Say the name "Lolita Lempicka" to the average person on the high street, and the typical response will most likely be "What? Get away from me"
However, if you approach people with slightly more tact and enquire about their knowledge of this particular brand of eau de toilette, you will in most circumstances find very little awareness or in many cases complete ignorance. This is one of the reasons I adore this particular aftershave and why it is very much a hidden gem.
Despite being a relative 'unknown' as far as luxury fragrances go -- at least as far as the men's version is concerned, I cannot speak for the women's fragrance -- and being generally difficult to find (My bottle was purchased from Selfridges in Manchester), as well as rather expensive, Lolita Lempicka is a quality product through and through.
The bottle is very well presented and has an individual 'distressed' look, which will really make it stand out when placed next to other, aesthetically lazier brands on your toiletries shelf. The pump works as intended, and sprays just the right amount (while many brands barely give you any and others far too much). There is also no lid to worry about, which while a minor fact is still relevant and just feels more convenient. To myself at least.
In regards to the fragrance itself, it is certainly very licoricey and aniseedy -- woody too perhaps? -- with a variety of other spices intermingled to provide a very, very unique scent. I have been asked by many people at parties what this delightful musk is, and I have simply told them that I have not showered for a few days and to leave me alone. This way, Lolita remains my own and frankly, this is just the way I like it.
So in summary, Lolita Lempicka is a wonderful, individual and wholly pleasing fragrance and if you manage to track it down don't buy it so I can remain somewhat unique. Thank you.
This is one of my favourite fragrances to buy my partner, unfortunately it is really difficult to buy on the UK high street and often overpriced when you do manage to find it. Lolita Lemicka for men was lauched back in 2000 and is a fresh, woody scent with a hint of liquorice and vanilla (two of my favourite smells, which is probably why I like it so much). The Eau De Toilette Spray comes in 50ml or 100ml bottles. The bottle is a bluey-purpley colour and has a copper coloured spray button. Unfortunately there is no lid therefore it is not ideal to take if you are going travelling as it seems to somehow spray itself all over your things, which means it gets wasted. I would definately recommend this scent and at a RRP of around £40 for the 100ml bottle I wouldn't say its too expensive either, providing you can get hold of it that is, although more and more online stores are starting to stock it for around £25 making it an absolute steal compared to most other men's frangrances on the market.
