Advantages: Smells delicious
Disadvantages: Not suitable for winter or evenings
What do you get when you cross aromatherapy with the skills of Lancome?s scientific research team? Aromatonic. I first smelt this when I was given a trial size as part of a goodie pack when I bought another Lancome product. It was so delicious that I kept lingering past the Lancome counter on my lunch hour and spraying it on. After the 10th day in a row, I thought I had better buy it before the lady asked me ?So are you going to buy this or what?? I always find fragrance opinions quite difficult, because more than almost any other product, people have different perceptions of what they like. Smell is one of the most subjective senses, but all I can say as evidence of this product is that I have had the most compliments when wearing this. Like all other fragrances, I would recommend you try before you buy, because the smell of the same body spray varies between different people. THE SMELL Aromatonic Body Treatment Fragrance is made up of three key notes: - Osmanthus (exotic and flowery) - Cardamon (spicy and aromatic) - Green mate (extract of Paraguay Island leaves ? grassy with notes of tea). There are also undertones of sweet lime and ginger. The smell reminds me of summer. It is great for when you don?t feel like being overwhelmed by a complex fragrance, because it is so light. USAGE Simply spray on as you would any other body fragrance. You are also recommended to rub it in afterwards, though I never do. On the Lancome website, it says that the Aromatonic range is based on the shiatsu oriental techniques and high energy rubs. It gives diagrams of the human body and shows locations to spray and rub, in order to energise and tone. For example: the 15VC Point (under sternum) or the 8VC Point (2cm under navel). To be honest though, I?m normally running for the bus as I leave for work, so I just spray it on anywhere! Far too rushed to be finding my pressure points! PRICE A 100 ml bottle, or vaporisa
teur as they call it, costs £27.50. Not too expensive if you consider that it does last a long time (I bought mine last July and still have half the bottle left). WHERE TO BUY? You can buy Lancome in most large department stores as well as some Boots stores. On Lancome?s website (www.lancome.co.uk), you can use their store locator feature to find your nearest stockist. Simply type in your postcode and it will give you the details plus a map. CONCLUSION There are two other Aroma ranges from Lancome: Aromafit (supposed to remind you of healthiness and fitness) which I am not keen on and Aromacalm (a more passionate, relaxing smell). All ranges have the body treatment fragrance, as well as massage oil, soap, candle, body lotion, body smoother, shower gel and body scrub. I use Aromacalm in winters and at night-time. It is very sensual and made for spraying before you slip in between the sheets. Tres sexy! In contrast, Aromatonic is for summer days and brings to mind young lovers running through a meadow. I have them both and interchange according to my mood and whether I want to be sensual or have fun! I have only one complaint with this product: the smell doesn?t last very long. This means that you won?t be the person that walks into the room and people can smell it from the other side. But it also means that you might have to top up occasionally. For this reason, I?ve deducted a point for not being long-lasting or powerful enough. To be fair on it, it is a body spray not a perfume and perhaps I?m expecting too much. Fun, funky and refreshing ? this fragrance is suitably energising.
