Advantages: It does's wash off
Disadvantages: It stinks like a wh...
I recently was sent some of this fragrance by someone calling herself my friend (since trying this i do wonder lol).
So for the record I am reviewing Daisy by Marc Jacobs in Eau De Toilette.
The History....
This fragrance was launched in 2007 and developed by perfumer Alberto Morillas and it it is produced in France. Marc Jacobs is behind the fragrance and he's a fashion designer.
The Packaging....
It comes in a black box with little white daisy's printed around the outside and has gold writing explaining that it is indeed Daisy by Marc Jacobs and the bottle is a squarish, oblongy bottle rounded off on the corners with a gold press on lid over the gold sprayer with two plastic daisy's on it. All in all it looks beautiful and elegant in design.
What The Product Describes The Smell As....
Includes notes of Wild Strawberry, Violet Leaves, Red Grapefruit, Gardenia, Violet, Jasmine, Musk, Vanilla and White Wood.
What I Have To Say About The Product....
Well as I said earlier the person that bought me this I thought was one of the few people on this planet that knows me incredibly well! I mean we shared a house and were always nicking each others stuff after all so when she said she'd got herself some perfume and treated me to a bottle I was over the moon!
BUT....
This stuff isn't bad , no its offensive! Its vile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn't mind if it wasn't my cup of tea. I mean I'd make do and say thanks and just use it round the house and stuff. However not only does this smell make me what to vomit whenever I can smell it other people complain that i live with! (Its that bad!)
The description of the ingredients makes it sound delicious but it's not the reality. I dare say the ingredients listed are correct but the volume they've used of each is all wrong. Its not balanced at all. It's very outdoorsy, smells like the woods!
If you take a look at the ingredients, Violet in some form is listed twice and there's the give away. Violet is stronger than Strawberry's at the best of times eh! All you can smell is the Violet. There is no depth to it, no different whiffs it's Violets simple as that. It's not one bit sophisticated. Everything is confused about it, the bottle looks young and cute, the smell is something my great granny would wear (and she's been dead year's), then theirs the simple fact its called Daisy but it dont smell like I imagine a daisy to! It's not straightorward. It's just a very lazy attempt at knocking a smell out.
Then for an over powering smell here's the funny thing after an hour and a half of stinking it's head off, job done the smell completely disappears off your skin! It settles down and although still not a perfume of my choice it isn't too bad and it's livable. However I sniffed myself and not a trace. So This is one if you could stand to you'd have to keep topping up and you'd have to love the strong fragrance.
I was wearing it earlier (before i had to scrub it off) I was thinking it reminded me of a violet tasting sweet from my youth!
I think if someone is attracted to it it would be a more 'mature' lady who's still into Yardley and the such. Saying that my mum is 62 and complained! Its not sophisticated and is over priced air freshener, mine went in the bin followed by a stern phone call to my mate lol
Nasty is being polite! I'm sorry to issue this warning but don't buy it please. It needs to get banished into room 101! Ive smelt some rough stuff but this takes the biscuit!
