I bought Lolita Lempicka's Si Lolita eau de parfum last month when I saw it on cheapsmells.com for just £15.99 for 50ml. It is currently £21.15 and the recommended retail price is £48.00.
~ Bottle ~
The bottle is in the shape of a shamrock. It is made from clear glass with gold coloured lining highlighting the shape of the shamrock.
There is a cute little fabric bandana around the top of the perfume bottle. It is white with purple dots on and a red coloured flower design.
The dispenser button on the top of the bottle is gold coloured and over the top of this button there is a hinged ring with the words 'Si Lolita' made from gold metal. This can be pulled to the front or pushed to the back of the bottle when the perfume is being used and I think it is a nice addition to the bottle design.
I have the 50ml bottle, as mentioned and it is a nice size. The bottle is quite cute and I'd love to see the 30ml bottle, which must be even cuter.
I like the bandana, which is also very cute. The shape of the bottle and the gold lining is pretty.
Despite the shamrock shaped bottle, perhaps suggesting an Irish connection, Lolita Lempicka is a French fashion designer based in Paris.
~ Scent ~
This perfume is interesting.
At first it is very strong. It is slightly spicy with a touch of sweetness to it.
The perfume contains notes of bergamot, mandarin, pink pepper, sweet peas, elemi, patchouli, Tonka and amber.
I am not a fan of spicy scents, but I actually like this perfume. My usual fragrances tend to be fruity and/or floral so this one is very different for me.
I find the dry down reveals a woody element to this fragrance, with a defined amber scent present as well.
It is a warming, sensual and romantic perfume. I don't think anyone would find it offensive.
I think this is one of the better offerings from Lolita Lempicka.
This perfume would be suitable to wear any time of day. It is not too heavy for day time wear, but deep enough for night time wear and I think the scent would be suitable for women of all ages.
I have found that it is long lasting on my skin and it has good sillage. It is still evident 8 hours after application.

~ Conclusion ~
I like this perfume. It is woody with a slightly spicy element, but it is not too harsh. It is a warming scent.
It comes in a nicely shaped bottle, with a cute little bandana around the neck. The metal 'Si Lolita' on a hinged ring is also a cute little extra.
It is also very reasonably priced and long lasting on your skin.
I am pleased with this perfume, especially getting it at such a bargain price.
Lolita Lempicka was born in 1954 and her passion for designing clothes began at a very early age. Years later, Lolita started her own fashion label offering feminine and modern fashion pieces. In 1997, her first fragrance was released and was aptly self named. Since this time, a few other fragrances have been released include one for the men.
Si Lolita is the new fragrance from Lolita Lempicka. It is an Eau de Parfum and matching products including a shower cream and body lotion can be purchased to allow the wearer to layer up the fragrance. Si Lolita is described as being "so feminine" and invites you into a world of happiness.
The bottle containing Si Lolita is a head turner and one which is sure to entice. It is based on a four leaf clover with large and curvy leaves ardorned with a striking gold border. Its top is attached over the top of the sprayer and confirms the Si Lolita name in gold. A white scarf adorned with polka dots and floral emblems is wrapped around the neck of the bottle and completes the look with a Parisian twist.
Si Lolita captures its floral and spicy essence with a blend of fragrance notes.
*Top notes - we are welcomed to appreicate Si Lolita with an opening blend of pink peppercorn, bergamot and mandarin. Top notes allow us to determine the initial scent for a short time.
*Heart notes - the heart of Si Lolita offers us a topping of Wallflower, sweet pea and heliotrope. The heart notes create the body of the scent and can last for several hours.
*Base notes - we are treated to a base of Elemi gum, amber, patchouli and tonka bean. The base notes offer the final scent on the skin.

I have got into the habit of bulk purchasing perfume samples on ebay now. I am in the frame of mind that I don't want to spend a hefty amount of money on a big bottle for it not to suit me. By purchasing samples, I get to pay a small fee and try lots of different perfumes over a space of time and decide my favourites whilst eliminating the nasties. I purchase several of each perfume to allow me to get a good feel for the scent as perfume takes time to settle on the skin and can grow on you from persistant use.
Si Lolita is one such perfume that I recently managed to get hold of a few samples worth. My pretty vials are pink and come carded in a cardboard pack depicting the design present on the scarf around the bottle. What a bottle this perfume comes in though. I mean WOW! I have had the pleasure of owning some distinct bottles in my time but this one is a statement design and is not like any I have seen before. For that purpose alone, I would happily treat myself to a bottle! I haven't tried any of the other Lolita perfumes and although I am familiar with the name, I am not confident in knowing much about it at all.
