I was lucky enough to pick up a nice little set containing a small bottle of Mango Delirium which came with a matching body moisturiser. The set had been on sale at £14.99 but was reduced by 75%, which was an absolute bargain. As soon as I saw the set I thought it looked lovely in shades of pink and red and I was very keen to try it out.
My set came in an partly open fronted pack which had a clear plastic panel to it. I could see the lovely rose coloured bottle containing the Mango Delirium nestled inside the box next to the body lotion. As Mango Delirium can sell for up to £12.99 a bottle on its own I was very happy with my bargain priced set.
When I got my eau de toilette out of the box I thought that the bottle was very pretty. The colour is very girly and adds to the over all appearance of the bottle. The almost diamond cut that the bottle has allows the fragrance inside to glimmer and sparkle when it catches the light. I feel its pretty enough to give as a gift.
My bottle of Mango Delirium had a spray applicator and this was easy for me to use when I wanted to spritz some on to my skin. I found that I did need to be rather generous with this scent as it did fade quicker than some other scents I have tried. I didn't really mind this too much as I was able to purchase it cheaply, but I feel I would have been disappointed had I paid the full price for it.
I find that Mango Delirium is a very girly fruity scent that begins quite strongly and then softens to the point of fading to nothing after a few hours. It is rather a shame that the scent has a very short life span on my skin as this is a lovely sweet and fruity fragrance that is very exotic and enticing.
There are hints of many florals in this fragrance including beautiful gardenia, helliotrope and tiare flower. Lilly of the valley with all its green freshness is in there too amongst good company. The floral burst hits you as soon as you spray this on and is something that I really liked about Mango Delirium.
The other notes in the scent comprise sweet coconut, warm vanilla and musk. I don't really feel that I could sense coconut very clearly in the scent but the vanilla and musk did come through after a short time once the flowers had died down a little. Throughout the few hours the scent remained on my skin there was a great deal of sweetness, which may not be as suited to some people as others.
Mango Delirium is a very nice fragrance that is completely let down by a lack of staying power. I feel that if this had more longevity it would be a lovely scent that I wouldn't mind paying full price for. As the fragrance is let down by how long it lasts I do feel I cannot rate it with 5 stars, however at the price I paid it was fantastic value. With everything in mind I would like to give this a 4 star rating which I feel is more than fair.
The bottle is beautiful, the cap has a pink and red exotic flower shaped ribbon tied around the top which adds to the femininity of the bottle. The perfume itself is pale pink in colour, this is complemented by the cap. It's reasonably priced, but is increasingly difficult to purchase (I found my second bottle on a store on Amazon, it was limited stock at the time).
The scent is flirty and floral, and if you use too much in one go it can become sickly. I've found that a single spritz is perfect and lasts all day. It is a strong fragrance, without being overpowering or offensive and has gained me compliments, mainly from my boyfriend who bought it me first time round!
I wouldn't go as far as to say it is only for the younger lady, it can definitely be pulled off by those who are young and vibrant at heart as well!
*~* Retails for approximately £10 for 60ml and £17-20 for 100ml *~*
I have almost used the whole of my rather vast perfume collection and while having a peek in my mum's beauty boxes I have realised she has been keeping secrets from me! Probably because she knows her perfumes will somehow disappear if I am around, I have found a new collection to use (and review!). My mum works on the same principle as me, that the perfume bottle is just as important as the perfume... well almost! And I have to admit her girly glamour of perfume bottle has got me a little bit jealous. So yes her perfume collection has reduced and mine has increased. Fabulous!
** Perfume Packaging **
The reason this perfume stood out on my mum's dressing table is blatantly obvious. The elaborate bottle with its red and pink ribbon fabric flower on the stopper of the bottle and the soft pink liquid floating inside a 50's style bottle, it is screaming for attention. Some may say it looks cheap, but I think it looks fun, feminine and flirty.
The Mango brand used to be one of the slightly higher ended high street shops, along with places such as Zara and French Connection. But over the years I think it has lost its prestige and is just an average high street retailer. I think the bottle represents its urge to really try and compete with higher end brands.
