After Christmas I bought a set of miniature Lancome perfumes in the Boots sale. This review will discuss my experience with the Miracle fragrance.
Lancome Miracle comes in a simple clear bottle with a silver lid. The perfume inside is pink which adds to the feminine impression of the fragrance.
This perfume is described as a "vibrant, sparkling fragrance" with fresh, dewy notes of lychee and freesia. The heart notes are magnolia, jasmine, ginger and pepper and the base notes are amber and musk.
When I first smelled this perfume on my skin I thought it smelled like a fresh, summery fragrance. I don't know what lychee and freesia are meant to smell like specifically, but the impression was of a light, slightly citrusy fragrance with an element of floral. There was a spicy undertone which I assume was the ginger coming out. It wasn't my favourite scent, but it was pleasant and cheering.
Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to see how the perfume developed over time. This is because it hardly lasted on my skin at all. About four hours was all that it could manage. This is disappointing for such a pricey perfume. It is less time than Body Shop perfumes last and they are much much cheaper.
***Price and Availability***
This eau de parfum is available in the following sizes:
30ml - £36
50ml - £52
100ml - £72
It is widely available at Boots and other department stores that stock Lancome. Other variations on Miracle are available, including Miracle So Magic!
This perfume smells pleasant but isn't amazing. The presence of ginger in such a light perfume adds an interesting twist. However, the rather disappointing longevity of the perfume considering the price is disappointing and therefore this perfume isn't one I'd rush out and buy.
This is a perfume I received as a miniature in a set of lancome fragrances. This is probably my least favourite of the set based on smell, appearance and price.
The perfume comes in a rectangular glass bottle with a silver metal pump and lid. The perfume itself is a bright pink colour and the bottle has miracle and the brand name across it in silver lettering. The appearance of the bottle, for me, is decidedly uninteresting and just a little bit outdated I think. There is nothing about the bottle that strikes me as interesting or fun other than the colour, which frankly, I actually find a little insipid. That bright pink, although standing out amongst other perfumes (and probably for the wrong reason), is a little unforgiving and in comparison to a more subtly colour just looks a little garish and cheap. The appearance of the perfume has very little of the trademark lancome elegance and luxury which I heavily associate with the brand. I do believe this is one of their older fragrances and obviously a favourite if they are still selling it but personally it just struck me as a little boring to look at.
The scent is pleasant, but not particularly new or exciting. I prefer a fragrances which combines feminine floral smells with a fresh classic scent that seems both young and timeless (not a hard task!). Given the prestige of the brand my expectations were high, and honestly I felt a little let down by a brand that espouses quality. The perfume is described as 'vibrant' and 'fresh', neither of which I felt it was and you can understand why when you read the list of notes. Core notes of lychee and freesia are combined with undertones of magnolia, jasmine, ginger and bourbon pepper and overtones of musk and amber. The overall effect is not particularly fresh, it is fruity with a musky spiced base. It isn't unpleasant, but it isn't exciting either.
I think the price is probably the biggest let down of all. At £36.00 for 30ml this product is at the higher end of designer brand fragrances. For a perfume that feels a little outdated in terms of both smell and design I find this particularly disappointing - am I just paying for the name?
I think my personal rating would have to be 2 stars, but I am giving this perfume 3 because I understand how subjective smell can be. I think 2 stars would be suggesting the product is inherently unpleasant, which it isn't, or is ineffective as a perfume, which it isn't. It is a perfectly fine perfume that is certainly not to my taste and not exciting enough.
I've been using this fragrance for a few years now, and it's very different to anything else i've ever used.
I would describe Lancome Miracle as unique and definately gorgeous!
I always have comments like "What is that you're wearing?", "That smells lovely!" Etc.
The bottle is very simple, and slim, i've often carried a 30ml bottle in my handbag and it doesn't take up much room.....sometimes i've got to rummage for it!
It is a floral based scent, but it's got hints of musk scents too which are very sensuous!
I would reccomend this fragrance for any age group, however, it's not a young fragrance that a teenager would use......it's a little more grown up - womanly fragrance.
The first time I smelled it, I was addicted, i've never come across anything remotely similar to it, and i've never come across anyone else that uses it, so it's nice that I feel like I have a unique fragrance!
Overall, I give Lancome Miracle a 10 out of 10!
Lancome is a worldwide beauty brand founded by Armand Petitjean. It is now under the ownership of L'Oreal. 2010 brings the 75th anniversary of the brand which currently offers an extensive range of skincare, body care, perfume and makeup products.
