Any Lush fan will know that anything with the Honey I Washed The Kids scent is to die for. It is perfect for anyone with a penchant for the sweeter things in life so when Lush made the scent available in solid perfume form I was more than thrilled and one of the first in the queue to pick one up.
I should start with a bit of a description of the gorgeous scent that is Honey I Washed The Kids - it is toffee, honey and fudge all rolled into one. It is sugary sweet and simply yummy. It always manages to make me crave something from the sweet shop! It makes me think of Christmas Markets a little bit when you have that stall making fresh fudge with toffee...yum!
The scent in the solid perfume form doesn't disappoint. It is still as sugary sweet as it is when in its soap form and it is just as yummy. As soon as I open the screw top lid of the little aluminium tin the solid perfume comes in, I am always literally drooling! The smell wafts up from the tin nicely; it is not too strong but not subtle either. It is just right.
Like all solid perfumes from Lush, Honey I Washed The Kids comes in the usual aluminium 10g tin which is complete with a screw top lid. ON the top of the lid is the usual black Lush sticker with the Lush logo at the very top and then the name of the product just underneath in Lush's iconic font. On the base of the tin is another little black label stating the amount of product and the ingredients.
This solid perfume is the same as any other and has a waxy appearance in the tin. You use it in the same manner as the others and that is simply running your fingertip across the waxy surface of and you will see (without having to dig into the perfume at all) that your fingertip will be covered in a clear sheen. You then apply this sheen to wherever on your body you want to be scented in perfume and you're done!
The scent does not disappoint when on the skin - it smells even better. It is a very warm and comforting scent too. Sort of like comfort food but without the fat and calories! Unfortunately the staying power of this scent isn't particularly great. I found I got just about an hour out of it on my skin before the scent faded away to nothing and I had to reapply it. It isn't too much hassle to reapply as the tin is small enough to carry around with you and you can just apply it wherever you are but it does mean you will use it up much quicker.
A 10g tin of Honey I Washed The Kids would have set you back £4.95 in Lush but it has since been discontinued so you would have to look around on eBay or on the Lush forum.
Highly recommended purely for its gorgeous scent but it does lose a DooYoo star for its horrendous staying power.