The shape of the bottle is reminiscent of the oval Christian Dior perfume bottles and the Burgundy lid engraved with the Mango name adds a bit of class, but it does lack the finery and class of the more popular brands. Nonetheless, I do like the quirky bottle and it definitely looks great in my (and my mum's) perfume collection. The design behind the bottle is that it is supposed to look like a flower bud about to burst into blossom, if your imagination can stretch that far then you may believe it. But it really is a simple diamond design that has a little twist.
** The Heart Notes **
The heart scents (otherwise known as the middle notes) are what makes up the main body of the perfume and is usually what catches the most attention and appeal. The heart notes are most apparent within an hour of wearing the perfume and generally last throughout the life of the perfume on the skin. So when people ask 'oh what's that smell?' it's usually these notes that they can sense.
gardenia, fruity notes, vanilla musk, lily-of-the-valley, mandarin blossom and tiare flower.
A definite floral number I can only imagine this to be heady and a bit suffocating. The only reprieve may be from the fruity notes which should freshen the fragrance up a bit. Hopefully. The notes should mix well together, some strong florals such as gardenia mixed with mandarin blossom should hopefully create a whirlwind floral bouquet. But it all comes down the wearing!
** Wearing The Fragrance **
I have to warn you that the spray on this bottle is really strong. One spray and you have enough of the liquid to make your wrist wet, so go easy with the sprays.
I was genuinely surprised by the initial fragrance that seems to slowly evaporate from the liquid. It was much fruitier then the notes would make me assume and it was really quite sweet. The fruity notes are definitely apparent and the sweet mandarin is bursting from the skin. It is really quite a strong scent and after a few minutes the floral notes start to drift into play.
Although strong the smell is a soft floral scent that dances around the nose and the vanilla musk only takes five minutes or so to settle in and give the fragrance its powdery soft blanket. Mango has worked the notes well so that they weave in and out of each other. Just when I thought the floral had taken over and settled in with the musk, there would be a hint of fruit teasing me. The aroma is quite heady, and because it is strong it may give some delicate noses a bit of trouble and have that choking effect. My advice is give this perfume some space and only spray once. This means that it won't over do the smell plus the bottle will last longer.
In terms of longevity, considering how strong the smell is, it really does not seem to stay on the skin very long at all. After about 30 minutes the sweet fruity tang disappears and the floral notes are there to stay, but only slightly. If you try hard enough you can smell the light floral scent on the skin but if like me, you like the aroma to almost cover you in a soft blanket of fragrance, this really isn't the one. It is a great instant burst of floral freshness, but not suitable if you are a one spray a day sort of girl. In order for this to last throughout the day it would need a spray every couple of hours, and that really is just too much for me. Especially as the initial burst is so strong, if I did it too often it really would give me a headache.
A fresh burst of sweetness which quickly turns into a floral feast, I definitely like the smell of this fragrance. It blends together well and quickly settles down after a shocking start but it just doesn't have the staying power. Perfect as a spring or summer perfume because of its sweetness and its instant freshness which is great for warmer weather, I wouldn't say it is a special occasion sort of aroma, but one I would always consider wearing. I may even make it my emergency spray, a perfect pick me up!
** Price, Availability & Other Products **
As with most perfumes the price varies depending on where you got and what size you get. I would always advice you to look online as there are so many perfume retailers now. This is a great bargain, mainly because it isn't one of the 'top brand' names. For a decent 60ml bottle, you can find it for as little as £10, Amazon is a perfect example. I think it is a great perfume for an amazing price. This perfume also comes in an array of gift boxes with body lotions and shower gels. I really think for the gorgeous scent and shocking bottle, it is a bargain in anyone's eyes!
** Recommendation **
This is a definite thumbs up. It is a fresh, sweet floral fragrance, that has a fun and feminine bottle plus a purse friendly price. Easy to wear and for everyday use it is a perfume that anyone could wear. Used sparingly it has a gorgeous aroma, but sprayed too much it does become far to heady and strong, leading to unpleasant headaches or nose twitching.
It definitely lives up to its name and is a floral frenzy that has a happy and excited twist to it which is portrayed in its bottle design plus its pink and powerful perfume. A great name which fits perfectly with the overall product.