In 1935, Lancome released its first five fragrances with several more being released throughout the decades. There are many choices for men and women. Ranges include Hypnose, Tresor and Poeme to name a few.
Miracle was released in the early 2000s. It is available in an Eau de Parfum and matching products such as shower gels and body lotions can be purchased to layer up the scent.
The original Miracle is described as opening up to the scent of a new day due to its fresh and vibrant notes. Other variations of the original include Miracle So Magic! and Miracle Forever.
The simplistic design of the Miracle bottle keeps intone with other Lancome designs. The bottle is thick glass which is rectangular with curved edges and completed with a silver top. The glass is clear and confidently shows off the baby pink liquid contained within.
As with other perfumes, Miracle has been created using a blend of fragrances notes. The notes are blended together in stages to created a gradual and changing scent on the skin.
*Top notes are those that open up the perfume. Miracle treats us to the appearance of lychee and fressia.
*Heart notes create the body of the perfume and can last several hours. We are offered magnolia blended with Bourbon pepper and ginger.
*Base notes finish off the perfume and leave the final trace on the skin. Absolute jasmine, musk and amber finishes off the Miracle.

I love Lancome but mainly for their make up. They are high quality but so they should be considering the price tag that is applied to their goodies. Lancome is one of my best sellers when I have it in stock for ebay purposes and is certainly well known and appreciated by young and older generations.
I was given a small, dab bottle of Miracle in a gift set early this year. I have such a huge collection of perfumes so this little bottle got kept aside until recently. The bottle doesn't inspire but its practical and the with the liquid being a delicate pink, it adds that extra something to turn an almost plain bottle to a feminine yet simple design.
The opening scent is quite intense and a quick dab on the wrist and around my neck is sufficient for optimum coverage. The freshness is evident and delightful. It widens my scent senses to new experiences and actually makes me feel more alert and brighter. Ideal for these cold winter mornings that have been put upon us. The fressia is most prominent and gives a clean and inviting edge to the slightly fruity undertone. It is all rather juicy and delectable.
After a few moment, the heart of Miracle makes its appearance and is quite unusual. The floral note of magnolia is creamy and light and nothing like something M&S would sell! The heart is quite spicy and rather tangy. It certainly packs a punch and is feminine and sends out a sophisticated and confident message to those who pass by. The spicy tone certainly adds something special and stops Miracle from overloading my senses with the floral magnolia.
The heart of Miracle treats my nose and skin for around 4hours and remains consistency and beautiful for that time. The base notes gradually seep through and combine with the spiciness of the heart for an uplifting yet delicate combination. They come through smoothly and once they split from the heart, they create a warm and pleasurable aroma.
Lancome have created a base which is well balanced and a bit different from the norm. Fair enough, amber and musk are in there but the inclusion of jasmine adds a little twist. The amber warms up the perfume perfectly and stops the musk from becoming old fashioned or unpleasant. The jasmine is quite subtle and adds a pleasant lightness to the overall base.
The jasmine twist keeps Miracle light for around an hour before the amber and musk take over and remain steady and quite creamy for several hours. It is a little bit powdery and I feel this is what keeps the scent going for most of the day.
Miracle is an ultra feminine perfume which doesn't overpower but does omit confident vibes. I would personally say it is ideal for the women who needs a little confidence boots and would suit young and more mature women. It is light enough for day time use and would suit most occasions.
The price for Lancome Miracle is suprisingly low and the git sets are a steal. The length of time the perfume graces the skin is impressive and its such a versatile and feminine scent so would suit most as a gift or a treat for oneself.
Oh yes! Although the main focus is on fresh florals, Miracle is uplifting and makes me feel more confident in myself which is ideal when I feel crappy. It lasts well and is priced well so I would buy this again if I could get it on offer after Christmas.
Thanks for reading!
- Falling in love with the Miracle -
The first perfume that I bought with my own working money is Lancome's Miracle. The fragrant came across to me to be very zesty, like a bunch of fresh flowers bursting over my face. Perfect for a stroll out in spring and summer. The scent possesses a blend of fresh and spicy florals, with lower notes of amber and jasmine.
After applying perfume to my pulse points (I usually just put some on my wrists and on the back of my ear lobes... but you can also put at the base of your throat, bend in your elbows and between your breasts), which you do not need much, I find myself filled with Miracle's flowery scent, but not over empowering that you feel like being choked in it.
The fragrance last me about 4-5 hours, which for me, is long enough for a day or night out.
