Marc Jacobs Daisy So Fresh Eau de Toilette
Advantages: Beautiful bottle, stunning fragrance with superb longevity
Disadvantages: None for me
Whilst I had previously been aware of the original Daisy fragrance with its beautiful bottle, I was totally oblivious to Eau So Fresh, which was launched in 2011. Similar to that of Daisy, Eau So Fresh is very feminine in appearance and is presented in a modern style clear glass bottle adorned with a stunning bouquet of colourful daisies. It was only when I carried out a little research on the fragrance that I discovered that there are two different bottles; one of which carries lemon and white coloured daisies with the other displaying cerise, green and orange daisies, which is the bottle I own.
It is evident that careful consideration has been considered in the bottle's appearance, as it is absolutely stunning and would no doubt appeal to the majority of women. Whilst some consumers may be tempted to place the bottle on display, this is a big mistake, particularly as perfumes should not be exposed to heat or direct sunlight. As a result, you will find the aroma will quickly change rendering the perfume useless, so it's always best to store fragrance bottles in a cool and dark place, such as a dressing table drawer.
I generally tend to opt for eau de perfumes, particularly as they contain between 7% - 15% of oil concentrates, which result in a longer lasting aroma as opposed to the 1% - 6% found in eau de toilettes. However, my initial sniff of the fragrance led me to believe that Daisy Eau So Fresh would offer superb longevity due to its considerably intense aroma.
I always spray fragrances on my pulse points, such as the inside of my wrists, as the blood vessels in these areas are closer to the skin's surface and as a result, the fragrance is heated and subsequently released much quicker than on any other area of the body. In addition, a spray behind each of the knees will enable the fragrance to travel upwards as you walk. The opening notes of Daisy Eau So Fresh are fresh and crisp where we are greeted with grapefruit, raspberry, green leaves and pear. You would believe that this fruity ensemble would be a little sharp, but this is not the case, as they are uplifting and very refreshing.
Approximately fifteen minutes later, the top notes are accompanied with a delightful combination of heart notes, which consist of violet, wild rose, jasmine petals, apple blossom and lychee. This is when the fragrance really becomes alive, as their delightful floral tones work in perfect harmony with the fruits and subsequently, produce a very favourite aroma without being cloying or overly floral. All of the fragrances that I regularly wear contain musk and I was pleased to witness its aroma in the base notes of Daisy in addition to cedarwood and plum; all of which add an element of mystery and sensuality. The cedarwood offers an element of woodiness to the fragrance and reminds me of the delightful tones of sandalwood.
It is the delightful combination of musk, cedarwood and jasmine petals that tend to take the forefront in Daisy Eau De Fresh; all of which product a very favourable scent deeming this eau de toilette to have become a real favourite of mine. The longevity surprised me, as I had anticipated it to last for only a few hours, which is generally the case with an eau de toilette. However, I was still able to witness the aroma some six hours later, which clearly evidences the overall quality of this fragrance. Despite the musky aroma, I feel that this fragrance would be well suited to women of all ages.
A 75ml bottle of Marc Jacobs Eau De Fresh retails at £48 for a 75ml bottle, which I consider to be excellent value for money especially when I pay £33 for a 30 ml bottle for Estee Lauder Beautiful Eau De Parfum. You can also purchase a 125 ml bottle for £62 or a 20ml purse spray for £29.50.
I can award nothing less than five stars to this stunning eau de toilette, which receives a high recommendation from me.
I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading.