Si Lolita is a hit from the first spray and one spray on the wrist and neck is plentiful for a good coverage. I only came to know the actual notes present when researching for this review and in this instance, my nose was able to determine the notes before I check up on them. This doesn't often happen as I sometimes have trouble pin pointing notes unless of course jasmine, rose, vanilla etc. On this occasion, I was pleased I could sense the notes and I took to them really quickly.
The initial blast of Si Lolita is powerful and packs a punch as it gets right up my nose. At first it seems a bit too strong but it quickly settles to a pleasant and more manageable level and at this point, I can begin to fully appreciate all that this delightful perfume intends on offering me. The peppery opening offers a spicy and sweet treat. The peppercorn takes the lead role and whilst it overtakes anything which dares to interupt its superiority, the scent has a fresh and fruity base within the top notes which is strange though appealing and each of the top notes advised are present and correct.
The peppercorn remains at a consistent level as the top notes start to dwindle after a few moments. It smoothes out to blend with the heart notes but remains at a high level. It is quite heavy and brings a dessert like aroma to the scent as it jumps into a mix of light flowers and something pleasantly sweet. The scent transforms to become very gourmand like..it is scrummy and indulgent and a true treat for my senses and those nearby to experience. The heart of Si Lolita remains at a strong and confident level for around 5hours before settling down to a gorgeous base.
The base of Si Lolita exceeded my expectations and offered a truly, unusual and appealing scent which I have come to fully appreciate since I began wearing it. The spicy aroma which has been apparent and edgy from the initial spray, is still there but subtler and it has developed into a sweeter note. The amber in its perfect state, warms up the base on my skin and the tonka bean adds a delicious twist of sweet and pudding like aromas which whilst strong, do not overpower in a sickly sweet way. The base notes blended together have created a sweet and spicy scent which is a honour to be wearing on my skin.
The base notes last on my skin for around 3hours before almost disappearing and choosing to leave a tiny vanilla like trace on my skin which can be detected up close. The complete scent from initial spray to the base notes dwindling lasts approx 8hours which is acceptable for an EDP.
Si Lolita is a heavy scent and its sweetness would allow it to suit a modern female for wear during the winter months. It is too heavy and sweet for the warmer weather.
*~*~*Conclusion and Recommendation*~*~*
Si Lolita took me by surprise as its note combination provided a scent to die for and one which offers an indulgent treat. It lasts for most of the day and its scent had me dreaming of sitting on a cosy sofa with a large throw and roaring fire..comforting and warming and ideal for this time of year. I am going to drop some hints for a bottle of this for my upcoming birthday in March as it is a delightful perfume and one which I fully recommend!

At first glance, I couldn`t stand the look of this perfume bottle from Lolita Lempicka Si Lolita, but at second glance... Well, I still can`t stand it! However, all though I do not enjoy the design of this bottle ( it just creeps me out ) , I have to say that the perfume hiding inside of it is rather lovely, actually it`s one of those fragrances I use for when I want to look and feel at my very finest, which is not all that often... Hmm..... :)
Well, a shamrock shaped bottle with polka dots on its scarf, that`s more than enough to make me a bit scared, I got to say! Yes, it`s original and yes, it`s brave and bold, but for me, it just remains a bottle that I cannot stand to look at for too long... However, the first time I applied this perfume onto my skin, I forgot all about the bottle, because the fragrance was of such lovely scents that I was mezmerized! I prefer perfumes with a fruits and citrus in them, I`m not too eager on very heavy and intense fragrances, but flowers, lemons, tangerines, I`m buying it! So, the main notes of this perfume is mandarin and bergamot, two scents that suits me perfectly and rested lovely on my skin, after a couple of minutes the smell of sweet pea and pink pepper also showing its presence, all though much more vaguely... When the perfume had been resting on my skin for about two hours, it also started giving off the scent of vanilla and amber, and after all in all eight hours, I applied another spray onto my skin, meaning that this perfume in my opinion comes with a superb lasting power! I bought my 30 ml bottle of Lolita at amazon for the ok cost of 29.99, and as it doesn`t need a lot of re-application, the bottle is long lasting.
Both thumbs up, all though I have to say that the bottle could manage to give me nightmares...