- Searching for the perfect one -
After Miracle, I played around with other fragrances and bought another flower scented perfume, Estee Lauder's Pleasure. While Pleasure's fragrance was quite delightful, it does not last as long as Miracle and turned sour after a few hours.
Along the way, I experienced with different fragrances and found myself having a lot of perfume bottles with me. Life experience taught me to be more frugal, and I stopped buying perfumes and went back to all the old perfume bottles that I kept... to finish them up.
But it wasn't easy to find a perfume that still smells as good as you first buy them. Most of them oxidize when not kept correctly. But Lancome's Miracle still smelled good although not as fresh as I first bought it. It did not turn sour at all, compared to my bottle of Pleasure. (can't compare to the others because they were woody, musky or fruity kind of perfume)
- Back to my first love -
I personally think that Miracle is suitable for both day and night time, despite it being flowery, and more suited towards younger women. And because it lasts long, I feel that Miracle is really value for money.
Now that I've finished my miracle bottle... I am off to get more.
Lancôme: Miracle, Eau de Parfum
With my left over Christmas pennies in hand I was ready and anxious to head out into the chaos that is the January sales. I wanted to stock up on perfumes and beauty products with the hope of grabbing myself quite a few bargains. I've had quite a few bottles of this one now; I think I was given my first as a birthday gift from some university friend's well over 6 years ago. Since then whenever it runs out and money allowing I have went out and purchased a new one.
The fresh floral fragrance of Lancome's miracle has top notes of freesia and lychee, while it has spicier bottom notes of ginger and pepper and the beautiful underpinnings of jasmine and magnolia. Personally, I find that this perfume smells fresh and clean and not to overwhelmingly strong, it is a beautifully pleasant floral fragrance. One that I am sure most people will enjoy.
Personally, I think that the bottle is of a very simple design but it still remains very elegant looking. The perfume itself has a lovely feminine pink hue to it which you can easily see through the clear glass of the bottle. Overall, I think Lancome have done a wonderful job at making something look attractive without being too fussy.
I'm sure you could search the internet and find it cheaper but as it stands in my local john Lewis (where I got my last bottle from) the price ranges from £33 - £67.50 depending on the size of bottle. It is available in 30 ml, 50ml or 100ml.
Or I got my 50ml for £20 in the January sales.
--A friendly tip--
A tip a friend gave me years ago and I still use it to this day. Spray a small amount of perfume onto your hair, not that much or it will feel greasy but I love with you move around or flick your hair that you and those close by can smell your perfume again.
I find that the scent lasts throughout the day; sometimes I do re-spray for a fresher smell during the mid afternoon. However, overall I have no complaints with how long it lasts. This isn't my favourite, favourite perfume but it is probably the one I use most. I think it is a perfect perfume to wear throughout the day for work or a shopping trip with the girls. I am going to award this perfume four dooyoo stars out of five but I would prefer to give it an extra half point and make it four and a half stars.
Lancôme Miracle certainly knows how to make an entrance; it definitely packs in punch when you first spray it. It is mainly a floral smell; however you can detect a hint of spiciness and slight scent of ginger. The smell is very strong so don't wear it if you don't want to be noticed.
Most people advise this perfume for older women, but I think anyone can wear it, the smell is divine. It is not one of those perfumes that washes off easily, if you spray Miracle on you will have the scent on you until you scrub it off. I have even been swimming and still had the smell of Miracle on me even when I got out!
If you don't want quite such a strong smell I'd recommend Miracle So Magic, it is a much lighter version and much more discreet. I however like to make a statement so I chose Miracle.
I got given this perfume for christmas by my mum. I had never smelt it before, but i was not worried about not liking it, as i know that you always get lovely, good quality products from Lancome.
When i got it out of the box to test, i got what i was expecting and so much too. This perfume is lovely. It is not an overpowering perfume, it has a lovely sweet smell to it. It has that special smell about it though and i like to save it for special occasions, nights out, meals etc.....
The bottle is a nice simple design, classy i would call it. And the pink is always a bonus with me, as i love pink :) A 30ml bottle really does go a long way too. Mine finally ran out after around 9 months.
I have searched on the internet for prices, as mine is running a little low now. Although it is an expensive perfume, it is certainly worth it. If you are buying it for someone for a special occasion, they do gify sets too, where you get the perfume and a body lotion too, they come in lovely gift boxes too. Perfect present for any female.
Lancome really have done a good job with this perfume. A must for any girls perfume collection.
