I was given a set of these Marc Jacob perfumes for Christmas and have been steadily testing them out and reviewing them.
I have reviewed the original daisy perfume previously and have to say I didn't love the bottle design for that one, finding the flowers just a bit crude for my personal tastes. Though this bottle is essentially the same design I do actually like it better. This bottle is made in a beautiful matte black as opposed to the traditional clear glass in the other bottle. The daisies on this, though the same size and shape, seem to me a little more modern being gold all over. That said, the bottle design still isn't one I would immediately gravitate to because it all just seemed a little gaudy and I like a more delicate design. I also think the matte black of the bottle, though gorgeous looking, is very impractical as you can't see how much fragrance is left.
This perfume essentially has the same notes as the standard daisy scent. This begins with top notes of strawberry, violet and red grapefruit. These soft, sweet, sharp fruity smells are very pretty but as with the eau de toilette I find them a little sweet for my liking which makes it all feel a bit juvenile. This middle notes are a beautiful cacophony of floral notes with violet, jasmine and gardenia. I love these powdery floral smells and this is definitely my favourite level of the perfume, though it doesn't really match the design and initial smell you get.
The base notes are a lovely sweet vanilla, white wood and musk. I love the more earthy woody smells after the beautiful floral bouquet of the heart notes. I find this mellows the perfume, deepens it and gives it a real sense of womanly sensuality. The overall feeling is of being invited into a flowering wooded enclave. My only real issue with the scent is that the top layer seem a little discordant with the rest of this fragrance which is utterly feminine and very delicate.
This version of the daisy scent is an eau de parfum which means it has a higher concentrate of fragrances which gives it a stronger smell and more longevity. I did find the other perfume lasts for around 3-4 hours whereas this one is more like 6-8 which is pretty good given it isn't drastically more expensive. The original daisy scent retails at around £45 for 50ml, whereas this eau de parfum retails at only £5 more for the same volume. If I had the choice I'd opt for the parfum because it lasts longer, has a nicer bottle and is only that little bit extra.
That said, you probably won't find me rushing out to buy this perfume. I still believe it is a very expensive fragrance given what else you can get for the same amount of money. I would far rather have a true designer branded perfume like prada or chanel than this and you could buy them for roughly the same amount.
Overall, this is a nice eau de parfum but you could get something better for the money.
I was given this perfume as a gift and I have to say I am very pleased with it! I don't usually wear perfumes as I prefer the natural, clean and fresh smell. However after using this it is definitely one of the most lovely and natural smelling perfumes I have ever had!
The perfume is stored in a charming and cute bottle. The bottle I have is black and the cap that protects the spray nozzle (so the lid) is some little pink daisy's that are just adorable! The bottle I have is 100ml. The box the perfume came in was very eye catching. It is pink, decorated with black daisy's around the edge of the box. It would be very hard to miss in the shops as it is very eye catching and pretty!
The smell is refreshing and quite sweet. I wouldn't say it smells of daisy's however it just smells so fresh that it's almost like its your own natural scent! It's not too overpowering however it is just enough to make people go "ooo".
THIS PERFUME IS FOR....
.. casual wear or even evening wear. It has a diversity to it that allows you to wear it for pretty much any occasion. This would be perfect for a romantic evening with your loved one !
HOW LONG IT LASTS
I would say that once on, this lasts for 3-6 hours. It stays on me all day sometimes, depending on where I am. If you are out and about a lot then I'd say this is more 1-3 hours as if you are doing a lot of things and sweating , it'll wear off quicker!
WHERE TO BUY
You can purchase this at Debenhams , John lewis, online and in pretty much any perfume shop that is near you. I have heard that they go out of stock quite quickly so I suggest finding out when their delivery is and buying then!
The price of the bottle I have was £50 ! Which is a lot of money considering the bottle isn't incredibally big! However I would definitely recommend this to anyone that wants a fresh smelling, long lasting perfume! You can buy smaller bottles at a lower price.
Overall I would recommend this perfume as it is a lovely fresh smell and the bottle is just gorgeous!

Daisy can be found in a variety of sizes and colour schemes, as you can see above there is the black bottle/gold box combination. I have the clear bottle/white box one, but the fragrances are the same.
The scent is, as you might have guessed, based on daisies. It's a lovely fresh floral smell, a great all rounder. I use it as en everyday sort of scent, and I feel it helps bring a touch of sunshine and happiness into my day even if the weather's rubbish - a real feel-good smell! The scent lasts all day too, which is saying something as my working days are spent in a classroom with 30 small children with their various afflictions clambering all over the place!
The bottle is quite glam too, as it is topped with a daisy shaped lid. I bought mine as part of a gift set too (it was so nice I decided to treat myself), which was a brilliant deal from Selfridges. It was £40 for a set including the scent itself in a large bottle, a teeny tiny roll-on of the scent too (30ml I believe) and a body moisturiser of the scent. The little roll on lives in my bag, and despite having had the scent for about 2 years now it's still going! I don't use it every day but I do at least once a week for a little top-up during the day. The moisturiser is true to the original fragrance, and does actually moisturise your skin which I find can be a big ask of some fragrance moisturisers!
