      Sunshine in a bottle

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine is a Limited Edition Eau de Toilette which launched in 2012. It's not widely available any more but can be found on amazon for around £50 for the 50ml bottle.

      My thoughts

I like the bottle of this fragrance, it's very cute with it's little plastic flowers in bright colours on the top, and it does look good on my dressing table. I think it has quite a young feel to it and is probably aimed at younger women.

The fragrance is described as radiant and enchanting, a sparkling floral bouquet, spirited and fresh, wrapped in comfort and warmth. I'm not sure I agree with all of that as I find it a more fruity than floral fragrance, but I do think radiant, spirited and fresh describe it quite well.

The top notes are mandarin, guava and redcurrant, the mid notes are lily of the valley, lychee and violet, and the base notes are blonde woods and musk. The overall fragrance to me is a very fresh and uplifting fruity scent.

As I've already said, I do find this much more of a fruity than a floral fragrance, and in fact I'd go so far as to say I don't notice the floral elements within it at all, which is no bad thing as I'm much more drawn to fresh, fruity fragrances anyway. It's very much a summery fragrance which would be perfect as an everyday scent.

I don't think this would seem out of place on anyone, though I do think it would appeal most to younger women as to me it does have that young, care-free kind of feel to it. It's a fragrance I really enjoy wearing, and I get complimented on it a lot from both men and women alike.

I only use a couple of sprays of this to give a good amount of fragrance, and I do find if I wear any more than that it tends to give me a headache, as it has that heavy chemical feel to it. It lasts really well, especially for an eau de toilette, and I find I get at least 5-6 hours wear out of it before I feel it needs topping up.

Yes, I would definitely recommend this beautiful scent if you can get hold of it. It has fast become one of my favourite scents!

      daisy summer

When I saw this "summer" version of Marc Jacobs Daisy I was instanly intrigued and loved the bottle even more than the original Daisy. In fact, according to an article I read, " Marc

Jacobs expands his perfume portfolio with Sunshine Edition collection consisting of the new versions of some of his most popular fragrances. Daisy from 2007, Daisy Eau So Fresh from 2011 and Oh Lola! from 2011 are the ones that got their new limited versions "dressed in the happiest colors of the season."

opens with juicy notes of mandarin, guava and red currant. The heart is composed of lily of the valley, lychee and violet, laid on the base of blonde woods and musk. It is available as Eau de Toilette. Daisy Sunshine was launched in 2012.

The first thing that actually attracted me to this Daisy sunshine perfume was the beautiful bottle. The bottle is made of see through glass but then on either side of the lid stopper are two beautiful daisies, just like the original version of Daisy. However, its the gorgeous colours and beautiful brightness that really makes this perfume bottle stand out for me.

The daisies are made out of a tough foam and are quite big. Of course, they don't really look real but they definitely look very striking and pretty. There are three daisies on this bottle, one pink one, one orange one and one green one, so lovely and colourful and bright.

The liquid inside is then a lovely golden colour, almost like the colour of the inside of a daisy.

The smell itself is described as a fresh, floral fruity fragrance. It opens with juicy notes of mandarin, guava and red currant. The heart notes is composed of lily of the valley, lychee and violet, laid on the base of blonde woods and musk.

The main smell I can get from it is definitely a citrus one so I guess its the mandarin coming through. Its a lot fruiter and juicy than the original Daisy but I like the difference and love how sweet this is whilst not being overly sickly or too strong. It's definitely light and not too sweet and a very good perfume to wear during the day. I would agree with their description of it being sunny as it does give you a nice upbeat feeling when you wear this perfume.

They market this perfume as carefree, flirty, natural. It is supposed to be happy and youthful and sophisticated but not too serious. I think the fact that they have big plastic daisies on the bottle does keep it quite young.

All in all, a lovely sunshine summer treat.

A scent I would love to last!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Sunshine Edition was my second purchase from their Sunshine Edition range, which I bought a few days after buying Daisy Eau So Fresh Sunshine Edition.

I had been torn between the two for my initial purchase and decided on Eau So Fresh, which came in a 75ml bottle, but days later I decided I needed this fragrance as well.

There are three fragrances in the Sunshine Editions collection. There is Daisy Sunshine (which comes in the same shape bottle as Marc Jacobs Daisy), Daisy Eau So Fresh Sunshine (which comes in the same shape bottle as Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh) and Oh, Lola! Sunsheer (which comes in the same shape bottle as Marc Jacobs Oh! Lola).

      ~ Price ~
Although I bought this in Boots it is not available to buy from their website, but it is available in department stores such as House of Fraser and Debenhams as well as The Perfume Shop.
The 50ml bottle cost £45.00. This is the only sized bottle the fragrance is available in. It is also only available as an eau de toilette.

      ~ Bottle ~
The bottle is made from clear glass. It is quite a flat bottle, not much taller than an inch, but about two inches wide and almost an inch thick. The bottle has rounded edges and it is narrower in the middle.
The fragrance itself is a light orange colour.
The bottle has 'Daisy Marc Jacobs' written on the front in black lettering. It does not say anywhere on the bottle that this is the Sunshine Edition, but the perfume box gives it away. The box is white with little green, orange and pink daisies around the border.
The lid is a gold coloured ball covered by 3 rubbery bendy bright coloured daisies. There is a small bright green coloured daisy, a medium sized bright orange daisy and a large bright pink daisy. I think the colours go well with each other and make the bottle look very summery.
Each daisy has a gold coloured centre.
I really like the bottle for this fragrance. It is bold and colourful. The glass is chunky and not being as tall as the bottle for Daisy Eau So Fresh Sunshine Edition, I think it looks a lot more attractive.
I don't think it looks tacky with the bright colours as the lid is well made and you can see it is of good quality - I'd describe it as fun!

      ~ Scent ~
The scent has a vague resemblance to the original Marc Jacobs Daisy, but I prefer this fragrance.
It is really fruity, refreshing and uplifting.
The top notes are mandarin, guava and red currant.
The heart notes are lily of the valley, lychee and violet.
The base notes are blond woods and musk.
The mandarin really stands out in this fragrance and the red currant is also evident. It is light juicy and fresh.
The floral notes bear a resemblance to those in the original Daisy fragrance by Marc Jacobs.
I really like this fragrance and I think I prefer it to Daisy Eau So Fresh Sunshine Edition as it is more fruity and I love the mandarin scent in it.
It is a very summery fragrance, but it was only released in October 2012.
I heard on an online forum that the Sunshine Editions will not be released in the United States of America and would only be available in Europe. This irritates me a bit because I'd hate to think that a fragrance from a big name like Marc Jacobs would be released exclusively to a far away country that I didn't have easy access to like the USA.
I love this fragrance. It is so fresh and fruity. You find yourself sniffing at your wrists obsessively because it smells so good.
Unfortunately I must admit that the sillage is very poor and this perfume is not the longest lasting.
It lasts for around 3-4 hours on your skin. The longevity can be improved by spraying it on your clothing or hair, but this is not an ideal thing to have to do.
I'd say this perfume would appeal to women of all ages. It is fruity, but not overly sweet. It still has an elegance to it.
With it being so light and summery I think this fragrance is more of a day time scent than one that I would choose to wear on a night out.

      ~ Conclusion ~
I really like this scent, but it really lacks staying power and therefore it becomes a bit pointless. While it does last I really love the scent.
I'm not sure if I would buy this again if I ran out. It is one of the nicest fruity scents that I have used. If it had a higher concentration and longer staying power I would definitely buy it again, but £45.00 is quite a lot of money to pay for a fragrance with such poor longevity.
If it had better staying power it would get the full 5 stars as I really do love the scent.