Lancome E.D.P Miracle pink and pretty and smells good too. Modern enough for the young Miss and traditional enough for the mature lady. Personally the intoxicating smell of Lancome Miracle has etched wonderful memories in my mind. Sunny Holidays Duty Free and Christmas Presents. The colour of Miracle is sooo cool and handbag worthy. The shape of the bottle ensures that it can be carried in your handbag for those special moments during the day when you need to reapply and feel good!
Lancome are a company very famous for their make-up range with famous faces behind it. There were the Lancome Juicy tubes which ever girl must own them but I have never tried their perfumes. The reason I wanted to is because as usual I always drift past the beauty counters and someone is always spraying something but what caught my eye was the gift set.
The Lancome Miracle gift set included the perfume, bath and shower gel and body lotion. So was it a case of love at first sight? Well, it is definitely a pretty colour, light pink is the perfume colour. A clear rectangular glass bottle, not as fancy as a lot of the perfumes out who compete to be the most original bottle shape. Lancome obviously do not see the bottle as having to be the main selling point or to be so out there it takes away a classic, perfect shape, ideal and classy. The light pink water fills the clear glass up and the reflective silver lid closes onto the top of the bottle securing in the liquid like some secret potion.
On top of the light pink water is the text, miracle is written again in silver writing very plain, below is the Lancome logo, not very obviously visible until a beam of lights hits the writing and catches your eye. To release the Miracle you pull up the silver lid and there is the spray lid. Out of temptation anyone will pick it up and breathe it in. The smell is quite strong but not too overpowering. It is a very sweet, feminine smell. It is floral but yet soapy too. I like this perfume for the fact that it lasts long because of it being strong so there is no need to spray it more than once. One spritz and obviously it is aptly named Miracle for the sheer fact that one spray makes this last a whole day, excuse the rhyme there.
The pefume does stay on the whole day and also by giving yourself a gorgeous scent the room you are in and surroundings will be filled with the scent. The perfume bottle sits there so still and innocently, not to outdo the other perfume bottle yet the scent it releases is far greater than any other on the shelf. I only got a 30ml in the gift set and already have nearly finished it, it has gone down more than half way in over 6 motnhs but it really depends on how much you favour this to the rest of your collection.
This perfume is as I said not too overpowering this is why I would recommend this for day use, it could be worn at night but I feel it dazzles more in the day whereas say Chanel Chance should come out for the nightime. It is one fragrance which I feel is for obviously a female audience but young or old. The modern day woman is of so many ages that this perfume symbolizes this and it is very feminine. It might make an older woman feel special, classy and a little touch younger whereas the younger woman might feel a little more older than her years for a while or more fun with this on, daring.
Now for the main part, the cost. On http://ww.supaperfume.com this perfume is £22.70 for the 30ml which I have but for a 50ml it is £33.50. On http://www.strawberrynet.com it costs £22 but the 50ml is £26 so it's up to you where you go but both websites offer free delivery. Your local department store will have this and maybe they might have a good deal on, maybe a gift set or something like I purchased.
Not being a Lancome fragrance fan before now I have been back to the sneaky little counter and have tried my luck again. Now I have discovered So Magic and Attraction all yet again very nice but are they as good as Miracle? Well ladies and gentlemen, you will have to keep checking back to my review page to find out.
Every Christmas and Birthday, without fail I get something totally useless from my brother, usually something he would quite like to have, but cannot justify unless he amalgamates this with another expense. ie me. So I was both delighted and slightly worried when I was given Miracle this year. And it's definitely perfume, not the handy get out of CK1 of a few years ago. Perhaps that's a bit misleading. You see I'd actually been harping on about Miracle for some time. You see, I don't really like perfume generally. It smells too much of flowers or musk, and often makes me sneeze. Och I'm just so delicate. There's no other way to say it, and I've tried: it smells pink! I don't like pink, but I LOVE the smell of it apparently. It smells so pretty but totally decadent and feminine. If you want to smell like a posh bird, or you think you actually are one, this is the fragrance for you! I've been informed that this review is a little vague and woolly. It is a perfect accompaniment to the fragrance. We don't really need perfumes any more since we discovered washing and deodorants, it's a decadent and pointless exercise to use it, but we do. The bottle is classic in accordance with the high price tag, it dosn't sost any more than any other to manufacture, but has no doubt been heavily researched and is what I wanted, before I knew it.