Great modern fragrance very much a young ladys fragrance who like to be with the in crowd and loves her labels ,its woody but fresh at the same time and modern and fashionable young scent if that makes any sense.Young trendy teens and young ladies will love this one its great as a party fragrance or when attending flashy dinner partys .I do like it not sure its really for me though as its a very popular one but if you are one to follow the crowd glamorous it girl then you will love it and where often statement bottle nice clean glam packaging. Its not really a faultable fragrance as its its a glam fragrance that will bring a bit of glamour to your day and i dont know anyone who would nt want that.Easy gift for girls and young ladies 15-30 years of age really and it is long lasting too.
Marc Jacobs was born in NYC in 1963 and opened his first store in 1986. Whilst emphasis is on fashion, he also offers shoes, accessories and a few different fragrances.
The Daisy collection started off with just an Eau de Toilette. A body lotion, shower gel and bath fizzers were added. A year after the initial release, an Eau de Parfum was released. A solid perfume can also be purchased but is very rare. Recently, a fresher variation has been released aptly named Daisy Eau de Fresh.
Daisy EDP is described as being "radiant and enchanting, Daisy is a sparkling floral bouquet with a fresh, spirited edge". Daisy claims to take you back to a happy, youthful place which will make you smile.
The traditional EDP bottle is created using rectangular front and back with curved edges. It offers a weighty, black glass engraved with the Marc Jacobs and Daisy name. It is topped with a large gold lid which is adorned with gold daisy flowers.
Daisy has been created using 3 sets of fragrance notes. The EDP will be significantly stronger than the EDT allowing it to last longer on the skin.
*Top notes - ruby red grapefruit, violet leaves and wild strawberry
*Heart notes - jasmine, gardenia and violet
*Base notes - musk, white woods and vanilla
~~Availability and Price~~
This perfume is readily available. The EDP appears to only be available in a standard 50ml size for around £50.00 from Boots and other department stores. It is currently on offer at £40.05 from Amazon.
On its release, my sister treated herself to a bottle of the Daisy EDT and I got to try it out and loved it but couldn't afford such a luxury. Well the fragrance fairy must have been listening and a few months ago, I won a limited edition bottle of the EDP in a competition in my local Boots. I was over the moon and treasure this bottle and its contents. I thought it was about time I introduced you to this lovely scent.
My bottle is even more stunning than the original. I had the additional bonus of it being a 100ml which isn't even available so I feel very special indeed. Being Limited Edition the design sets it apart from the normal black bottle. My bottle is stunning with a shiny silver colour and gold lid. This is a truely stunning piece of work and although far too big and clunky to take out in my handbag, it takes pride of place on dresser. The daisy design isn't cheap as you would expect and is simply well made and has a luxurious touch about it which I adore.
~~Starting The Daisy Chain~~
The floral namesake may lead you to make assumptions about its contents but you couldn't be more wrong. I feel the Daisy name is to signify the freshness the scent offers as well as being something you consider from your youth. I loved making daisy chains so the scent name is certainly appropriate to my youthful feelings and memories. I spray a little onto my neck and wrists and the strength is evident from the first spray allowing only a small amount to offer maximum impact.
A fresh, engaging opening scent presents itself. I find it highly addictive and favourable. There is an delightful fruity tone with an almost candy like touch to it. It works extremely well and it is freshened up slightly by the violet leaves allowing the sweetness to remain pleasant and not sickly sweet. It is an unusual aroma which is presented in a charming, elegant way whilst being comforting and lively all at the same time.
The sweetness settles down slightly revealing a bright and vibrant heart. A floral infusion comes into play but not to the extent that it couldn't be appreciated by someone who doesn't love floral scents (like myself). It is incredibly fresh and airy with a more leafy aroma about it. The jasmine is barely noticeable to my nose as usually it adds a sensual undertone but not in Daisy. There is a faint whift of gardenia adding a floral undertone but emphasis is on the fresh leafy aroma which is clean and pleasant.
Around 6-7hours after initiallty applying this EDP, the freshness fades and the most luxurious and enchanting base takes hold on my skin allowing me to be comforted and content. It offers a total transformation from the scent that was offered to me for the rest of the time on my skin. I was taken aback by strength of the base as it offered my beloved vanilla in its finest form..sweet and natural. There is a hint of creaminess and woodiness adding to the sweetness making it even more attractive and a very faint undertone of musk to avoid taking over and being too mature for my skin.
The scent remains put for a further 3-4hours and longer on my scarves and jacket.
~~Suitability, Recommendation and Conclusion~~
Daisy EDP is an elegant, sophisticated scent which suits my skin perfectly. I think it would suit any age but is most suited for evening wear due to its strength and luxurious scent. Perhaps the new lighter Daisy would suit day time wear. I adore this scent and my bottle is lasting well with regular use. It is a stunning design, a pretty and feminine and makes me feel special, confident and attractive.
I highly recommend Daisy EDP and although pretty expensive, the lasting power and amazing scent far outweigh the initial cost. Even the back bottle would make a stunning gift for a beautiful lady.
Thanks for reading :)