Group: Oriental floral
~ INTRODUCTION ~
I recently bought a Si Lolita miniature fragrance in order complete my trio of Lolita Lempicka fragrances. Known for their well thought-out and researched design concepts and modern but high quality fragrances, I was looking forward to testing the new addition to the Lolita Lempicka stable.
~ THE PACKAGING ~
Breaking away from the previous, apple- or pebble-shaped bottles that Lolita Lempicka, L de Lolita Lempicka and their numerous spin-offs are housed in, Si Lolita comes in a distinctly ornate bottle that's shaped like a shamrock. Each 'petal' of the shamrock is shaped as a heart. The cap is round with a small polka-dot and floral scarf around it. Of course only the large bottles come with the ribbon. The box is white and repeats the polka-dot floral theme of the ribbon.
You just got to love the packaging and design of Si Lolita! Based on a fairytale concept just like its predecessors, Si Lolita is chic, very 'parisienne', feminine and of course a bit mischievous. The concept is very French with baroque details, I'm instantly thinking boudoirs with Louis XVI sofas, mirrors and dressing table, dreamy drapery and wallpaper; luscious, ornate and decadent details to the core.
~ THE FRAGRANCE ~
Top notes: bergamot, mandarin
The scent is everything but. It's light as a breeze. It starts out with a burst of fresh elemi. I have made some shower gel using elemi and allspice essential oil a while ago as I love oriental spices and Si Lolita's start instantly reminded me of it. Elemi is a resin and its essential oil has a peppery-citrus profile. The fresh, citrusy start backed up by some light peppery tone only lasted for a few minutes though before it got swooped up and transported into proper pepper land.
Heart notes: pink pepper, sweet pea, elemi
As the heart started to develop, the more peppery accords started to lead the scent due to the presence of pink pepper and creating a quite spicy, peppery, but unmistakeably light and sheer scent. nowhere near as powerful and peppery than the pink pepper used in Yves Saint Laurent Elle that came out a few years ago. The transparent accord consisted of an only slightly sweet, light floral edge and a fresh spicy one that lasted for about two hours. Too bad it went so quickly though I did apply a few drops on my arm which is more than a few spray's equivalent.
Still in the heart, Si Lolita moved into its predominantly floral phase where I started to detect the a light and sweet floral note that wasn't drowned out by pepper or any other spicy note now. It stayed in the background though, luckily never becoming too sweet or too floral.
Again, the sheerness and lightness of Si Lolita surprised me, I expected more oomph from an Eau de Parfum, especially one that was launched last October so possibly intended for winter wear. Overall, the now floral heart was light and feminine and not overly sweet with a slight touch of spices still lingering around which was pleasant though not memorable.
Base notes: patchouli, tonka bean, amber
As soon as the heart notes disappeared (which again, is a bad sign, rich and complex enough perfumes retain some of their heart and even top notes right into the base), the characteristic sweet, warm, vanillary, almondy and also spicy, hay-like odour of the tonka beans appeared. Unfortunately, the base felt subtle with practically no sillage at all and stood on its own until within an hour it got swallowed up by a nondescript, creamy and skin-flavoured vanilla note.
The drydown lasted a mere two hours on me. Neither the patchouli nor the amber notes came through on my skin, which was again, a slight disappointment as my skin develops oriental base notes very well in general. I guess it's the poor concentration they come in here that stopped it from happening.
If you're interested to know, tonka beans are the seeds of the Dipteryx odorata tree that belongs to the pea family. The seeds are fragrant and has long been used as a vanilla substitute. They contain coumarine which is an anticoagulant and is lethal in large doses. Many prescription anticoagulant drugs are based on this substance. Due to its toxicity, coumarine is now synthetised in perfumes.
~ CONCLUSION ~
To sum up, Si Lolita comes nowhere close to Lolita Lempicka and L de Lolita Lempicka in staying power or even originality and complexity. Even though the fragrance did have a promising and interesting start, it was clear from the beginning it was never going to become a spicy,
powerhouse fragrance like its predecessors. I didn't quite like the way the base notes developed. The generic, sweet vanillic base was such an easy way out.
Being a light, spicy oriental, Si Lolita is a safe, summer choice if you're looking for something more complex and well-done than an average fruity floral. It's fresh and enchanting, spicy and intriguing. As expected from the house, it is definitely a quality affair, nonetheless reflected in the price tag, but due to its lightness, it's only a shadow of its sister fragrances.
