that it is a very sweet girlie scent. I also thought it was going to be overpowering but thankfully this calms down after about 30 minutes-1 hour.
You are then left with a nice scent which smells like narcissus, clover and wild rose.I would say that the wild rose smell is the strongest. Very clean and fresh. This smells nice its just not the best.
I was slightly disappointed with how long the smell lasted. I mean if you smell your wrist you can still make it out but its not that strong(after 3 ½ hours)and this was an eau de parfum. It does say underneath something about it being a vaporisateur-natural spray (does this effect how strong it is).If it does i wish there was an option to buy a stronger version.I would say that this is a daytime perfume as it is not strong enough for night time wear.
**Price/where to buy**
On the official Lancome site prices are as follows:30ml costs £30.50,50ml costs £41.50 and 100 ml costs £58.I have also checked boots and the prices are the same so don't know if these could be picked up much cheaper. I got the middle sized bottle and i would say its a good price especially for lancome as i have paid more for perfumes in their range.
I would recommend this perfume if you like feminine scents or perfumes such as touch of pink. Don't buy it if you like woody smells as this doesn't have that.