The only downside is that it doesn't last very long, but for the price, you can't really argue. I think it is a great gift for someone who appreciates fun, feminine and charismatic gifts. It is a gorgeous perfume which really justifies why high street perfumes can be just as wearable as the perfumes 5 times this price!
It is a perfume that I would keep in my bag for when I need an instant burst of freshness, plus it means my mum won't find it!
Thank you for reading!
I fell in love with this perfume two years ago when I got a free sample of it through the post. I hunted for it for ages because it's not a very well known fragrance, but when I found it I was extremely happy. It's such a gorgeous floral summer scent, very floaty & sweet smelling. For such a gorgeous perfume it's very cheap as well. I'm begrudged paying £30, £40, even £50 for some perfumes when this one is so gorgeous & retails for about £15 for a very decent sized bottle.I'm fanatic for perfumes, but now I always keep this one stocked in my bedroom. Gorgeous. (:
Launched in 2006, this floral fragrance may not be the most expensive perfume out there on the market but it is so much better than the price itself would lead you to believe - retailing at around £15 a bottle.
This perfume has notes of musk, coconut, tiare flower, vanilla and lily of the valley among others. It really does smell good enough to eat. If only they could make it taste the way it smells.
This is a pretty new perfume to the market, and though it is competing with hundreds of others for buyers attention is doing well so far as it's still going. This make have something to do with the almost fifties style bottle, complete with little fabric flower on the stopper, and the pale pink colour of the perfume itself. They have not gone for minimalist styles here, but out and out girly glamour that you could imagine on Marilyn Monroe's dressing table.
This fragrance is fruity, flower, exotic and rather flirty. I have always gotten compliments when wearing this perfume and it has become my signature scent because of this. Look out for the gift packs you can get, recently I bough two because our small local pharmacy are no longer stocking this perfume for Christmas gift sets. One that is out you get a 60ml bottle and a black vest, another comes with 60ml perfume, a mini version that can be slipped into a bag, and a red hand bag, and another comes with the 60ml, the mini, and the matching body lotion. I have found all of these for £12.99 and under so well worth a look.
If you are still unsure on this fragrance they stock it in boots so give the tester a smell and see for yourself. It is such a nice perfume, and may just be the one for you.
I saw an advertise for this fragrance a couple of years ago in a magazine but didn't think much of it.A couple of weeks later I was at my local boots store where it had been reduced and being the bargain hunter I am I purchased it.I did keep my fingers crossed all the way home because the tester bottle in store was empty.
I was pleasantly surprised by the fragrances notes which has very clear floral notes. Its both fruity and floral so definately a sweet fragrance. What was even more surprising was the amount of compliments I got when wearing this fragrance.Everything from 'you smell gorgeous' to 'what are you wearing today?'
I feel its a young fragrance.More ideal for teenagers and young adults. Not overwhelming in anyway so is ideal for everyday wear. Althugh its not at the top of my list of fragrances I definately have one for 'casual days' .
The bottle is lovely too.The bottle top has a cute red ribbon on it which makes it look pretty sitting on the dressing table.
A pleasant everyday fragrance.
This is my favourite perfume in the world! It's relatively cheap and smells gorgeous. Its quite a sweet smell which stays on your clothes and body all day. I found you only needed a small spritz in the morning to get a lasting smell for the rest of the day.
Its a very rememerable smell and you will love it and want to smell if again and again!!
The only problem which I can find with thos fragrance is its difficult to get hold of, the only place I have actually seen it in the shops is Boots, in a gift pack with a moisturiser, I have looked on lots of websites but couldn't find it.
I think though if you look on the Mango website itself you would be able to find it.
As I said it is relatively cheap, a 60ml bottle is around £15, which isn't bad, seeing as I bought a 30ml bottle of DKNY delicious a coupld of weeks ago for £30!!
Its a very pretty pink colour and is in a cute little bottle, with a little flower around the lid, which actually looks really cute on your finger as a little ring!!
If you like fragrances such as Escada Paradise, sweet smelling perfumes which linger on you for a long time, you will love this perfume!!! :-)