This is my newest find it is a real MIRACLE a new men's fragrance that I really like. I pinched this from my business partner who only wears Armani and will not change, luckily for me this does not stop people giving him lots of goodies for me to acquire. It comes in a really smart thick glass bottle with a silver coloured spray top and is made in France by Lancôme. When you see the name Lancôme you expect quality and that is certainly the case with this superb men's fragrance. It is a subtle blend of oakmoss pepper coffee rare woods and vetiver there are probably a few others in there as well but that is what comes through to me. It is one of those rare fragrances that starts off subtle but still lasts the day out. All this comes with a price of course and at about £40 for 100ml it is not cheap, but what is money when you are buying for someone you love, or yourself. The high price will also insure that not everyone in the pub will be wearing it at the same time as you. The women love it the one draw back is that there is a ladies version ( it came first ) and you may be coerced into buying that as well. You will find it at any good perfumers or department store, airport shop ( miss the dutyfree ) you could try the online shops but I did a quick search only to find it out of stock but this will change.
Lancôme today is known to be one of the more classy cuts in the world of beauty with its enormous range of products filling the shelves of every department store. So there must be a significant reason to why Lancôme has become so popular. Maybe it’s the expensive image, or maybe its just because Lancôme has released a new fragrance which has frenzied itself into the marketing world and caught the eyes as well as the noses of many passing customers. So just what is so great about this scent which makes it different from all the others? THE SCENT AND ITS IMAGE: This is certainly a scent that you wont be able to miss, its highly expensive image stands out a mile and if you’re the kind of person who likes to have that sort of image on your dressing table then this is the one for you. With its designer outlook it has the same appealing fashionable taste rather like an item of clothing except it is a perfume, so it could probably be thought upon as a fashionable item to have especially towards the younger generation. Now what's more important is its actual smell, its sweet soft scent rather reminds me of candy which maybe on the slightly sickly side for some people. I could also relate the scent to a slightly floral fragrance and rather reminds me of pink rose petals with quite a pungent smell to it. I've found it to be a lasting fragrance with a great stamina for staying power without it being too overpowering and strong scented. A small spritze on your wrist is just enough to last throughout the day without it becoming stale. PACKAGING AND APPEARANCE: This is definitely one of the scents best advantages as being a popular seller, with its bright pink shiny box its one that you cant miss on the shelves and its bright white font stands out from the crowd amid the other thousands of perfumes to chose from. In its basic presented rectangular box is the actual perfumes glass bottle. Its certainly not the most origin
al looking item being quite a small flat but compact rectangle shape, but still allows it to be ideally sized to sneak into your tightly spaced handbag. But don’t let its basic glass appearance put you off, its big silver pull off cap makes it look all the better and once off you'll fall instantly addicted to its aroma. THIS SCENT WOULD SUIT: This is definitely a fragrance that is suited to people with an acquired taste. I would recommend Lancôme's Miracle to a person who enjoys a pungent floral smell but who also likes to use a scent that is perfect for casual wear during the daylight hours. Being a great staying power perfume without being too overpowering it is ideally suited to somebody who likes not having to constantly re-apply their scent or who is in a rush and doesn’t have the time to re-apply it. I wouldn’t recommend this as a special occasion or evening wear scent, as it's more suited to casual every day use. THE PRICE: You are able to purchase this product from any good department store and its also available in major Boots stores as well. I brought the 30ml small bottle of Miracle with has seemed to have lasted me forever. Priced at £27.50 for the small bottle (think this is the cheapest you'll find it, let me know if you see it any cheaper) I think its reasonably priced considering other fashionable fragrances ridiculous prices. The bigger 50ml bottles are obviously more expensive. OVERALL: A beautiful fragrance with a definite expensive appeal to it. Being a long-lasting, totally addictive scent this has got to be one of my favourite fragrances as its also ideally suited for casual wear so I can use it every day rather than just for special occasions. And at such a reasonable price where the product seems to last for ages, I would recommend to everybody to give it its worthwhile try.
Miracle is a fabulous smelling perfume, it's fairly heavy and smells very much like Pleasures by Estee Lauder so if your a fan of that like me then go try. It's a pink perfume in a slimline bottle with a silver cap and looks very chic and the one I have is the £25.00 bottle which fits nicely into your make up bag. The face of Miracle is Uma Thurman and it was launched just before Christmas so of course like every beauty product junkie it went straight onto my christmas list. Thankfully my big bruv bought it for me and I am totally hooked. It's definately going into my list of favourite perfumes. It's quite a floral scent but not sweet and cloying and can be worn in the evening or daytime.
